Hey guys, just had a chance to test the new patch and apart for the graphics being poorer there's even more stuttering than before. Definitely something went amiss!  :(

However, I wouldn't despair about the Mesh Quality. The patch probably broke the in-game setting, but we are PC gamers, so just do the following:

1) Navigate to your "%USERPROFILE%\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age Inquisition\Save" folder

2) Open the "ProfileOptions_profile" file with Notepad

3) Increase the "GstRender.MeshQuality" parameter by a factor of 1.

4) Save the file, open the game and check the quality of the graphics.

5) If the meshes are not of appropriate quality again, just repeat step 3 ("4" is probably the maximum value for this setting).

I haven't tried this for myself, but given that I have Mesh Quality on "Medium" in-game and the "ProfileOptions_profile" setting was "1", I assume that we can increase it manually from there! Please check if this fixes your meshes and report back.  ;)

Testing. Will report back.

People, if you haven't patched already do not, repeat DO NOT PATCH. It's not just the shiny hair, graphic details overall have been affected (including vegetation, shadows and whatnot), it's like the game has "forced" a medium to low setting.

I will not patch, I will not patch, I will not patch! Must recite this over and over until I get home. Sorry to see all the problems others have encountered from patching.

I wanted to see what the patch fixed before I downloaded it and I find it broke more than it fixed. Lovely.

Can anyone confirm whether the voice switch bug was fixed at least?

Patch didn't fix he areas lag issue.

I will upload a video and some pics about this problem.

I understand, you want me to close everything, mozilla/firefox, steam, evey single program, to run Inquisition, but i still encounter lag issues in some areas, like the game demands 4GB ram from the Video Card

I have a Nvidia 660ti OC 2GB ram, it can run Battlefield 3 and 4, The Crew, Sleeping Dogs (all maxed), Hitman Absolution, Tomb Raider (remake).

But i keep struggling in some areas.

No Patch: 19 fps

Patch: 24 Fps (with drops)

This needs to be fix, please.

Use lower Video cards and check it.

I'm 100% this doenst happend in 4GB video cards 970 Nvidia.

This is what happens when your entitled whining makes EA/BioWare nervous: They're rushing patches.

Yes, blame gamers for Biowares mistakes. Seems legit.

Just booted up the game for the first time after the patch and i DON'T have the shiny hair bug when mesh quality is high or ultra. On low/medium the bug is still present.

Graphics wise it looks the same to me. Though i am tired from work so maybe i am just to blind too notice any diffrence :D.

Done my good deed of the day and managed to warn at least one of my friends about this patch.

He was grateful.

Warn your friends! Protect your loved ones! Until this evil patch has been lifted from us!

With a rebel yell! "hotfixkthx!"

I see... Well, I can only say BioWare disappointed its PC fans once again. I knew why I had my reservations towards the patches, sigh...

well ... this should be a lesson - always disable auto updates for everything. i don't care if it's steam, origin or your operating system.

NEVER, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE - allow a piece of software to update itself before you're read the update notes and, preferably, also some comments.

This is not a fix. It changed what the menu option had listed, but there appears to be a deeper issue forcing the low quality on us.

Was worth a shot lol.

As I said before, I personally think it's a shader problem.

Yeah no, i'm not gonna start messing with ini files to get this working, this shouldn't even have happened, i feel like bioware is trolling us.

This is almost funny.

I appreciate that they likely worked hard on this, I really do.

It doesn't lessen the fact that they made a complete mess of it, sadly.

They made it worse.. My brain cannot understand how this got past QA..

OK, that explains where the configuration file is. This is probably the file the game can no longer find.

'all your save are belong to us'?

And here I thought I will remain alone, without a fix for broken-glued male elves, but it looks like you guys won't be able to enjoy your playthroughs too.

This patch is a massive failure. Now not only my elves have broken and glued arms but also they have started to look ridiculously bad in general.

The best part about it? BioWare apologists with their wisdom and vast stoicism. I'm almost drowning in the honey straight out of tranquility's beehive.

Is it a good moment to don a peasant's shirt and bow down before the BW masters. I've only paid them money, what can I expect to get? Shouldn't I sponsor their cars, houses and gold crowns?

This is what happens when your entitled whining makes EA/BioWare nervous: They're rushing patches.

Oh Prophet! My Prophet! Praised by thy insight, for you walk the walk.
