what a lovely button smashing console game i have after patch 3. now i can walk. thank you so much bioware. but varric is not dancing anymore when i try to talk with him which is sad  :(

Ditto with the breakdown of importing World States from the Keep on a new game. Been fiddling around with starting a new run and can confirm that problem occurred immediately post-patch.

I just unlocked the quest What Lies Dormant (Solas' personal quest). Seems like they fixed it!

My handmade shields are zero'd as well (e.g. darkspawn alpha shield).

Walk/run toggle works fine.

Cannot use custom world state, only default.

Crafted shields have 0 armor.

I guess PC players are good enough for beta-testing patches.

well this new patch has stuffed things up, i cant import world stats, my warriors shield is worthless now, and for some reason some of my compainions armor that i have given them are also worthless.

 

anyone 1 from bioware no when they will fix these problems or if theres a way i can roll back to patch 2?

For those concerned about the 0 armor value of crafted shields. It seems the bug only applies to shields that were equiped/in inventory during patching.

I just crafted the mentioned darkspawn alpha shield, and it has standard armor rating for a second tier material shield ( 24 ).

I also checked the atribute section and the armor rating applies normaly in the Armor Rating:Front part.

I said this in the other thread, but I tested the "no import" and it is not exclusive to Patch 3--I have not patched and my game did not check for imports on a new game attempt.

 

More likely, it is because all of the ports for the servers are being used, currently, to download patches and whatnot. The same thing happened when everyone was d/ling Patch 2. So, don't panic--it's not the patch itself; it's either port-related or the Keep is malfunctioning. If it's the former, wait a few hours and it will probably be okay again.

Their previous armor value is listed in the description as a bonus (but of course doesn't actually do anything). I also noticed that Cassandra's front armor rating went up by 5 points when I unequipped her crafted shield. Another bug, or do I just not understand front armor rating at all?

Few initial thoughts. While toggle walk is... nice, toggle "look arount/turn camera" option would be nicer for starters.

Currently you have this clickable screen by default, which gets disabled if you hold Right Mouse Button. A solution could be to add an option that makes the clickable menu disabled by default (as if you are holding RMB) and enable clickable menu by pressing a key. Similarly to ME3.

 

Then there is sprint. Why there is no sprint in SP is beyond me. Hopefully it was some other reason then a choice between a horse and sprint due to "lack" of buttons on controller. Please, do add sprint to SP.

 

Also, I see that you can no longer sell research items, which is great. No more confusion there.

Being on Xbox i was super jealous about the PC patch until i read more of this thread. Jeez, more problems than solutions eh?

I dunno, two problems versus however many solutions are in the patch notes (I didn't count). Zero is the best number of problems, of course, but it does seem to have fixed more than it broke.

Yep noticed also. It seems that the +5 points are from the "default" shield cassandra switches to, when you equip a one hander without shield. I just gave her a twohander ( so she does not switch to the default shield ) and the armor rating went to the same value as with the 0-value shield.

 

So in my opinion those +5 points in front armor rating are not a bug

I wouldn't until the hotfix...

Doubt a fix will be released for a bug that occurs only after patching, and can be fixed simply by crafting a new shield. Just my opinion tough

Banter seems just as rare as it was before. Up to 4 hours of gameplay, across two saves with different Inquisitors. I tried different zones, Forbidden Oasis, Western Approach and Exalted plains. Was mixing party compositions quite often and i got a total of 3 banters and 2 environmental comments. In my personal experience, the Banter Bug has not been fixed whatsoever.

For people experiencing issues with walk toggle, try clearing your command line to remove the 60fps framerate "fix" (-GameTime.MaxSimFps 60 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 60+). Removing this item should stop the issue.

Man, nothing like patch day to remind me why I don't hang around the official forums much.  I just need the Keep to start working again so I can start a new game and add to my 360 hours of game playing fun...all with a mouse and keyboard...which seem to work just fine.
