Aren't they suppose to test this before releasing? How does this happen.

I'm very upset right now. :(

You broke my game !! Everything was fine, game was gorgeous, was running ok, am going to switch to a 1440p screen in a couple of days to enjoy it even more and now it looks like crap. The downgrade was noticeable as soon as I loaded my save : shiny hair, lower res textures, heavy aliasing. Can't even play anymore.

I do not, and wouldn't have the knowledge or expertise to comment on that.

However, for everyone in general, if you are experiencing issues, please report them to @dragonage or on AnswersHQ

To help us troubleshoot issues, details of what you are experiencing, as well as things like screenshots and DXdaigs are helpful.

This sort of information can be passed on to our dev team and used to troubleshoot what might be going on. It also enables other users here and on AHQ to help you or potentially identify workarounds.

I can do stuff with that information, but not much I can do with "fuuuuuuuuuuck youuuuuuuu" ;)

Posting DXDIAGs is nice and all, but when you have a ton of players having the same issues (hair bug, crappy post-FX, etc) brought on by the patch, this is something that was done by the patch.

Let me venture a guess as to how the hair bug got worse though. In an effort to fix it, you changed the shader on it. Instead of fixing it, the shader effect was applied to every NPC's heads and other facial hair, along with a new (worse) shader effect for the ground.

I'm just curious about that.

I can confirm that theirs no shiny hair on PS4. So I assume it's a PC only thing.

Yeah. To me, it seems like they accidentally locked the settings to a lower present and forgot to remove that lock when they pushed it out, as other user said.

Does there seem to be anything weird in the PS4 version? I'm loading it up right now, but I'm nervous.

Framerate is higher because the game is no longer pushing the same amount of effects as before, not because they 'fixed' it.

Porting from consoles to PC went wrong.

Again.

this sounds pretty bad...

Since I haven't patched my game (running on ulta settings) yet, I wonder if it'll be a better move not to patch it until all these issues are fixed. Or is it possible to uninstall /rollback the patch at all?

As there's no way to change the settings on the PS4 version, I can't imagine there are graphical issues of this nature. It seems like a PC specific issue due to the way that version works.

I have a GTX 980Ti and my computer overall could run a small country in Africa and I can confirm the shiny hair bug after the patch was installed.  I don't know about anything else because I Don't have the eye for that level of detail but the hair definitely looks like ass.

Yep I figured that immediately upon seeing the effects firsthand XD

The shiny hair is present on the 360 version. The shiny hair was fixed to be less pronounced on that console. In fact, the PC version looks like the 360 version. Even the PS4 version looks better than the PC version now.

Set Origin to Offline mode and play. You won't be able to do multiplayer or use the DA Keep, but at least you'll play the game pre-patch.

Better to talk directly to people that the moderator give the link.

Just saying don't use the modo has meat shield ^^;;;;

You can still rant but not directly on him.

Everything appears to be locked to a lower setting. It's easily visible in a screenshot someone posted earlier. Post Processing has taken a nose dive, and looks like it's running on low. I imagine it's the same for other settings such as mesh quality (hence the shiny shiny).

To the entire BioWare Team.  Thanks for an amazing game and now for the patch and all of your hard work.  Can't wait to get home and try this out now.  Time for a new character!  I know the game may not be perfect and that there is more work for you guys.  Just wish you all received more respect and recognition for everything you do.  Seams like many want to point out every negative thing they can and forget to thank you for all the great things you have done.  Please know there are many out there that really do appreciate you guys.  Probably just made myself very unpopular with many of them but so be it....have much more important things to worry about in life.  Thanks again and wish you all the best.

Oh and btw I got shiny hair too. Looks awful - especially on blond hair. -_-
