They are working on the HotHot Fix that fixes the Hot Fix for the Patch 3 bugs.  Since they don't know what they broke, they aren't worried about telling you what they "fixed".  Eventually you'll hear what the Hot Fix was supposed to be....

Then I'll say what the family therapist said: "I fear this might be a hopeless case."

I think it's time to call it quits...

Looks like they are not going to repeat Extended Cut. I was less furious about ME3 ending than this. (Man, there is no way ME4 will be any good. Ff you read between the lines its obvious, sharing features with Inquisition, too much emphasis on exploration for the sake of exploration - space bottles!). They completely lost sense of what made their games good in the fog of blockbustering. At least ME3 was a decent shooter with incredibly legendary emotional moments. There is one thing left to do here.

Some PC players want to slow down to the level of actual walking. Can you believe those guys? Poor developers at Bioware had to put walking in the game in the third patch because of them. Some just simply cant catch up to the speed the game rocks at, too fast, too furious for them! I am usually not up for dlc-s but this game made me want them bad, the community demands it, number one priority, i agree totally on that.

You mean the patch they released recently? Walking? Totally unnecessary but there are people who like this kind of ****, "adds to immersion" they say. First and the second one were doing just fine without that AWESOME improvement (why only PC? You think console gamers are any different?)

I agree there were many generic quests, lots of them. It's a pity they sacrificed the length of the game for that. When the game really started to get interesting it ended. I thought that Corypheus, being a dark spawn, will cause the next blight or something. Total letdown there.

With the lack of good rpgs I craved for a good game. I really liked the Mass Effect movie kind of gameplay (even though they totally lied about your choices having an impact on the world - f.e. ME3 with its colorful endings, red, blue or green and a space kid) and the last good rpg was 4 years ago, Skyrim. So DA: I did the trick, even though it was boring as hell at the beginning.

"More shards, banners, rifts, bottles and camps with those DLC-s!" and archer boys!

I laughed there for a bit but on a more serious note, I wrote I want real add-ons like Awakening for the the first game or DLCs that have real content behind them, not some shitty collectibles. This game is unfinished, you feel it when you play it, that's why I want more story DLCs, even though, like you, I'm usually not up for them.

I don't know what saddens me more; all that ranting and raving or that BW seems to forget about their customer relationship management, if there is any.

To swordfishtrombone. Was guard on? that can mess armor ratings. When I look Cassandras armor ratings using crafted greywarden shield and guard (passive)ability currently off her front armor rating is excatly armor rating + shield armor rating. So no bug here, not saying your game can't be faulty, i am not so arrogant.

So, is it safe to play now?  I stopped when the 3rd patch came out because I didn't want any issues with my save.  I took a look around for an update log but didn't see one in the files.  They seem to have changed mp levels, character appearance, party members a few sp levels, and general world enviorments?  Be really nice if it was a bit more detailed then that.  I just don't want to mess up my save, got a hundred hours in and havn't progressed main quest past the new home.

I was viewing character records in Skyhold, so I assume the guard wasn't on. (Doesn't returning to your stronghold or camp remove the guard?)

I suggest checking yourself, in Skyhold. If I have it, and the person I responded to has it, then it's likely a common thing. Still don't know whether it is just some sort of display glitch, or whether it accurately states what the game has decided the front armor rating to be.

I don't see anything fundamentally wrong with the ending to Inquisition, if you don't count the fact that it was left as a cliff hanger, clearly setting up the next game in the series. I personally don't think that's necessarily a flaw.

By comparison, ME3 had a monstrosity of poor writing, filled with plot inconsistencies, holes in logic, breaking with game precedent, and even a jump in genre of the game: one of the options given was a pure fantasy universe option, not one that fits in a scifi setting. It was so monumentally bad, that the extended cut only managed to put a layer of new paint on a sinking ship. It was so bad it was fundamentally unrecoverable, without scrapping the whole concept, and starting fresh.

Banter Bug remains unaddressed still. Regardless of what patch 3 was supposed to do, it didn't. Banter is just as non-existent as it has been for half the playerbase since release.

Not that I care but I'm curious about the walk toggle.  I play with a gamepad, and have not seen anywhere in the options a way to map this button.  Maybe its in the radial menu and i just didn't notice?  Does anybody know?  Not that I plan to use it because intend to experiment with capping my fps at 30 to see if reduces some frame drops.

Its terribly implemented.. You toggle it on/off.. So if you toggle it on, you expect to be able to hold sprint, to move faster.. Nope.. Its an on/off switch, and it feels just as clunky as the rest of the movement, jumping, combat, tactical camera, AI, etc.. The only reason for sprint was for the mount, and multiplayer.. I just dont understand how a player made a better mod, then a multi million dollar corporation... It just feels awkward.. You map it via "Key Bindings"..

I play with a gamepad, I don't find the controls to be clunky at all.  I just don't see anywhere to map it with a controller plugged in.

Because the game was designed to be played with a gamepad, try keyboard and mouse then get back to me...

to swordfishtrombone. Just checked, no, front armor rating seems to contain shield armor rating. Maybe it is some mod or some console command/Origin game properties command/shortcut command line argument etc., if you use any?  Anyway, i think it is same as allways, some have it, some don't have it. I don't have it but for your sake i hope they can patch it.

Just discovered something that might have come in patch 3 or the hotfix for patch 3, or might just be my game glitching a bit. I forwarded my PC clock to get war table missions to finish because I needed Cullen for one to progress and, he was busy for 4 hours. As soon as I did, the whole game dropped to 4FPS and would not correct until I exited and restarted. Possible glitch, possibly intentional to discourage use of the time exploit. Can anyone see if their game does it as well, or if it was just a glitch?

Don't use any mods, and haven't altered the vanilla game in any way, so it's not that. It's really strange. The front armor rating seems to either show correctly, or show lower than the base armor rating value randomly. Sometimes it shows a correct front armor rating that is higher than the base armor rating, and sometimes it displays a value that is lower.

So checking it once, and seeing the value displayed correctly doesn't mean you don't have it. You might. Keep checking every now and then. I'll keep checking, to see if there's some sort of pattern or way to reproduce the bug, but so far it seems very random.

Try changing equipment in the field vs. doing it at Skyhold. I got Cass to glitch that way. To fix it, I went back to Skyhold, removed the shield, exited, reloaded and, put the shield back, it was fine then. Perhaps it's associated with them being in your active party.

Hey guys, not sure if this was brought up already, but I just rolled a new character and the opening tutorial is borked. I got my sword and my first fight, but no fights after and no varric and solas. Anyone else get this? Not sure if it's patch related?

No.  i really don't have any interest in playing this game with KB/M.  PC's are flexible machines.  Would you play Tie Fighter without a flight stick?  I would never try to play an action based combat system with a keyboard.  Seems like a bad idea.  But still curious if the walk system was implemented with the controller scheme.  Does anybody know?

never ceases to amaze me the level and variety of problems people can have with their games. i feel sorry that they haven't had a good experience. i've been lucky, i guess. i've enjoyed the game from the start. thought it was excellent. i had banter. i did not really experience crash issues except and the very start and it was rare. i didn't like there was no walk toggle then. but there is now...so it's actually only improved in my case.

That's the thing about PC games, we can build these things anyway we want.  Which causes a huge variety of problems for some and not for others.  I too have had a glorious experience.  Could things be better hell yes.  DLC's and modders will take care of that.  I've always felt that if you become a PC gamer then you have to accept the responsibility of developing and integrating others work arounds.  Its been this way since my first Apple 2c in '86. Nothings changed other than a lot more silver platter kids.   I have a couple of other games I bought recently that I haven't even gotten around to yet, because I'm still enjoying this one.  I'm afraid that I will not get to them by the time the Witcher 3 comes out.

It wasn't, because the controller doesn't need a walk toggle. Just push the analog stick softly and you'll walk. Push it halfway through and you will jog. Push it all the way forward to run.

They can, but they didn't, KB/M controls are horrid; Modders have been told that many of the standard things you'd expect to mod will be impossible (look around these boards, Community Mangers have said several times to basically forget modding anything you typically mod, like meshes and control schemes and inventory management and pretty much anything else); The game was marketed heavily as being "by PC gamers for PC gamers" which, no matter how much lawyerspeak is layered around it, was clearly designed to pull in all those concerned by the action-shooter direction of the series that started as a beloved tactical RPG; I work for a living doing computer engineering type things, I don't do a 3 billion dollar corporation's work for them in my downtime; and despite your spin that this is how it's always been, it absolutely has not, as these things were all either addressed, not broken in the first place, or far more flexible, in games reaching back to Fallout 3 and as recently as the Skyrim they so clearly wanted to emulate.

I think that covers most of it.  I'm glad you're having a blast with your gamepad.  If they'd made it clear they recommend a gamepad, designed the menu system and UI for consoles first, and based the tech specs of the thing around consoles, to say nothing of not testing basic PC playability in order to get it out for Christmas launch, then maybe people wouldn't be so pissed off.

Again, glad you're enjoying it.  Your enjoyment doesn't negate the clear issues we suckered PC KB/M players are having, nor vice-versa.

Yes, but doing so would likely have lowered pre-orders and sales... and that would have made the only people who matter to them (the shareholders) unhappy. Very unhappy.
