Great news! thank you Bioware!. I just hope to see the controls/gameplay/combat more in line with the quality and polish of DAO and DA2. As of right now my DAI is just taking up dust since I can't enjoy the controls/camera the way it is now. Also would like to see more options to manage the companions as it seems it has been dumb down a lot. Keep up the good work.!

Hey guys. How do we know if the game has been patch already? I did try to see if a new version of the game has come but origin said its already up to date...
*so that means the update has not been implemented yet?
It's announced but it's not live yet it seems

Why didn we get this kind of post a week ago? It would quiet down the fanbase at least. The silence just made everyone be on adge.

Thanks for the update Scylla and Conal!
And thanks for listening to our rantings and ravings.

This is the best thing I could have read before bedtime.
Thank you so much for the update and your continued efforts!
Posts like this are a great example of just how brainwashed gamers have become. Not only do we not expect a game to be FINISHED on initial release, we THANK the developers for providing what we've ALREADY PAID FOR! LOL, just amazing.

Agreed, I will also be waiting for an updated Nvidia driver once the patch is live. With all the horror stories I've seen on this forum, I don't want to ruin my initial play-though.

Do you buy a new car design the first year it is produced, or do you buy it in year 2? New car designs are notoriously buggy in the first year of production.

I need to dig through my old box of floppies and see if I still have that Gunship 2000 update disc from Microprose so I can take a picture and post it for you. Do you really think games needing a patch is a recent development? Yes, games will ship with issues. Yes, decent developers will patch them. I for one am grateful Bioware is a decent developer. More than decent.
Bioware deserves better fans. (that said, the keep still sucks and I'd rather importing was doable.

My questions where I am confused, unless I misread.
I didn't read anything about TC angle fixes? (Improved field of view during cqc) or even adding more commands to TC?
When they say AI pathfinding fixes, would that mean, AI will actually listen to commands given? (Hold means hold.. Etc)
Still, I am grateful for communication and the patches coming out way. Thanks Bioware.
That's how you follow up after winning GoTy

Oh yes, do post a pic of an old game that required a patch or I'll never believe it. You're missing the point.

Better late than never I guess, but you guess could have saved yourself a lot of angry comments by just keeping the community updated. This post eased my own frustration and gives me hope that I will be able to finish and enjoy replaying the game.
Consumer trust is hard earned and easily lost think about that next time please. It sucks that you have to release a game that isn't finished, but the least you guy's can do is not to keep us in the dark. It's not an unreasonable request to get regular updates on the matter and I think people would be a lot more forgiven if they were informed of the situation. If the silence was due to "damage control" then I think instead of calming down people it had the opposite effect. There will always be unreasonable people who will be a-holes just because they can but that doesn't excuse the lack of information to us concerned fans who really want nothing more than to play your games.
I own and love almost all of your previous games and I want to love this game, I want to love Bioware but sometimes you make it a bit hard.

I believe his point is that this isn't a precedent. You cannot anecdotally proclaim "gamers today" because we "gamers of ye olden times" had similar circumstances. They just weren't as popularized and echoed. Or, perhaps I too am missing your point in all seriousness.
OP:
"... Keep an eye on this thread by Mark Darrah for more updates...". Updates don't appear there, at least not directly from an official. If it wasn't for sinosleep I would not have known a patch was coming days prior. But thank you for making an official announcement. I do appreciate it.

I've been holding off playing as well, but seems I will have to wait a few patches still.
