No more duplication exploit, no more unlimited buying power, no more free Skyhold furniture from VR, no more free codex entries - all of those buy mode exploits have been fixed.

Whoa... are you for real? Or are you kidding? I'm in the denial phase of grief...

I'm still speculating of course, but perhaps this limit was introduced to prevent chars running off after fleeing enemies. Often I'd have my chars, after a battle, spot a wounded, hostile animal, and run off after it, unless I clicked "disengage". Maybe they wanted to prevent this behavior. Not very helpful in a dragon fight though, where you want your ranged characters to keep a fairly long distance.

Which, once again, proves the designed is for button smashing and not tactical.

I am not sure if a new patch increased the occurence of crashes or a new locations are more prone to it (like Skyhold) but the last 2 days it has been quite common I experience 5-10 of them per hour. Once I was lucky and didn't have one per 2 hours (out of circa 8).

I turned off extra Win7 features and all unnecessary applications to limit any possible interference.

It looks like DAI is waking up my almost forgotten old obsession by saving every 5 seconds out of fear for loosing a progress by a crash :D.

No patch for PS4?  In my game  the banter system doesn't work well...the characters walk in an absolute and creepy silence with few words after hours  if I'm lucky. If I'm not...zero banter with all the characters. Only silence. :(   :(   And no Solas' personal quest in my first run. :( What a pity...because DA:I is an awesome game... :(

On PC, the banter system doesn't work as intended either.  I think someone mentioned on the thread events are simply interrupting the banter when they do fire. I'm beginning to believe that now. Banter seem to work fine when I'm at camp just hanging around but on the move, it does not fire up at all. The environmental dialogs fire up but then get interrupted by going into a menu or switching to a NPC to open locks, etc.

Okey....wow...just wow!

At first I had no problems, everything worked fine. Better than fine.

And then I noticed the weird codex bug that I mentioned earlier. Annoying and stupid sure, but I could live with that.

Then I noticed that the party banter is worse than before! I have been playingon and off since 8 this morning (here in Sweden it is now 16.21)

I have gotten two banters. Two.

Before I got one an hour, sometimes there would be two-three hours with total silence and then I would get three-four banters in a row.

Now basically nothing. I am at the end game but I have not exhausted the banter, I have been running around with a basically new party today to make sure.

And now...this... this is awful!
I have been so upset abot the embarassing tactics but I could live with it since the AI seem intelligent enough (as long as you set them to follow themselves at least)

But now...I tried to fight the Highland ravager, the last thing I do before facing the end fight.

And this is painful. During the dragon fight's I usually play as my mage, whoever that is. In this particular fight it's Solas. So..Solas stands away from the dragon blasting it with ice and once in a while my three melee characters suddenly get confused with what they are supposed to do.
So they run towards Solas for some reason. And now, this is not when the dragon is flying or anything. This is in the middle of the fight, they are attacking the dragon and then suddenly, "Oh hi Solas!" and all three runs towards him, but then suddenly they realise, "Oh dragon!" and turn back again. When they are almost back with the dragon "Oh, Solas!" and run back to him only now they run in to each other and stand there spinning around in a big stupid lump of idiots while the dragon is basically roasting them.

What the...?

This has never happened before.
I've seen the mabaris and the wolves do this, but never my party.

The AI seem to have lost all intelligence with the new patch.

Me too. I'm struggling with Patch 3. I took a break from the game because it's an exercise in futility for me.

Is the wolf den piece of the mossaic in the Hinterlands still unreacheable?

Per many posters, yes. I can't even attempt it because when I exit the wartable, the game CTD. I personally can't confirm it, but I've read a post or two saying that issue is still unresolved. I just reread my post. Bioware? Hello? PR? Hello?

Yea, I'm not having any banter going on anymore either...*sigh*...I know that's kind of a small thing, but all the continuous BS has just made me not even want to play the game anymore. I seriously wish I could just get my money back, and re-buy the game in a couple years after modders have fixed their mess.

The environmental dialogs fire up but then get interrupted by going into a menu or switching to a NPC to open locks, etc.

I've experienced this myself.

Systems Programming use parent tasks and subtasks that run in parallel al the time. When parallel tasks need to communicate to each other to pass information or simply saying " don't interrupt me until I tell you it's OK", you must design a proper way to do this.

One way is to design a Global Pipe where each task is capable of reading from and writing to.or set up a Global Flag Structure containing a number of flags...one being a Dialogue Flag. Sub tasks that can interrupt a dialogue must first check this flag for permission... meaning that when a Dialogue is about to start, the Dialog Flag is set to "don't interrupt me" and reset when the dialogue is completed.

Either DAI has no such communication between tasks  (very bad) or the subtask fails to check for permission (bug). Really, this is basic architectural design stuff...

That's just great. Looks like I'm still going to be playing the vanilla game for a while. Good thing there is no story DLC out at the moment that would force me to update.

Before Patch 3, I got banter a little more frequently.  Now I have the Party Banter Bug.  My group just has nothing to say to each other.  The silence in the Western Approach is soul draining.  I've tried switching up the party members. Hanging out at the camp. Resting. Reloading. Traveling back to Skyhold and returning.  No one is talking.  Not a one.  :(

Any chance for a return look at the Banter?  The companion chatter is one of the things I love about the DA games.

I've been doing a little digging and so far, patch3 (on PC) broke:

1. Codices. A codex will give me experience but will no longer give me a text window.  It does unlock a brand new codex as per normal, which I can then search for my codex for (what a pain).

2. MSAA. Toggling this on, now, causes an instant crash as soon as I try and load or start a new game. Subsequently opening the game crashes on start up and I have to manually edit the profilesave_profile to default values to access the game again. No way of doing it with the game. This may or may not be related to nVidia's 345.27 drivers.

3. Walk/Run toggle does not appear for me. I have no command line arguments, no mods, pure vanilla game. Doesn't show up.

Will add more later, it's been a long day and I've forgotten some.,

Well unsure if this has been brought up, but I'm certainly not scrolling through all these pages. Since the patch my inventory is bugged, it shows 16 of 60... I deleted the update and run repair, the bug still remains... even sold everything in my inventory including crafting materials, and it still shows 16/60 when the inventory is 100 percent empty.

Running latest 347.25 Nvidia drivers acquired via Geforce Experience, for the GTX970, if this helps anyone. Fully optimised to ultra (accept for the screen, it is set to windowed and no boarder) setting and no crashes.

edit: also the lack of banter seems to have gotten worse not better, since the patch... music is to brief and the games ambiance is not that enjoyable to have music played so intermittently.

@Bioware

Thank you so much for the patch!! :D

I am especially happy that you have:

*Added key binding that allows players to walk :)

*Added mouse cursor scaling :)

*Changed party banter system to be less random to prevent extra-long periods where no conversations would occur <3

*Changed Tactical Camera so that it no longer re-centers when the player changes party members :)

nope

this patch broke my banter entirely

IDK if this helps any but I have a few oddities to report:

Since installing Patch 3 the following things have happened:

  • Less NPC chatter at Haven (I started a NEW game to test). Which is good per se because it got overlaid & hard to listen to, but it's kinda borked. I.E. NPCs walking up to Flissa, Threnn etc. to talk to them.......some will remain mute OR get stuck in a walking loop/door and that never happened before. NPC chatter in the Hinterlands is a bit more sparse too but less jarringly so.
  • I have yet to see how this Patch improved banter/banter frequency. This time around I got Viv & Sera ASAP to get more banter in the Hinterlands.....but I'm getting very little. And strangely enough....I'm only getting banter I hadn't heard before? Dunno if it's a co-incidence or a bug, but 12 hours in, only banter I had not heard before & no banter I am familiar with (I beat the game twice before)
  • I never used to get CTDs before Patch 3. Now I do, usually right before a cutscene starts. The frequency isn't alarming (yet) but it is annoying.
  • I noticed that loading environments/NPCs is a lot smoother now (I'd have people not show up before, even quest givers.....and the exclamation mark would just fade off the map), so that's neat.

It's just so frustrating because I am watching a DAI LP without the banter bug and seeing how chatty ppl. CAN be just makes me so sad. I mean, after Patch 2, my pts got a lot chattier but I think Patch 3 reverted it? IDK. I know it's also frustrating to fix untracable bugs like that but.......there has to be a solution, no?

Whoa... are you for real? Or are you kidding? I'm in the denial phase of grief...

Not kidding, only way to get it sort of free now is to use a third party cheat or trainer. (Personally I like CE now that I finally figured out how to use it because despite have the potential to do all kinds of things, God Mode included, it's simple to toggle things on or off and only use them when you want or need the extra help or, just use it to edit power, perks skill points, etc...)

Not the Nvidia 345.27 driver. I am running that driver on my Titans and, no problems. I did have to do a clean uninstall/reinstall to get banter working post patch but, it's fine now. (I did preserve my saved games and replace them after the reinstall.) I have MSAA set to 4x as well as every other graphics setting maxed out. No crash.

The only reason I've seen for the r/w toggle not being listed at all in keybindings is the Nexus mod tool. Removing it solves that.
