Ok even if we buy the nvida/amd excuse, what about Hardings freckles being gone? How about scars not working in the CC?
This is a Bioware issue and the fact that they are already tryign to make excuses is frankly disgusting. You guys messed up the game, fix it or reroll.
So, if I read this tread right, I have to suffer worse graphics then before, or not play the game?
I can't start the game without downloading a 30 GB patchfile first, and from what I'm reading here, the game looks worse then before the patch?
Did play the game perfectly fine, just got 1 crash because of Alt-Tabbing, the rest of the time I played it, it was smooth and fine in all aspects of it (except the tac. cam, 8 slot hotbar, and lack of tactical options) and even that was on the way to be forgotten/ much less anoying. Because the rest of the game is (was?) perfectly fine for me.
I think I wait for a bit to see how the BioWare team respond to this.
Does there seem to be anything weird in the PS4 version? I'm loading it up right now, but I'm nervous.
I've only looked at the CC screen. But it looks ok to me.
To the entire BioWare Team. Thanks for an amazing game and now for the patch and all of your hard work. Can't wait to get home and try this out now. Time for a new character! I know the game may not be perfect and that there is more work for you guys. Just wish you all received more respect and recognition for everything you do. Seams like many want to point out every negative thing they can and forget to thank you for all the great things you have done. Please know there are many out there that really do appreciate you guys. Probably just made myself very unpopular with many of them but so be it....have much more important things to worry about in life. Thanks again and wish you all the best.

OK, done some digging now.
It seems all updates are placed in a "patch"-folder under "Dragon Age Inquisition" - "Updates" - "Patch". I suspect the game is told to use the files in this folder over the files in the base structure of the folders. In the folder (deep breath) "Update" - "Patch" - "Data" - "Win32" - "da3" - "configurations" - "gameconfigurations" (phew) there are two updated files, which I guess the game is now using.
Over to the speculation now. I'm guessing these game configuration files are set to Low or Medium (as per normal in a patch), and I suspect that fiddling about with the in-game configuration options still only change the files in the base structure of the folders, and not the files in the "Update" - "Patch" structure. If so, deleting the "gameconfigurations"-folder, in the "patch"-tree might fix this. Or break the game entirely - I'm not an engineer. Try it at your own risk.

For the love of God, do NOT patch.this sounds pretty bad...
Since I haven't patched my game (running on ulta settings) yet, I wonder if it'll be a better move not to patch it until all these issues are fixed. Or is it possible to uninstall /rollback the patch at all?

Wait....780Ti. My bad. Keep getting the 9 and 7 mixed up.
Wow, in character creation, the patch made the complexion wrinkles into super wrinkles. 
Its not really a bug, but it still surprised me. 
It seems it's not just the hair. No matter on which settings the game is set ultra/high/medium or low, the game looks like it's on low settings. It's as if it is not recognising the settings at all.
Same here. Tried all the settings, nothing changes. It always looks the same now which is not very good

Excuse me, how can you defend a total graphic downgrade that locks all of us to low graphics, along with breaking scars in the CC and removing Hardings freckles?

The game is pushing settings that appear to be equivalent to that of the Xbox 360. It's not a GPU vendor issue, and I don't believe anyone at BioWare has stated such.
As there's no way to change the settings on the PS4 version, I can't imagine there are graphical issues of this nature. It seems like a PC specific issue due to the way that version works.
That's what I thought, but I'm no expert on the actual mechanics of these things. So thanks! Now I'm not as worried!
Another PC player with the shiny issue here - I'm going to try your idea Solo and hope it doesn't break things

I personally think it's because of a specific shader being applied to everything. The "low quality" shader.
Anybody know how to downgrade the game ?
So auto centering in tactical camera still not fixed it looks like...
Is anyone getting constant pauses in combat (action mode)? Or is it just me?

Well done Bioware....by fixing shiny hair on low settings my character on high settings now looks like his hair was taken straight from a Ken doll....
