Why the game in origin says I am up to date? I have tried to check if I have a walk buttom and no, then I have repaired the game and still... nothing at all.

Remove the Nexus mod manager, it blocks the toggle form showing for some reason.

The crashes are still happen when you run the game in windowed fullscreen.

I went to Origins settings and turned everything off. No data sharing, no in-game Origins, no nothing..... I do not encounter problems and I do run DAI in Full Screen Mode. Plus, my highest graphics setting is HIGH, the rest on Medium, one or two Low and two are OFF.

Since the newest patch I am getting constant CTDs with no error message.

I am still getting jerk-tastic gameplay every few minutes, and weird periods with no SFX.

Good patch guys, Good patch.

Funny thing is, vanilla, the game ran just fine!

Using a third party program to circumvent Origin? Looks like a sure way to get banned.

Not in SP mode

Yeah... about the H command. Did some more testing... seems like  the H command is more like a game Pause command. Unlike DA2 where when you said "don't move"  they stayed frozen in place...but were able to fight from that position. In DAi I had to select a char then press H, rinse and repeat.

Bring back that "select everyone" feature followed by the proper Hold Position command.

The Hold command is one of several very questionable design decisions, like forced undies at Skyhold and tactical camera colliding with ground clutter.

Hold forces the character(s) to stay in their position and auto-attack until ordered to do anything else; it's a 'local' command like an attack order -- it will only remain in force until the next order. So characters will stop holding if you order them to attack a particular target or use an ability, although it seems that some abilities do not break hold. So it is impossible to simultaneously order a character to hold in a position and to attack a particular targe or to use an ability. It would make much more sense if the Focus/Hold/Disengage commands worked like global orders that control general character behavior -- so a character on 'hold' will remain in place until faced with a conflicting command or until combat ends. At the moment commands like hold are misleading and frustrating at best and wholly useless at worst.

Speaking of undies at Skyhold, I'm 70 hours into my second playthrough using Cheat Engine's clothes toggle, and have yet to see this alleged clipping issue that is so dire as to prevent any clothing customization at Skyhold. The only clipping I've seen so far regarding clothes was at Haven, where during a cutscene the Inquisitor rests her hands on her thighs and her hands clip through the leg armor.

That said, I haven't spent this much money on a video game since Mario Kart 64, and I'd happily spend this much money again on a game of this kind. Despite the assorted bugs, it's been a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Ever since I downloaded patch 3, my game FPS has dropped dramatically...unplayable. anyone else having this problem. R290x AMD FX8350 4.0, using Windows 8.1 when using Mantle or Direct X. My FPS before was 60-70, min 50...now 44 min 15-19? I'm now experiencing the problems many encountered at first HELP!

So, now my companions don't disappear and party banter is fixed for me. But i can't get to trigger Iron Bull and Blackwall's missions. They usually are given after Here Lies The Abiss or the Winter Palace, but i already did those. Also, i've spoken all topics with them at Skyhold and i even met the Chargers. Someone has the same problem?  :pinched:

Whelp. I was playing fine last week until this week my lovely Origin said that I had to update the game or I couldn't play it. A few of you know about that sweet little message. No matter how I clicked it the update button would not update. So, now I cannot play my game unless I go offline meaning no syncing, no multiplayer, and no new characters to create.

Now, while I'm relieved that I can still get to the game in some manner, even if offline... what bothers me is my responses received from the help line. I spoke with them twice. Received broken English both times. I asked if this had anything to do with the patch and I'd wait if it did... "Okay. I tell you." Silence. "First you do what I say. We troubleshoot. Delete your cache and tell me if work." *face palm*

Can I have Patch 2 back? XD

Just noticed a very positive change that came with this patch - while creature research items still appear under the "valuables" tab, they appear there only when you are browsing your inventory, not when you are selling stuff. When you are selling stuff, the creature research items don't appear in the inventory at all, so you can't accidentally sell them. This is a good thing.

So I currently cannot play the game. There are two different instances: creating a character and playing a load game.

Creating a New Character:

Everything goes well up until your new character is supposed to stagger up from the ground.

No character shown getting up, just green fog. Then it skips to the 5 face choices but doesn't show any faces.

All that shows is a green background and flashes of yellow light.

Repairing the game has had no effect on the new character screen.

Loading Saved Game:

The entire screen is all rainbow flashes, no matter which way I turn the camera. Occaisonally I'll see a flash of door or wall, but it's extremely disorienting and really not at all playable.

I've checked for updates and repaired the game through Origin. If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know.

Please fix broken skills before anything else. Stuff like the double weakness bug, deathblow consuming 100 stamina, passives not working. Please make this into a working game before trying to make it balanced.

At the moment commands like hold are misleading and frustrating at best and wholly useless at worst.

Hold plus left click (or left click with an ability) will not break the hold order. If the character is set to follow self and the target you gave them moves out of LoS then they will acquire a new target. If following or defending someone else they will acquire a new target per those instructions, but won't move if all potential targets move out of LoS.

A right click, however, overrides all previous orders and they won't switch target until that right clicked enemy is dead, moving as needed to kill it.

The hold system in this game is much better and more flexible than previous titles...with respect, people are just doing it wrong.

Ugh, forget my post. Hopefully when I actually play, I don't get all these stupid problems others have gotten.

Man, I really hate "progress" sometimes.

I'd say 'vote with your wallet', but people aren't going to do that.  If ME3, DA2, Watch Dogs, Destiny, AC:Unity, now DA:I and a dozen other crud-from-the-get-go games hasn't convinced anyone, nothing will.

Well, I'm beginning to learn about EA. Their name on any title spells doom.

Their recent UFC title was similarly plagued by heinous bugs: it was a game I really wanted, but the minute I found out that they were involved, I was all "okay, let's just wait to see how it is on launch." And that's what we have to do. If it's good ... buy it. If it's not, don't. Don't preorder, don't get sucked into stupid "free at launch give-a-ways," and stop feeding the machine that is "release crap, grab the cash and run."

ME3, Watched Dogs, Destiny, AC Unity are all titles I really wanted ... but I waited ... I didn't buy into the hype ... and look at the dogshite they turned out to be.

If more gamers just *waited* before buying, game companies would have to start delivering better quality on launch, but it has to start with us.

Once upon a time, EA made the perfect baseball game: MVP 2004 was their last title and it's STILL BETTER than 2Ksports MLB 2K14 (now on consoles only).

To those having the problem where the game suddenly exits to desktop on PC, what helped me was lowering my ram frequency to 1333 in Bios. Apparently after patch 2 this became a problem, and I saw it suggested in another forum, and I never had this problem again.

And for those having directX problems, go to your computer, and find the file named Program File(x86). Then go to Origin Games in that, and find Dragon Age Inquisition. go to _Installer, then directx, then file called: redist. Right click on DXSETUP, and run it as an administrator. That helped my problem with that.

It's really SAD that we're having to figure out ways around the problems with their game, and having to deal with all these problems has completely turned me away from both Bioware and EA. Which is really sad because the Mass Effect series is my favorite of all time, and is hands down the games I have put the most hours into. But I will not be purchasing Mass Effect 4. I couldn't play this game for almost 2 weeks trying to figure out all the problems. I really hope those having problems will continue to complain, and will not buy their next product because their handling of this situation has been absolutely horrid. Along with their handling of most their recent titles as I have come to find out. It's crazy how far they have fallen from Mass Effect 1 and Dragon Age Origins, to this broken mess. It was like a spit in the fact to see this game get GOTY and them go on vacation like they did a great job smh. And this latest patch didn't fix most of the things people were having problems with. Including broken passives. Although they never fixed some of them in DA:O. Guess we're just gonna have to wait till modders can truly get a hold of this and take it to it's full potential.

Saying all that, once I was actually able to play the game it is fun. But with all the problems it barely makes it worth the trouble.

I get that patches are hard but isn't the whole raison d'etre of QA teams to avoid  this kind of screw up?

The only issue I have is my toon getting stuck in the Fade when making a new game. The prison cutscene failed to load. I had to try three times, repair, before the thing finally kicked in on the 4th attempt.

Why am I being asked to register my game for a THIRD time now? On a server I CAN'T connect to? Again?

I activated the game the day I purchased.

I had to activate it AGAIN after over 200 hours played and ran into this exact same issue. Here's my post over at the answer hq you guys keep referring to cause you don't want to actually interact with people having problems

That thread is 86 pages and going and has some how been marked as solved. No one there actually helped me do anything, and when I finally got a hold of someone after several hours of waiting in queue they just had me do completely unrelated nonsense like clear my cache which didn't resolve anything. The problem fixed itself about 12 hours after it initially happened.

And here I am AGAIN. I was JUST PLAYING THIS GAME 20 minutes ago and now I can't cause I've been asked to activate my game for a THIRD time and ONCE AGAIN I can't connect to your worthless servers.

Can someone actually respond to this?

This is just EA

Huge marketing teams

Budget QA and support

All this with a 24 hr window for refunds

Only way they've been getting money from me last few years was by slapping Bioware on their titles.

Now I don't see the distinction, was a fool to believe otherwise, gave them the benefit of the doubt until everything just piled up and I could no longer be blind by the fact that I and many others been decieved, eating up their lies giving them the benefit of the doubt, and then ignored as hey, we don't matter anymore - we've already given them our money.

After I get my $90 worth with DAI using MODS that actually fix the game, Origin will be uninstalled along with the only 2 games on it; ME3 and DAI.

This just isn't worth it guys, we're dealing with EA, not the Bioware of old here.

Lol same here i dont buy any other EA titles as i find they do not make what i want anyways. Bio titles the only exception as their games good enough to kill time with but DA:I has made me reconsider them as well.

Graphic glitch, happens to me as well.
