If the fonts on PS4/xbone are as big as on PC i'd be able to fecking see them from a the other side of the town without glasses, and i'm fecking nearly blind.

 

And yet strangely enough, many of us on the PC have too small a font... I expect there are certain resolutions where the game fails to scale the font appropriately to match the game resolution... It's not bad enough to be a huge problem, but still, it seems like it should be a pretty basic part of the QA process to run the game at various resolutions and make sure the font scales... Except they probably skipped that entire process and only adequately tested the resolutions that the console systems run at...

For people experiencing issues with walk toggle, try clearing your command line to remove the 60fps framerate "fix" (-GameTime.MaxSimFps 60 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 60+). Removing this item should stop the issue.

 

I know, how about you guys "vous vous sortez les doigts du cul" and whip us up a real fix for those jerky 30 fps cutscenes and animations (among a sh!itton of other things that should have been integrated from the start, like a proper PC UI and not the current garbage), who knows, maybe the game will run better. How's the walk toggle even related to that is beyond me.

It should be directly beneath "Toggle Auto-Run". It's not tied to a specific key by default, so you'll have to bind it yourself. Hope this helps.

 

 

Thank you for the response. The "Sprint" key is directly beneath my "Toggle Auto-Run" key in the key bindings. I exited the game completely and re-started...still no walk/run toggle. So, I guess, for whatever reason, it's just not showing up for me. At least I won't feel compelled to keep trying to find it.

I'm in the same boat...I see absolutely nothing under Key Bindings for walk/run toggle or some variant term. Can anybody share where this is in the list or what the default binding is so I can verify my blindness? Thanks.

the Keep is back online. My first save for a new game is now 9 minutes instead of the 12/15 minutes it was since Nov 18. So they did something on performance!

Man, nothing like patch day to remind me why I don't hang around the official forums much.  I just need the Keep to start working again so I can start a new game and add to my 360 hours of game playing fun...all with a mouse and keyboard...which seem to work just fine.

 

Wait!  So you can map commands to your 4th, 5th, and middle mouse buttons??  Did the patch fix that??

Not that I know of, its not on the patch notes. I'm not so sure if the devs will even have it in DAI in the end.

I'm still waiting for 1.2 as its not currently usable (for me) with tactical camera. However, it's our best hope. If 1.2 works out, then I'll be running DAI with TWO external programs just to get proper PC controls lol.

Patch 3 doesn't seem to affect newly crafted shields. The issue may be visual tooltip related. Below is a test shield crafted post-patch 3:

Yes I've heard others mentioned that it's possibly a UI bug, not a gameplay bug. Can't confirm however as I have yet to update, looking around for more infos.

I'm not sure if it's related to the patch or if it was like this all along, but I feel much more bothered by smal draw distance now.

Honestly, I don't even care if they fix it at this point, because I know they'll just screw it up.

 

Bless the people who turned me on to autohotkey because I would never have been able to play the game without it.

 

(BTW, thanks again BioWare for screwing over your PC fans and loyal customers who have used the same mouse-based control scheme for both of your previous games.  Yes, I'll remember this when DA4 comes along.  And your marketing doublespeak (read: lies) in previews saying how the controls will be exactly like the other DA games.  #stillangry)

I don't care about newly crafted, because I'll be damned if I'm going to go around re-crafting everything because EAWare can't be bothered to test their patches before releasing them.

 

I want to know if the stuff my characters have on them in my saved games is useless or not.

It doesn't. I tested it in combat. Damage mitigation is there. The must have changed something in the tooltip display which borks the display for shields crafted pre-patch. As to "everything", you mean, 4 shields? That's... so unbelievably unfair I'm sure that the mobs are gathering to riot even as we speak.

Good question, especially if the shield is T4. T4 materials are limited.

The controls are the same as the other DA games; presumably Bioware just underestimated the group of people who have some unexplained dedication to not using WASD. There are certainly issues with the tactical camera but they're not worse than the pure garbage camera in NWN2, and the combat controls are certainly not as bad as TW2 was either at release or even patched multiple times, so I don't see where the hysterics are coming from honestly.

Armor, my dear, armor.  I have crafted fabulous armor for everyone and some people were reporting the same bug for armor.

You mean it doesn't work if you want to play it without unsupported work arounds? There is a walk toggle floating about as a mod that's supposedly 60 FPS compliant.

Btw, Exile, have you tested the shields/armors pre-patch to see if it still works in patch 3?

 

This is important for those currently in late game with T4 armors. As you know, dragons aren't unlimited.

I'm testing them now but I don't have a formula for how damage is calculated. I need to go back to check how the math works e.g. if there's some variation in how everything is calculated because there's a suggestion this isn't just a visual bug but a total reset of any shield crafted pre-patch to 0 which is a serious screw up.
