So I currently cannot play the game. There are two different instances: creating a character and playing a load game.

Creating a New Character:

Everything goes well up until your new character is supposed to stagger up from the ground.

No character shown getting up, just green fog. Then it skips to the 5 face choices but doesn't show any faces.

All that shows is a green background and flashes of yellow light.

Repairing the game has had no effect on the new character screen.

Loading Saved Game:

The entire screen is all rainbow flashes, no matter which way I turn the camera. Occaisonally I'll see a flash of door or wall, but it's extremely disorienting and really not at all playable.

I've checked for updates and repaired the game through Origin. If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know.

You need to login to the Keep and select a Thedas world state. A custom one you made or choose the default. I think you need to do this before every NEW GAME selection.

Why am I being asked to register my game for a THIRD time now? On a server I CAN'T connect to? Again?

I activated the game the day I purchased.

I had to activate it AGAIN after over 200 hours played and ran into this exact same issue. Here's my post over at the answer hq you guys keep referring to cause you don't want to actually interact with people having problems

That thread is 86 pages and going and has some how been marked as solved. No one there actually helped me do anything, and when I finally got a hold of someone after several hours of waiting in queue they just had me do completely unrelated nonsense like clear my cache which didn't resolve anything. The problem fixed itself about 12 hours after it initially happened.

And here I am AGAIN. I was JUST PLAYING THIS GAME 20 minutes ago and now I can't cause I've been asked to activate my game for a THIRD time and ONCE AGAIN I can't connect to your worthless servers.

Can someone actually respond to this?

I believe that is an EA Origins' DRM issue and not Bioware's.

Interesting enough, when I re-installed DAI I went through that nonsense as well.

I had no issues with lack of banter before this patch (except for in the Western Approach). Now I've started a new game and none of my party members are talking in the Hinterlands. Previously they've always had at least 3-4 conversations while I'm questing, but I've been stood in the same spot without any enemies or whatnot around and have not heard a single banter. What's odd is that I played through my previous pt after having installed the patch, and heard a few banters during that run.

Am I being paranoid or is it related to this character? Should I try starting over again?

Edit: They are still commenting on the environments and stuff. Just not talking to each other.

I appreciated the fixes, but there are still gamebreaking issues to be fixed. I am particularly concerned about the right mouse button situation, where you have to hold it. I understand that 90% of all playtesting of this game evidently happens on a gamepad, however to better get my point, you could ask some of your testers to play with keyboard and mouse and look around like they would in an action game, often. You might need to pay them extra for the health risk though (not joking, it can cause serious injury, speaking from experience, it's why I stopped playing the game, the hand took a week to heal).

In order to avoid repeating myself, find the details of what I am asking here. It's not much and it's not some subjective total gameplay overhaul. It's just some very important issues that have to be fixed.

And for the love of Andraste, please DO playtest your game on keyboard and mouse more often.

Is this the new patch thing? Im on ps4 and haven't goten the patch, but have played at least 7 times, and my play threw banter is random. i had one game with okay banter and one with none, and degrees in between that, so not sure the patch broke anything just didn't solve the issue.

You can eventually download Outcome and play game without Origins. Helped solve my problem with DXcrashesh and performance issues.

Did you applied fps fix? Becouse that cousing the problem with walking

Works like a charm... Thanks

Noticed that the game loads and exits much faster on my SSD drive.  CPU utilization is still 43-46% even at idle... and that's 5 of 6 cores ....

If you've got your behaviors set up properly you shouldn't have to micro-manage your troops which will allow the hold command to work.

Set your ranged folks to follow your tank, double click them to where you want them to go (so that they hold once they get there) or just do a group hold since all you really need them to do is stay outta aoe/melee range, and then sicc your tank on an enemy. They will fire focus fire whatever your tank is attacking, and will you use their abilities to set off combos on their own.

I'm with you on wishing it worked in the way you described, but basically the hold command was designed for people who don't micro-manage as opposed to people that do.

Neat. I'll give it a shot and see what happens. Will be a bit annoying to have to change party orders every time I change the tank, but might work better than current micro. Micromanaging the party is fun in open spaces, but has become rather tedious in confined spaces because the tactical camera gets stuck on everything and giving detailed orders in the standard mode is inefficient.

In the previous two DA games, allowing the AI to manage spells was a great way to get the party wiped. In Origins, for example, my mages would consistently combo Storm of the Century -- which was good, on top of the party -- which was bad. So I assumed that Inquisition's targetting AI was equally inept at distinguishing friend from foe. So far I've only been allowing the party use of combo triggers, which they're fairly good at saving for actual combos, excepting Dispel, which they use on everything. If the AI can handle itself in a fight, then I'd have no issues letting it do its thing while I watch the fireworks.

Patch3 is for the PC folks playing in SP mode as well as those playing MultiPlayer. Console patch will follow.... don't know when.

Try going back to  Haven, then speak to everyone and mixup your team then go back to Hinterlands and move around...

EDIT: Often, when speaking to your companions, it opens new banter while questing...

Transmute Magic - Dispel Improvement doesn't work anymore. So I wonder how long till the next patch? Any estimation on that?

I don't trust 3rd party software, specially when it deals with my data. Be careful. If something's too good to be true... just look at DAI. :P

First you have to let them know of that bug. Then one month for meetings, discussions, planning... followed by 1 day of coding, 0 seconds of testing and voila, new patch.

Outcome works.  Just block it in your firewall before you use it.  It still works like a charm and doesn't complain. If it can't talk to the 'Net, it can't tell your secrets.  I've used it with everything I'd normally run through Origin and the games run better now, much smoother and less crash-prone.

Another instance of fans fixing EA's broke-ass junk...

Heh, that's how it's been since november, one broken patch a month, then a fix a few weeks later all while complaining how difficult that fix was and we should shut the fck up and be glad they even listened to us in the first place.

Since I have experienced none of the other problems with this patch I decided to try and start a new game and look, "no world state found, using default"
Really Bioware? I have five world states, two of which I have previously used - one of these is the one I am using in my current playthrough.
My sister comes this weekend to try the game and she will want to use the world state of her Brosca-Warden.

Bioware, this needs to be fixed ASAP

Already done. This is my 5th playthrough, I'm not new to setting up a new character.

But thank you for the advice,

Yeah, I am not overly hopefull...and the fact that they are not here talking to us. I mean come on, say something.
Even an "oh, that's not good we will look into it" would help.

It's interesting how much time they spent on the forum talking to fans and holding their livestreams and all before the games launch and now, nothing.

And not being able to use my world states is a game breaker for me. I have been tolerant and forgiving with the terrible PC UI, the terrible PC Controls, the party banter bug, but this? Enough already!

Where's my elf-loving forum friend? I keep logging into here to watch his head explode when he realizes that the male elf model wasn't fixed in this patch. I'm looking forward to his reaction more than I am any patches, tbh.

World state imports form the Keep are working fine for me now, they weren't for a few hours after patch 3 but, they work now.

Thanks for the tip... I have it blocked via WFC (Windows Firewall Control)..It's a 3rd party free open source front-end program that gives you all the Windows Firewall option at your fingertips.... it does not change/modify Windows Firewall...Bio should look at this UI for power and simplicity.
