Yep, the post processing AA is good enough unless you have a huge monitor IMO.

I don't have definitive proof. I'm just assuming based on what they said in their patch intentions. Stability, game-breaking bugs, and performance first, everything else next.

Today, should be any time now.

It is breaking game for any male elf player. You would not want to spend more than few minutes looking at fractures arms and arms glued to the ribcage or even worse! arms sinking in the body so our elves look pretty much armless.

Please check my edits above. It is actually downloading the german language packs. Why now? I switched UO language in Origin two weeks ago, but only when I checked for an update on DAI it started downloading. So it's coincidence. A very, very stupid coincidence. -.-

Well, you almost got me to fall off my seat lol

Could someone explain why some people have 1.0.0.1 version, while some of us are still on 1.0.0.0? shouldn't 1.0.0.1 be the day one patch?

I suspect that region lock might be resposible.

Are you looking in Programs and Features of the Control Panel, or are you looking directly at the executable file?  From what I am reading here.... and just confirmed by checking both on my own PC, Programs and features shows 1.0.0.1 and the executable itself shows 1.0.0.0.  I am guessing Programs and Features showing 1.0.0.1 means you got the day one patch.

The version number in control panel doesn't matter.

There is a file called version.json inside DAI folder, open with a text editor, if it shows: 856038 as build number you have the latest version.

Don't worry! I have not played this game since its purchase! Broken male elves positively blocked me from any kind of immersion in this rpg:

For more info, look here: http://forum.bioware...d-its-problems/

Dude, don't plug your thread in unrelated discussions. That's stupid, and annoying.

A hobbit most certainly. Slender as an elf, small as a dwarf. Beard on their feet.

/edit: Ah...I have a theory. I recently switched Origin back to the German UI. In the past I had set it to English so I always get english voiceover in games. But since DAI has it's own english language DLC download it didn't seem necessary anymore.

So this could very well be the german language it is downloading. Can anyone confirm that language packs are about this size?

And why now? Well since I changed the UI language I never actually clicked "check for updates", so...coincidence. -.-

Sorry guys. I really didn't want to upset you!

/edit2: Confirmed. New archives in my D:\Origin\Dragon Age Inquisition\Data\Win32\loc folder, beginning with de. God damnit, I tricked myself. <_<

For those of us that didn't noticed the edit.
So it was just the language package, not the actual patch he was downloading.

Alright now I'm starting to really get confused. Mine still shows 1.0.0.0 not 1.0.0.1 I have my origin set to auto-update and I've manually been checking for updates since I took a break from playing a few hours ago.

I bought the game at late november, I think I bought the patched version because I didnt get any updates since I activated my product key..

I also disabled auto-update for games (not origin) go your settings and try clear the tick "Auto Update games" and try manually, I dont

know this helps or not.. you better contact EA chat support

Only the .exe shows 1.0.0.0. Programs and Features in the Control Panel shows that i have 1.0.0.1. As well as the version.json file, shows the 856038 build number.

Thanks.

We the playerbase demand restitution in the form of a new class that summons demons from the fade. Or we will burn down studio ferguson style. ty that will be all.

Dude, don't plug your thread in unrelated discussions. That's stupid, and annoying.

It is highly related to the discussion. This bug: forum.bioware.com/topic/532511-dragon-age-inquisition-patch-2/page-1 should be addressed in the patch number 2. Where better place for it to be discussed is if not here.

It seems we have vastly different world views. I for one believe that an informed person is more likely to let go of an issue than a person left in the dark. The frustration of not knowing whats going on is in my book far bigger than the disappointment of hearing that something isn't going to work out.

I think that hiding behind silence is the easy way to go and I don't respect it. I much rather hear the "hard truth" than being oblivious. Cause when informed you can cope and then move on which isn't as certain when left wondering. To me this applies to all things in life.

Except that on the BSN, if Bioware announces something and then it doesn't end up making the cut, then the forumgoers consider them to have "broken their promises". Look at gameplay features such as customizable keeps for example.

Bioware is cautious and they are right to be.

This. Or a proper Necromancer that actually summons undead minions and uses pestilence-themed spells. Not a CC, delayed boom, or lolspirit mark.

OK, just plowed through the 19 pages of this thread. For fellow late-comers, here's a summary, so you don't have to do the same.

  • Bioware posts an update on the patch process
  • This is immediately attacked by hordes (well, at least five) of angry gamers as the worst idea ever
  • The same hordes requests more updates
  • A few have the gall to thank Bioware for the update and the upcoming patch. They are immediately shot down, labelled "fanboys" and never heard from again
  • Fast-food analogy. Views differ on wether the unpatched version is a burger with half a bun and no cheese, or a delicious burger that didn't come with a complimentary gold-plated car
  • Tempers flare.
  • Bioware tells everyone to be nice. Tempers calm.
  • Now we're discussing lasagna, I think.

Congratulations, you're now up to date. I think. Except I spent some time composing this post, and have probably missed the entire lasagna discussion.
