I simply don't get this 'banter' business. I've had companions chatting it up since day one to the point that I wish they could shut up. It must be a very individual experience based on playstyle. My guess is that it was never a bug in the first place, just a 'fix' for a vocal minority (yes I went there) , unable to switch partners and so on...There are bigger issues.

Respectfully (pun), Sir, you are sprouting nonsense.  Check the Interwebs, a BW dev even acknowledged it. EA never did.

Based on other's testing, it still works with patch 3 :)

Have you tried the link I posted for the walk toggle option?

And yeah, if you have an override from nexus, its probably likely to have caused the bug.

DAI tools currently mod the game by jury-rigging the patch folder.

Not yet....have other priorities here... for the moment

So what's the general consensus on Patch 3 so far? Fixes? New bugs?

I'm satisfied

with all these problems I doubt we will ever see dlc

No, DLC is coming.  Just for the Xbox first.

Kinda confirms the "We done did it all fer the PC first and foremost" lies.

They managed to bollocks up the game and every successive patch, so you can just imagine what the console-first DLC will do to the game on PC.

Oh, man...  *shudder* ...and the next Mass Effect?  I can catch the early whiff of Battlefield debacle stink all over it.

Bioware is dead.  This is just the carcass spasming as it fades.

Bioware is a brand.  The core values, design mentality, targets, goals, etc of the studio that was Bioware have been replaced by the EA versions of those things.  They've been assimilated by EA.  Bioware is just a brand now.  Not in and of itself bad, just EA's values are....well, not the same.  One needs only view the quality of games pre-EA and post-EA to see that.

The 'Bioware Division' makes decent games now, not great games.

He's surprisingly very calm

Think that's the saddest part though, seems we're coming to the "indifference" stage of the relationship of many fans and Bioware.

Too much trouble... I'll stick with CE for the walk for now... thanks

Same here.... I'm playing two char plus a third one once in a while. All three games have banter dialogues...I switch the teams from time to time, visit different regions, talk to the team at Haven/Skyhold...

Patch3 seems to contain some type of "forced" dialogue code. Don't expect it to kick frequently, though.... could be on a timer.

I don't think Iron Bull or Sera have much to talk about. From my single playthrough, Iron Bull's longest conversation involves mayhem through unconventional tactics. That's pretty much it. I thought they would talk about the Qun, but nope. Unless there is a lot more banter there, I didn't hear it. Sera, to me, doesn't have many lines in the first place. She has a few one-liners directed at Solas, but not much of else (from my experience).

Hmmm... My Sera/Bull talk ... and talk and yes, they do talk about the Qun... Bull said Sera is NOT Qun material... LOL

Something really weird is going on with shields. Not only were my crafted shields showing 0 armour but when I looked at the stats ALL shields were actually REDUCING the Front armour rating - even non-crafted shields that showed a positive armour rating.

I then crafted a new shield, equipped it, and suddenly the armour ratings were correctly applied for all shields in my inventory. Even the zero-rated crafted shields (although they still added zero armour).

So it looks like a bug with how shield amour rating is added to general armour rating rather than just zeroing out the crafted shields.

Epic fail.

Name the shields so that the devs can have something to work on....

Well, got the banter fixed but, had to do a clean install to fix it (saves preserved to be replaced after install.) I hate to say it but, typical EA there - I thin the Sims team did that patch LOL.

Still not fixed elf and Qunari arms - elf we all know bends oddly. Qunari if you don't have armor arms that have shoulder pieces (like a low level mage) the arms aren't connected to the body at the top of the shoulder, you can see the terrain, room whatever through the gap. That needs fixed too. Of course nothing was done about more ability slots or, the hold command not working as well as it could.

I had this happen with crafted Darkspawn Alpha Shield and Masterwork Seeker Shield, both Tier 2 schematics. Since then I've crafted a Gray Warden Shield (also Tier 2) as an emergency replacement for Blackwall, and it seems to work fine so far. However, the pre-patch shields are still broken. Hope this helps narrow down the issue.

I'm reading and posting from my mobile so please forgive me if I've overlooked something pertinent here.

But I really, really hate the single-player item dupe being removed. Why was this done? Who did it harm? I despise farming, but I've done it for my first playthrough because I wanted to play the game as designed my first time in. I have invested an embarrassingly huge amount of hours in playtime, and still not reached level 20 influence, but I do NOT want to do this in future playthroughs. Why not allow this simple thing to remain if it gives enjoyment to your customers and doesn't harm anyone? It's Single-Player, not an MMO.

Walk Toggle and Nexus Mod

I removed the Merged folder from Nexus and fired up the game... I now see the WALK TOGGLE in the Key Bindings

Thanks to those that suggested it.

>SNIPPED VID<

Thanks.  I've seen it. IMO, we can expect many, many more games like this.  EA's stated policy of MP-in-everything is bearing fruit and it's costing the SP 'experience', at least in the so-called AAA games.  Games have become a disposable money grab modality.  MP uber alles.  You make money through ridiculously priced 'chests' and microtransactions and don't have to hire losers like writers.  Point-shoot-'that's-not-what-yer-mam-said-last-night"-teabag-buy-the-next-shiny-bullet/pointless-gun-skin-repeat. Moola in the bank. It's reality television with a controller.

As long as marketing lies are more profitable than actual product quality, this is what we get and will continue to get.  I ain't even mad, simply because this comes as absolutely no surprise.

I'd say 'vote with your wallet', but people aren't going to do that.  If ME3, DA2, Watch Dogs, Destiny, AC:Unity, now DA:I and a dozen other crud-from-the-get-go games hasn't convinced anyone, nothing will.

I'm really glad I have hobbies.
