I know all the party members not being controlled by the player auto attack ... but I didn't think the character that you were actively controlling would auto attack, though... seems I always had to click on my directive/opponent to initiate an attack ...

Oh well ... beside the point ... prefer that my main controlled character doesn't auto attack to tell you the truth ...

could be after using a skill you have to trigger the normal attack again, but with normal attacking it continues attacking (at least for me)

Is anyone else getting CTDs when trying to enter the War Room at Skyhold after patch 3? Never happened to me before, but now it occurs with disturbing regularity... Another bug introduced by the patch, or just coincidence?

Yup, getting the same problem. At first I thought it may be due to modding since it coincided with the first time I started using a few mods, but it appears it's a patch issue.. didn't go back to playing most of the time this occured. Testing my patience.

Okay, to anyone else unable to launch the game, I finally got it to work. If you have Win 8.1 this might work for you, too.

I just went in and uninstalled most of the January Windows Updates. I can't say exactly which one is the culprit, but I got about halfway through the list of January Updates before deciding to just restart my computer and see if the game would start. And it did.

So to anyone who is unable to launch the game after downloading Patch 3, go into your Windows Updates and uninstall some of the January updates.

Glad is working for you. Something about the banter bug? I´m still downloading, 33 %... Had time to do some hicking and enjoy fresh air tho. :P

The thing about Bioware now being EA´s new ******... Yeah, certainly hurts their reputation and how they are behaving, but maybe they were not ready to face problems with a huge game like this. Bite more than you can chew? And, this is also not only their first really big game but one that has a new engine. Yeah, they had 4 years to work with it. Yeah, they coulda delayed the launch, etc. But lately it seems that all the companies are experiencig problems with the current gen. Just look at Ubisoft. So, the question is, if they are not prepared for something why would they do it anyway? Money? Pressure from their dads (read EA)? Anyhow, like some folks already said, at least they are doing something. About PC gaming being mistreated badly, look at Rockstars policy. In the other hand, look at CDProjekt Red, they are a charm, but if something goes slightly wrong with TW3 realease people will burn them to ashes after all this **** going on. Between the money bitches of Rockstar and the (exaggeratedly and sometimes anoying) correct policy of companies like CDPR, Bioware and the rest are like floating on a limbo, speculating with their own futures. And us, the costumers.

It's called values based marketing.  Nothing wrong with that imho. Theirs are good values to market for a PC player.

More money, better games, no DRM, happy customers, less pirating, more money, better games... you get the drift.

Played about 12 h over the weekend. Banter finally started firing, though not nearly as often as previosuly. Oh, and Western Approach is still completely banter free.

I also got What Lies Dormant quest, which previosuly was bugged. But this is not mentioned in patch notes, so I wonder if it's unintentional fix?

And could someone please let me know, which conversation they mean here:

Fixed issue that could result in one of Dorian’s conversations not being available for some players.

Just a general hint, so I know if I'm still missing something. Nothing new happened in my talks with Dorian, and I don't know if didn't have this bug to begin with, or if the fix doesn't work (like the one with tavern didn't work for me).

Well obviously they didn't want to fix a specific spoiler point of the game that only you alone were thinking of.

Either THAT or they're horrible at proper communication.  Oh, my money is on that.

Yeah, i know, that was a subjective appreciation, mine. Anyway, agree with their intentions. Hope they don´t end up being sucked by some EA. Or get big and bad like Ubi or Rockstar (each one has different flaws, tho)

I think they are talking about Dorian´s side quest. Some ppl couldn´t trigger that or something related to that.

Lol FOE, you are on Berserker mode.

Hope so, yes, the Witcher 3 is a real turning point for them. They are playing with the BIG BOYS now.

I'm truly humbled by overall friendliness of your reply...

Could you be more specific? What is this specific point I'm ALONE thinking of?

Considering that the patch fixed certain bugs for some players, but not for the others, it's a legitimate question.

They remind me a bit to Rockstar when started to get scary. But the big R was always conceited and we-are-rebels-we-don´t-care-about-your-opinion. CDPR looks more pacifist. And yeah, i have a problem with R. Cause they started on the PC, they were made by PC costumers and now, look how they despise us. I really wish the best to CDP and CDPR.

If he´s more specific he will spoil something. Told you has to do with Dorian´s side quest. Not the Venatori related, the other one. Or maybe it was the Venatori one, can´t remember, but is about some of those 2 options.

The patch has several undocumented fixes, and this appears to be one of them.

It's not unusual for things to get fixed but not make it into the patch notes.

The conversation about the letter regarding Felix.

That conversation could fail to fire in some instances, making it impossible to start his main companion plot (which also meant he couldn't be romanced).

I can't tell you that there will be a Santa Claus, or a letter about Felix "mrufka_z".   I do sincerely hope that you enjoy the game even though I can't.

Is anyone else having a problem with Bull's cutscene where you play Grim?

I started a new game after the patch and when I reached Skyhold, every time I do that scene my armors are gone. Sometimes just the one I have equipped, sometimes all the medium armors I have in my inventory (character's a rogue so it's never the light or heavy armor that goes missing)...

Did I fail to mention that I made it into 3 hours in this stupid game before I turned it off?  I guess that I need a controller.

Are they "romancing" each other?  Because sometimes Bull and Grim will just stop talking...

Fear not, my console playing friend - DAI was made for you.  The patch only needs certification.

It must be nice.  One gets the whiff that DAI was likely meant to have been console-exclusive anyway and ported over for the PC only after someone grunted "but, money...!" at a meeting somewhere.

One also gets the horrible-yet-inevitable feeling that the next Mass Effect will be console-exclusive and thus avoid all these annoying PC quirks/toxic fans/any kind of integrity troubles that this "game" is currently undergoing.

My friend I would dare you to attempt to run this...... *game* if you wanna call it that on a console  never ever seen a game so badly made for anything.  had this game from day 1 and I just managed to get past haven last week. this has put me off buying any game since completely destroyed my faith in gaming.

No kiddin'?  It's just as much a glitchy broken pile of crap on a console as well?

I've gotta sit down - gettin' the vapours, I am...

Now come on, my endangered Chinese friend, DAI is quite clearly a console-first developed kinda 'game'.

Are you seriously intimating that EA fecked it across the board and it is not just we uppity PC players getting our comeuppance?

Inconceivable!

Pretty much, though PS4 and XBONE players seem to be quite happy.
