Banter seems just as rare as it was before. Up to 4 hours of gameplay, across two saves with different Inquisitors. I tried different zones, Forbidden Oasis, Western Approach and Exalted plains. Was mixing party compositions quite often and i got a total of 3 banters and 2 environmental comments. In my personal experience, the Banter Bug has not been fixed whatsoever.

So lame. Seems like Bioware's programmers outsmarted themselves with their own banter algorithm, since they can't seem to figure out how to fix it.

Just a little info for those having problems with the walk-toggle:

At first it didn't work for me, I could switch to walking but not back to running.

It seems this problem was caused by an earlier work-around for cut-scene stuttering:

I had "-GameTime.ForceSimRate 59.99+" in my command-line arguments

After removing that, the walk-toggle now works as intended.

The other two command-line arguments, "-GameTime.MaxSimFps 59.99" and "-GameTime.MaxVariableFps 59.99" have no adverse effect.

I don't know if they have any positive effect either, without the other option.

A suggestion to further improve the walk-toggle: It would be great if holding down the sprint-key would alter the movement speed as well.

If walking is default, the sprint-key should make you run, if running is default it should slow you down to walking.

I'm not affected by the problem with crafted shields, probably because I didn't have one. My Cassandra is currently using a unique shield.

All my other crafted equipment ist fine.

And one more note on the patch: The new large mouse-cursor is faulty. There's a vertical line on the left that shouldn't be there.

Whilst I commend BioWare in their endeavour to release the patch as fast as possible, please do announce when exactly you are releasing patches, so that people who might want to wait out patch reactions can savely disconnect their system to avoid auto-patching in the event that occuring issues they deem unsatisfactory can be avoided by keeping to offline/unpatched play.

I would obviously also advice anyone who does have this mindset regarding updates make sure s/he disabled automatic updates to minimize surprise patches.

Considering the latest patch apparently broke the world state integration from the Keep, which can be considered a gamebreaking bug to those that wanted to play with a specific world state, offering the opportunity to wait out customer reactions to patches would be welcome.

I also suggest that in order to increase community awareness regarding the patching process, a dedicated topic (for example an edited opening post in this very thread) be maintained that lists all reported issues and adresses them in short according to the situation of the developement team dealing with them. For example currently know patch 3 issues:

- Crafting: Armors/shields no longer display their defensive properties. Problem identified as UI malfunction - items still possess their appropriate defensive stats, but they do not show up in the menu as they should. Fix currently in the works. Last update 20.01.2015

- Movement: Walk toggle making players unable to run again unless reverting to an earlier savegame. Problem unindentified. Fix pending investigation. Last update: 20.01.2015

- Keep world state import: Players are currently unable to import any custom world states from the Keep. new games can still be started with default world state. Problem unidentified. Fix pending investigation. Priority issue, we are working to resolve this issue above all else! Last update 20.01.2015

I also suggest the developing team to formulate a template for bug reports that players can use to relay new findings or additional information about existing issues in an easily processed manner for the developing team whilst also ensuring that the given informations are thorough enough to work with when players have a solid template to fill out so they don't omit potentionally valuable informations (say an issue appears to be occuring only with female dalish characters could be easier to nail down if all its bug reports explicitly show that tendency!).

Collecting reported issues/bugs/glitches and regularily updating the community about the current standing of the patching process could enable the community to help with concise feedback and would also help decreasing the potential of impatience within the community when they know what is currently worked on. It would also help the community to speak out about which issues should be prioritized, helping the developers to adress those points earlier.

It is literally the one and only things that makes me not want to play the game. I didn't care about other bugs and glitches, even didn't care so much about Solas' quests not triggering for me for my first play through. But the banter is kind of the thing that kept me going back to DA titles, and since i KNOW it should be there i am just unable to focus on anything else, just thinking how long its been since i have heard anything. Kinda makes it meh for me :(

Right, thanks for the info. Does it mean I need to delete the workaround? I like my 60 fps cutscenes -_-

Agreed. When the banter works it's wonderful. I had a 2 hour stretch where it clicked every 15 minutes and it added so much to the experience.

I removed only the "-GameTime.ForceSimRate" argument. Haven't seen a cut-scene yet but I guess without that argument, they will play at 30fps again.

That basically means you might have to choose between walking or smoother cut-scenes until this issue is fixed. If ever...

Yeah I can confirm that. Just tried it. So you pretty much get to walk... at the sacrifice of having to watch not just cut scenes, but doors opening and animations such as the soldiers training in 30 fps. It just looks awful. So I will not be sacrificing 60 fps for walking. Really dont understand why this is even a thing but oh well . Hopefully they fix it, but probably not. I'm just glad the camera doesn't lock onto characters anymore in tact view.

I just unlocked the quest What Lies Dormant (Solas' personal quest). Seems like they fixed it!

Hey :) Would you mind clarifying how you unlocked it? I want to know what triggered it exactly so I know if I can continue my game or have to restart a new one! Was it collecting 10 orbs??

Thanks in advance!

Honestly I don't mind crafting new shields. I suppose I would if I'd made them with some limited materials.

Most of all I'm hoping for some fixes to mechanics. For example, I'd like to try a necromancer at some point, but from my own testing the skills don't seem to be working nearly as well as their descriptions would have you believe (and Spirit Mark just seems bugged, which is really odd for a signature ability!). I currently have a rift mage who is hit by the weakness bugs (they are hardly game-breaking, by the way, my rift mage is steamrolling things on nightmare), and I have an assassin rogue where the crit from stealth effect doesn't work with Shadow Strike.

Yep noticed also. It seems that the +5 points are from the "default" shield cassandra switches to, when you equip a one hander without shield. I just gave her a twohander ( so she does not switch to the default shield ) and the armor rating went to the same value as with the 0-value shield.

So in my opinion those +5 points in front armor rating are not a bug

Excellent reasoning, thanks. I think you're right. I have noticed they switch to default weapons when nothing is equipped, and so it would make sense for there to be a default shield as well.

Yeah, date with Solas in Halamshiral was such a blast. My personal favourite is a metal piece piercing through his nose. ^_^

Not sure, if I should patch my game or not. I'm want to see if my banter bug is gone, but I don't want any new ones in my game.

I simply activated the orbs (some without Solas) and then I received a War Table mission called "Measure the Veil Strength" or something like that. After I completed the mission, I received the quest "What Lies Dormant".

I hope it was because of the patch, and not a bug of the bug. :P

And you didn't have the counter to collect the orbs before right?
If so, there should still be hope for me!

Nope, no counter. I simply activated one in the Hissing Wastes before going to Skyhold and, when I got there, I received the War Table mission.

OK.... I must be officially blind....

Where in ESC->Options->Key Bindings is the WALK TOGGLE ?? because I'm looking for an option that says Walk Toggle.

I'm in the same boat...I see absolutely nothing under Key Bindings for walk/run toggle or some variant term. Can anybody share where this is in the list or what the default binding is so I can verify my blindness? Thanks.

I just want my warrior detonations to work properly.  I can live without having a run / walk toggle or (absurdly) long stretches between party banter.

It should be directly beneath "Toggle Auto-Run". It's not tied to a specific key by default, so you'll have to bind it yourself. Hope this helps.

Agreed, that's how I've been playing for over a month with the walking mod.

I'm reading conflicting reports here about the crafted shield/armor bug, and I'd like to know if I should just wait for a hotfix.

Does the bug affect the UI only, or does my crafted armor really offer no protection at all?
