For pc, yes. No change log or eta for patch 3 on consoles yet. You will have to wait tell us pc player are finished beta testing the broken mess before it comes to consoles.

After downloading the patch my game lags like crazy. It's completely unplayable. Tried changing the settings down to low and it still hasn't made a lick of difference. The game isn't even using up 30% of my system resources and ran just fine before downloading the patch. <_<

That's deeply weird, because while Patch 3 broke a few things (like crafted shields) and made the lack of party banter and music worse, system load seems better now.  Previously, if I tabbed out of the game, CPU load would skyrocket and my case fans sounded like they were trying to achieve escape velocity.  After Patch 3 system load in general seems more stable, tabbed out or not, and there doesn't seem to be a sudden heat spike.

I normally don't swear, but you've got me, fellow developers of Patch 3. Crafting is pretty much broken after your tinkering. What I experience :

 - Custom shields armour rating doesn't just go to 0 for shields from prior saves, but for also for freshly made shields after-patch after a little while ( well, one day in my case)

 - Custom armour put my defences (melee, ranged and magic) in negative. It is not just display bug - my Inquisitor dies now after being hit with pencil.

I was perfectly content with the game prior to this patch. Honestly, I have ten programmers under my supervision, with such skill level as you demonstrate, I would fire you on spot with no references.

honestly at this point i too am convinced that bioware devs lack talent, or atleast the dragon age team. The game is wrecking people's pc and causing all kinds of trouble.

for me its the opposite,   after patch 3, all of a sudden my fans are skreeching again, and hardware and system resources are going haywire. To be fair they always been doing that when playing DAI, but now its much worse. I cant believe that performance has been getting progressively worse with each new patch

He's already reached stage 5, as have I

 duh its not getting fixed because its intentional. I remember ranting about this from the get-go, and then we had people harping on us "meanies" who thought the male elves looked freakish. People were even going on about how normal male humans irl are built like male elves, and that its the realistic portrayal of a human male irl, that thread still cracks me up

Hi guys. I've been going through this thread for patch 3 and after experiencing the horror of patch 2 before the hotfix, I backed up my game folder and went offline with Origin to avoid problems with this new patch. I realize that people are more likely to come here when they have problems, but I would like to know if there are people who have downloaded patch 3 and ARE NOT having issues with armor values, banter, and etc??? It seems possible that this patch may have actually fixed someone's game lol? This forum hasn't exploded with quite the same ferver as it did after patch #2...  I mean my 20 something hasn't become an octogenarion so I'm guessing it's somewhat less terrible?

Well, for me the multiplayer doesn't connect or disconnects 7 out of 10 tries, party banter which seem to be okay in patch 2 is now broken. The custom shields are broken with 0 AC rating. New custom shields are okay. Some of the values on armor seem to be misbehaving. I still have the sound stutter issue which has always been there since patch 1. The most alarming thing for me is that my laptop sounds like it's going to take off into space which it didn't do previously.  Other then that, it's okay.  :)   lol

There's indication that the shield issue may be cosmetic only (even though the tooltip and character record don't show it, they may in fact be providing the expected damage mitigation), but unless you feel like testing it out, be aware that any crafted shields you have could lose their armor bonus.

I didn't notice any real difference with banter (though I haven't played a whole lot yet), but it never works the same way twice, so who can say what it would do for you.

Unless you have a bunch of crafted shields, I'd go ahead and upgrade. I haven't really encountered any issues so far.

Fixed issue that could result in a cutscene not firing for Dorian’s plot when players enter the Gull and Lantern.

This was not fixed. Just yesterday, I (again) had to load a quicksave inside the tavern, to get the cutscene.

I wonder - maybe this patch is suposed to work only on new games and break existing saves? Like with my party banter, which actually died, after the patch.

Nope. Check out the thread on this, it's hilarious. Poor Lord Surinen (let's give some credit where credit is due) and other fellow elf lovers.

What can I say, Jackal?  We can see now why the devs 'don't engage' on their own forums.

How dare you slander the BioWare Devs like that!! All of you, everyone in this thread hating on devs! If only you guys knew even half the truth of the situation you wouldn't all be so stubborn in your own ignorance!

It isn't the Dev's fault that they don't own computers. Having budget cutbacks from EA meant that all their computers had to go as the hardware requirements and software management needed on those systems for quality game development were frankly just far too costly for the moderately conservative company. In order to keep these overheads down and still develop a superior product, EA had Xbox Ones with a Frostbite Engine app installed at all the Dev's office desks to ensure that their hard work would be unaffected by this transitioning process.

The problem arose when Microsoft wanted a type of sponsorship fee from EA for using their product to develop their games, which would have ultimately voided all the hard work the finance managers at EA were doing. Luckily however, BioWare's producers proved their worth by bargaining a deal with Microsoft which meant that all extra add-on content for the game would come exclusively to the Xbox One first. A deal that Microsoft begrudgingly accepted. This cost-saving deal for EA got the BioWare producers who came up with the idea a hefty pay rise of an extra 50¢ per hour.

But again, I must stress. None of this is strictly the developer's fault. They are the soldiers on the frontline here... The monkeys at the desk, the trench diggers, the pawns. Which is why it irks me so much when they get all the blame. If an officer gets shot because the trench he was in wasn't deep enough, is it the trench digger's fault? Or is it the general's fault for giving him a teaspoon to dig with instead of a shovel?

You all want the BioWare Devs to interact with their fanbase? Then petition their masters to create a BioWare forums app on their Xbox Ones... Or at the very least, waive their ultra-conservative (non-existent) internet data usage for their Xbox Ones so that they can at least use their browsers at work.

Well despite breaking crafting and not really fixing anything much, patch 3 does seem to have increased performance slightly on my laptop. Woot.

I've also experienced my first ever CTD during combat, so every silver lining has a cloud...

Before patch 3 I could run this fine.

But since patch 3 I've experience 3 random client closes.

So I have to boot up the game again and work out where I was up to & continue.

Correct me if im wrong but i believe patch 3 was mainly focused on fixing bugs/gltiches and adding a few new features. Nothing on fixing or improving the game's performance. This game seriously has issues with Nvidia hardware.

You say that - but my crashes to desktop came with AMD 280 on a relatively brand new PC.

This patch seriously broke something. I've gone over 200 hours with no real performance issues. There would be a direct x crash here or there, but no real stuttering, or major slow down, or anything like that. Ever since the patch though I'm getting these crazy slow downs from MASSIVE cpu hogging which I'd never experienced before. Everything will be going along fine and then all of a sudden my fps drops to 3 and when I pull up the task manager my cpu is suddenly running 100%.
