Then you're restricting yourself from the pure joy of a controller. Oh it's so tantalizing... Oh those many buttons! You are possibly telling the truth. I tried KB&M, I was trying to get used to it, and I didn't want to. I couldn't believe that it'd be enjoyable. So I wait for the PC controls to be fixed. You can say whatever you want, but your voice is the minority. PC gamers don't enjoy this game as is. They'd like to.

Dubya - I came on these pages with NO ability to quote or post a pic, or a video... I don't dwell on it.
I wish that I could be like you fancy lads...what with your quotes and all.
Which is probably a good thing...

I play with a gamepad (Nostromo Razer) for FPS and WASD games like Fallout 3. Dragon Age just needed the spacebar and the mouse. It was so efficient and didn't get in the way of enjoying the game. Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights and Origins had the best control scheme for PC gamers. It was in Origins and Dragon Age 2. Nothing in the press releases or ads mentioned that the control scheme was going to WASD. It was actually the opposite. I got the impression that this was going to be even better than the control scheme for the last two games. In the end, the game is a chore to play. The mechanics and flow are horrible in my humble opinion. The game mechanics (war table times, fetch quests that are grinding to advance the plot, etc.) get in the way of Bioware's greatest asset: RPG Immersion. No modding, no dev support, no real patches and the lack of respect for a base community that built the company's reputation is just... HORRIBLE. Where is the PR? Where are the moderators? Sorry for the rant.
I also have an XBOX controller. It's currently disabled in device manager so I can use the Nostromo Pad.

Cyan - A gamepad is not an option for me. Also Dubya69 can play with a sheep. I wouldn't care. He'd play the game the same way.
I get that and that's what's even more aggravating. The control scheme worked and is easily adaptable for a person with one hand. Now with both hands, it's still a chore. The game lacks auto-freaking-anything. It's not worth playing through a second time for me. I tried playing as a warrior and it's too much of boring grind for me to do it again. Ram hunting... hahaha. Oh my.

Dude, before Inquisition, I would replay every game several times, now... it's like doing a book report. You just have to do it to satisfy the curiousity. Once was enough and unless the controls are back to using a mouse with more than two buttons, then you can bet my wallet is staying closed to Bioware and all that DLC they're counting on to sell. It's so shortsighted, but hey... EA is your master, you obey.

I hear ya. I enjoyed the games and they did have replayability, until DA2 and this crap in a box. What's sad is that they're NOT trying to fix it for PC gamers. They don't get what ultimate side their bread is buttered upon. They will feel a whirlwind of consumer wrath.

For a game like this to be WASD, where is block? Is there a block option? I didn't bother to look. With that being said, the controls per Bioware are working as intended. PC users were misled. Overall, the control schemes are just one major issue that PC users are struggling with. GOTY. OH MAKER! You truly have turned your gaze away from us.

I will say this once, so pay attention, FOE...
I have NEVER made any comments in favour of using a controller over KB&M. I don't know where you get this from.
I am one of the biggest advocates in favour of KB&M on these forums because that is how I play my games.
I mentioned that I gave controller a try, but it felt wrong and limited to me.
I've been complaining about the rubbish KB&M control scheme since day 1.
So, I would really appreciate it if you would stop misquoting me on this issue.

It's only "pure joy" if you have a positive subjective experience. If you don't like it, you're missing out on nothing.
I could tell you you're missing out on the awesomeness of my gaming mouse with its much more natural feel to all the extra buttons, but I would be mistakenly assuming my subjective experience with it translate into your subjective experience.

They have plenty of butter. Beyond that, though, I think they are working on something, and that it will contain at least some of what should've been in from the start. The real problem is the lack of communication, and that staff is engaging with the MP crowd instead of us.
The latter is more worrying. MP is an open-ended monetization of the game, and is getting communication. As for us, they have our money, and we have no communication. Not a good sign.

That's fine, you may not like the reference to CD Projekt RED and you may not like their games. I honestly don't care and that was not the point. But if you are arguing their excellence in what they do and the unmatched quality of their product as well as fan support, then I suggest you are simply uninformed.
It is not fanboying. It is simply giving credit where credit is due. And since The Witcher and Dragon Age are in the same genre, we will make comparisons. It is healthy for the game industry to have competition and to point out what is being done well and what is not.
So dry your tears and stop taking it so personally.
*Sigh*
Bolding mine.
I do like their games. (All two of them, I liked TW1 before it was "cool" to do so actually) I simply fail to see them as the RPG messiah many of their fans make them out to be. Their games are incredibly flawed, but also incredibly well done. (Yes, that's possible)
Having experienced both for several years, no, no I am not. Their "excellence" and "unmatched quality of their product" (There's the hyperbole that'll make me roll my eyes. That IS fanboying in its purest form. *Headdesks*) in what they do is neither a fact nor a dogma. There is MUCH to criticize about their games, their marketing and their storytelling. (NVM that book purists, esp. from Poland where I know a few of them, seem to be....very divided on the quality of the series. I have seen them tearing the games to shreds for inaccuracy, dumbing down the source material and destroying established characters) And what's in the () is just an example, there's also blatant sexism, racism etc. etc.
As for their CS, it's hit or miss, like with any gaming company. Is their PR talk well handled? Mostly, when they're not acting like Peter Molyneux on caffeine. Is their Community Team competent? Sure, but how is that going to make me like their games better? It might make me like THEM better though.
Yes, yes it is. At least call it what it is. There's nothing wrong with it.
Credit you feel they deserve. Good for you, give it to them. Where they can see it.
They're as much in the same genre as The Witcher, Might & Magic VI-VIII, Dragon Age And Skyrim are in the same genre (Just because both are made of cotton doesn't make a blouse the same as a jacket). Technically speaking, The Witcher doesn't even earn the R in RPG because of its set protagonist whose personality is set in stone (What little we could RP in TW1 was thrown out in TW2 in their failure of an "Import" system), which technically makes it an adventure with combat and choices. *Le Gasp* If you want to talk genres, that is.
And both series do things incredibly well & fail at others. It's how things will always be. This isn't about healthy competition (Your behavior), this is you elevating CDPR on their "rival's" forums. Not to "improve" the quality of BioWare's future games (Which you're saying you won't buy) but to.....cause a stir? Spread negativity? What you are doing isn't constructive criticism. It's baiting and completely lacking in merit. Were I CDPR, I'd not welcome such...praise. But maybe they do, I don't care.
Let's not be melodramatic, you were upset for being told that what you do strikes someone as fanboying that they're sick of it. But they're the ones who need to "dry their tears"? Okkkkkkkkay. I'm not the one constantly ranting on a company's forum whose games' aren't to my liking. That's.....a waste of time.
Anyway, back to DAI.

So back on effing topic since 234 pages of mostly arguing and complaining(I'm guilty of making a few posts myself but constructively I hope except where I bashed EA to bits) is getting boring, Is it just a small minority of us people who've been experiencing massive memory leaks since the mystery patch or whatever the hell it was of last Tuesday? At the moment the game remains unplayable for me as after not even 5 minutes, my HD starts grinding and my game starts lagging to the point where I move 1 foot every 5 minutes and my system manager tells me my entire memory(HD and Ram) is being flooded which is BAD for a computer. Something was introduced in that mystery patch that affects, seemingly a small amount of us and I'm trying to pinpoint why. I'm too busy these days to go through the whole process of uninstalling DA:I and/or origin again and again. Shame really, up until Tuesday, the game was running fine after my upgrades and week and a 1/2 of reinstalling over 40 games...but that's a story for another time and place.

On what platform? I am on PC and at the moment there are no updates for Inquisition through Origin. If its on a console, its possible you guys are getting Patch 3 or something.

I'd except Bioware to release patch notes first or at same time. It don't seem like there has been patch 3 yet for consoles. I really wonder when it's coming.

Like for the patch from earlier this week? I still haven't been able to find anything remotely official about that. Plus if it was on consoles, patch notes for 3 have been released already, i doubt they'd be different from the PC ones, aside from maybe the patch actually working...
