Ok, is there is supposed to be grass growing on the roofs of houses? Is that insulation or graphical glitch?

Since I'm a serious human bean I'll answer this. Yes. Great form of insulation and protective membrane.

On the positive side, it appears 2 hander detonators were stealth fixed, which is odd. You would figure that would be included in the patch notes considering how big a deal it is.

Oh that tickled me good. I was trying to give the benefit.... (laughing and crying is good).

The Hold command is one of several very questionable design decisions, like forced undies at Skyhold and tactical camera colliding with ground clutter.

Hold forces the character(s) to stay in their position and auto-attack until ordered to do anything else; it's a 'local' command like an attack order -- it will only remain in force until the next order. So characters will stop holding if you order them to attack a particular target or use an ability, although it seems that some abilities do not break hold. So it is impossible to simultaneously order a character to hold in a position and to attack a particular targe or to use an ability. It would make much more sense if the Focus/Hold/Disengage commands worked like global orders that control general character behavior -- so a character on 'hold' will remain in place until faced with a conflicting command or until combat ends. At the moment commands like hold are misleading and frustrating at best and wholly useless at worst.

Speaking of undies at Skyhold, I'm 70 hours into my second playthrough using Cheat Engine's clothes toggle, and have yet to see this alleged clipping issue that is so dire as to prevent any clothing customization at Skyhold. The only clipping I've seen so far regarding clothes was at Haven, where during a cutscene the Inquisitor rests her hands on her thighs and her hands clip through the leg armor.

That said, I haven't spent this much money on a video game since Mario Kart 64, and I'd happily spend this much money again on a game of this kind. Despite the assorted bugs, it's been a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

If you've got your behaviors set up properly you shouldn't have to micro-manage your troops which will allow the hold command to work.

Set your ranged folks to follow your tank, double click them to where you want them to go (so that they hold once they get there) or just do a group hold since all you really need them to do is stay outta aoe/melee range, and then sicc your tank on an enemy. They will fire focus fire whatever your tank is attacking, and will you use their abilities to set off combos on their own.

I'm with you on wishing it worked in the way you described, but basically the hold command was designed for people who don't micro-manage as opposed to people that do.

Dude. That's awesome. Adopting strategy for second playthrough now.

yeah, I've been using that strategy as well and it works pretty good. Except I set my ranged to defend tank instead of follow. Makes for longer living tank and more dangerous enemies to be killed first.

Ok, sencond playthrough and seeing for the first time: birds flying through buildings and grass growing on the roofs. Also, headless people sparring around Cullen and Cassandra in Haven. Also, facial textures on Chancellor Roderic keep changing. One second he's baby-face. The next he's got age spots and partial beard. Same driver (AMD beta), version 1.0.0.4. Also, CTDs are much more common when going from live-action to a scripted cutscene. It's happening a lot more often.

I was terrified to start my game after reading about all the issues, so far after playing for about an hour I have not noticed any improvement in the party banter, BUT I have been spending most of that time in the Cradle of Sulevin so that doesn't exactly count I guess, but I have had one banter so far.
Which is about what I got before, about one banter an hour, sometimes less and sometimes I would get 3-4 banters in a row and then complete silence for the next 3-4 hours.

But we'll se..

For me the patch has made things a lot better, the walk toggle works perfectly and for some reason my graphics are much better, I can actually have it on ultra now without lag.

Will keep reading this thread though since you'll never know when my game starts acting weird..

I doubt Bioware doesn't care about these issues, I am sure that the people working on it are working hard. I just doubt that there is a big team on it now that the game is out...which is a shame. I love the game but it was released too early. You guys should have postponed it more.

*Sighs*

Updated to 3.

Started new game. Other than all customized graphic settings reverting, everything SEEMED to be ok.

Then I noticed that I'm getting no Ambiente dialogue in Haven. No screaming soldiers. Leliana doesn't have her argument with Roderick as I approach with Cass, Varric & Solas. This NEVER happened pre Patch 3.

I'm gonna try a Repair/Reinstall. But I don't have much hope. I only went for Patch 3 to get more banter & now it's even more quiet.
 :(

Same story. Wish they'd just say "Yeah, its broken, we'll fix it" outright. I don't even want deadlines for it, just acknowledgement.

Wait... I just checked your link...

Alright, that's it.

Why are you surprised? Console exclusives have been around for years. And, if I read it correctly, the exclusitivity is time limited which means everyone else will get it later.

Besides, look on the good side of it.... by the time the PC platform DLC arrives. less bugs will be found.

Hey Biowarez!

Stop trying to patch this game, OK?...just STOP IT! You people clearly don't know what you are doing so just leave the damn game alone already so we can at least play it for what it's worth before you completely destroy it.

I have never in my entire life seen such incompetence from a games company trying to patch their own game and failing at every attempt!

I'm sure some "modders" (you know, those guys who actually care about the game) will come along and be able to (eventually) do a much better job at ironing out bugs and stuff, using tools they create themselves from home.

Really, just STEP THE F*CK AWAY FROM THE GAME! You're embarrassing yourselves!

(...Unbelievable)

I have made the wrong assumptions. That's why I guess. Besides by itself it wouldn't have phased me, everything just piled up.

As for being around for years, sure, doesn't mean I have to support the practice of cutting off their own fanbases taking bribes from Sony or Microsoft. ME DLC was not Xbox exclusives, nor was DA DLCs. Skyrim's DLCs sure, but we had mods so we didn't give a sh-t about the wait, the mods that required the DLCs was only after it was released on PC.

Honestly at this point I wonder about the "By PC gamers for PC gamers" video, sure it featured the Bioware devs. But who edited it?

SAME HERE! My second playthrough is actually worse than the original. More CTDs and the sound is all jacked. I'm reinstalling drivers and suites after effectively removing them first. I'm almost positive that it has to do with AMD's driver being moved up to the current 14.12 Omega and then rolling back to the 14.beta. I am going to go through the steps that I mentioned as well earlier about a clean boot as well. I noticed that I have Raptr enabled again and once it was gone the game became console-playable.

Hope this isn't a dumb question that's already been answered several times - new to the forums and haven't found an answer after sifting through several dozen pages.

I've got 75 hours clocked and I'm about to do Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts (just about everything else I can do right now, save some characters' personal quests, has been completed at this point). Since Dorian's personal quest has been fixed in the new patch, will his quest now trigger automatically, or have I progressed too far? I'm pretty positive I had the bug that prevented his quest (and the cutscene about Felix's probable death) from triggering, since I've only made choices that have earned Dorian's approval.

As the great Fonzi said in Happy Days, "Exactamundo." I'd rather wait it out and see a polished (nothing is perfect) port of it to PC than see this again. It's a prudent call in my humble opinion.

It is indeed, it's a method of roofing which has been used in various places in Europe, probably since time immemorial.

(my parents actually live in a house with a grass roof similar to that)

That news is ancient and it's still not exclusive. They just get it a bit before the other platforms do. Kind of how we get broken patches before the other platforms do.
