I wish it was true but it's not.  There is no click to move.

There was this tiny tiny little glimmer of hope. Was. Not Is.

Origin has just updated my DAI. I already installed Patch 3 last week. Anyone has any idea what it is? Thank you!

I'm being a bit lazy, so forgive me if the answer is easily found.  I thought I'd get the most direct answer by just asking here:

Patch 3 is the one that patches Dorian's quest, right?  Do we have word on when that is supposed to hit Xbox One, yet?

Hotfix for patch 3. Fixes the 0 armour shields BUT glitches and seems to reduce front armour. So now we still need a fix for the hotfix. We'll call it a coldfix.

Even Bioware is clueless, there are no patchnotes since yesterday. But it is already clear that this fixes at least three bugs: The crafted-shields-bug introduced with patch 3, the graphical glitch with the biggest mouse cursor introduced by patch 3 and the regions in the Exalted Plains.

 what exactly did they fudge up there?

The 21st region was undiscoverable. After patch 4 I traveled there and instantly got the note that the last region was discovered, quest completed. This may have already been included in Patch 3 though, but I paused playing because of the shield bug so I wouldn't know for sure. ;)

What a mess! Bioware is apparently incapable of successfully supporting their own game. Massive FAIL!

I wish they'd just quit and give/sell the franchise to someone else....like....CD Projekt RED. Those guys at least seem to know what they are doing and they don't make excuses for things being too hard. They just get it done.

I think it's time to call it quits.

You guys should all just stop it already. Patch 1, patch 2, patch 3, patch 3 hotfix, patch 3 coldfix, patch 3 redux, patch 4.... no one cares. There is no discussion to be had. You have heard the PC playerbase and the console playerbase. You have ignored them. And you are unable to turn DAI into a bug-free game. You have kicked the community that is the MP hornet nest repeatedly. Your employees continue to berate those users who have issues on reddit, twitter, and BSN. Your mods continue to censor people that express negative views of the game. And you are all in denial (Something that will last, I hope, only as long as it takes for you to be liquidated) of the poor piece of software you have created.

I thought I became one of the loudest voices against the BW/DAI hype-train when I joined a few months ago. I was wrong.

Every new subforum I visit I see people express themselves vehemently against the game, the bugs, the glitches, the broken promises; They all do it more articulately than I, they do it in fear of being censored (Many of the threads being locked; many of the comments being deleted), with more research to back their claims, and more hours invested in the game, and the only developer inclusion in those areas are those of belittlement and denial. To berate your own players, the people who pay your wages, is quite abhorrent.

The situation has gone beyond cordiality. I would implore you to simply stop trying. The game is fine as far as you're concerned. So no more patches. No more false promises. The game will remain as it is. Forever remembered Game of the Year by some, Lie of the Year for others. Which side people fall on does not concern you. Just end it already.

Nope. That issue was present from Patch 3 and was not introduced with the hotfix.

You can fix it yourself. Generate a new shield in the game by crafting, buying, or finding one. Unequip your current shield. Equip the new one. Ratings should display correctly now for all shields.

You may have to repeat the equip/unequip more than once. The important thing seems to be forcing the game to create a new shield.

I'd like to warn you that you are in an abusive relationship.

First step to healing is understanding that they do not love you back.

This is priceless.

I didnt want to install it, but of course it won tlet you play until you do. grr.

If you disconnect your PC from the Interwebz before you launch Origin/DAI you can play the game without Origin forcing you to update.

Lmao what? They don't even know what they fixed themselves? Could be true considering how many things they break.

NEW SHIELD BUGS, YAYY!!!!

Actually it looks like this issue predates patch 3, and is a rare case.  I reported it around here somewhere, but it got buried.  Oh well.  The hotfix today seems to have made it appear on toons which did not have it before.

Short form: a toon has base armor and front armor.  They will be the same unless you wear a shield, which makes front armor higher. Obviously.  This has been tested just in case, but yes.  As one would expect.

Issue:  a character bugs out - player or companion - at which point their "front" armor is lower than their "base" armor.  No amount of gear-shuffling fixes it, it's still true with NO gear on (the hidden "base gear" you can't remove), and that same gear works fine on someone else.

Ass-tanking for everyone!

Just checked now, and now my Cass, AND Blackwall both suffer from this bug. I'm going to try to relevel one of them, to see if that'll do anything.

Edit: This bug just got a lot weirder. I looked at my attributes, switching between characters, exiting the character record, and trying again, and it seems that sometimes when I look, it says that my Blackwall has an armor rating of over 200, and armor rating front of 185, while another time when I look, it shows an armor rating of 161, and armor rating front of 185.

What is displayed seems to change randomly. Cass still has an armor rating of 190, and armor rating front of 183.

Edit #2: Just exited the character record, entered it again, and looked at Cassandra's stats, and now she has an armor rating of 159 and front armor rating of 183.

Now I'm confused. Is this a real bug actually affecting armor rating, or is it a bug with the attributes display? It seems to come and go, seemingly randomly.

DA:I was probably not deserving of game of the year given all the issues, but your post is definitely deserving of drama of the year if you don't mind me saying so! :P

I never really got emotionally vested in Dragon Age, but I still feel let down by Bioware. Assuming they don't actually heed your advise and throw in the towel on this thing, I'll have to mentally adjust Bioware from a "shut-up-and-take-my-money-please-developer", to a "release-now-first-fix-later-developer" similar to Paradox Interactive; a maker of potentially great games...given multiple patches over several months up to a year.

I know my resolve will be tested come ME4 as I fully expect Bioware will entice not only with worthless bonus items, but with dastardly release day DLC (hate that practice), but remembering DA:I and even more, the non-communication, will make resisting assimilation a little less futile. :)

Can i backup the game somehow, so i can install the patch 3, and go back do patch 2 if i don't like it? I know it will **** up my saves even if i can do that.

I don't want to pirate the game to get the version i want (whenever piracy gives me an advantage over owning the product, you should really look into it btw to change how things should be made) again, why not give me an offline version of the patch i want? Doesn't even need to be save compatible, because, yes, that could be pretty hard and glitchy.

They are working on the HotHot Fix that fixes the Hot Fix for the Patch 3 bugs.  Since they don't know what they broke, they aren't worried about telling you what they "fixed".  Eventually you'll hear what the Hot Fix was supposed to be....
