Patch improved performance (I had weird slowdowns at times, now they are only in crowded areas), but at the cost of the graphics downgrade. Me don't like shiney haaairrr! And give me my scar back! And the freckles!

Seriously, it fixed a few things, bugged others. It's software, that happens. I just hope they can implemt a hotfix for the graphics downgrade, cause that's weird it happened.

Now please work on the crashes and the banter and I'm happy. Thanks for the hard work!

This is part frustrating, part hilarious

Anyways, thanks for the updates Conal.  While the shininess is a bit what what, I'm more concerned about the stuttering.

For PC version.

I know there's been a lot of issues with this Patch but I can't even download it. It gets to the part where it tells me it's finalizing the update and then says download failed.

Anyone else had this? The only things I have tried without reinstalling are removing any other internet browsers in the background and removing the Unofficial 60 FPS cutscene fix to avoid any conflict.

If I wanted to play an ugly game, I'd have a console.

Heyoooo.

Use a controller and you can walk. He's right.

Which part you didn't get after hundreds of posts complaining about this issue? Why PC gamers need to buy a controller to play a PC game? It doesn't make any sense and if that's the way the devs created the game, why it wasn't specified on the requirement for the PC version before letting people pre-order the game? This game was advertized as PC game, created by PC gamers for PC gamers. No one said a word about having to play with a controller to be able to enjoy a basic expected feature as being able to walk/run toggle function. The first time I heard of it was when Mr. Schumacher revealed on one of this threads that he mostly played DAI with a controller during the development process of the game and he humbly accepted that they should have paid more attention at the performance of said game using only M/K.

Would I like to see it hot fixed within the next 24 hours? Sure.

I'm an optiomistic person, but not THAT optimistic.

The graphics are a minor inconvenience. I started a new game and didn't even notice until it was brought up and I compared screenshots.

Would I like to see it hot fixed within the next 24 hours? Sure. Absolutely. I would love it if by the time I got home from dinner and watching Guardians of the Galaxy on blu-ray, it was already done.

However. It is a minor inconvenience. So my graphics aren't AMAZING right now. I'll live. It's not impeding my life. It's not even impeding my gameplay experience short of "oh, slightly lower quality textures/meshes/whatever."

I said this before when people decided it was okay to send death threats to Bioware and boycott them over five minutes. I'll say it again.

First. World. Problems.

People have bee sending Bioware death threats? That...goes beyond the pale.

This, the stuttering is the real issue. I can live with the shiny hair, but the stuttering directly affects gameplay.

So.. Er. I finally bought this game.

I guess I should wait a couple of weeks with starting until I know what my character actually will end up looking like?

I can unfortunatly confirm my game has also been impacted by massive reduction in quality(shinny hair, armors looking a lot less detailed, grass and plants also messed up), basicly my game on highest seetings in everything except AA now looks like few years old game at best. Also worth mentioning it mnged to crash twice before i even managed to get into the actual start screen(something that has never happened before in 100+ hours of gameplay)

Hopefully there will be a hotfix to adress this issiues fast.

Ah, the classic "We fixed performance and stability by forcibly downgrading everyone's graphical fidelity" patch. Clever girl, BioWare.

Scars are gone, complexions are mssed up, Harding is missing her freckles. This is not just a minor thing, this breaks immersion and creating characters. my Qunari lost all her scars, how the hell is that a "inconvenience"?

I am 100% certain that this was not intentional.

Not to mention the actual gameplay problems that are happening to a lot of people such as stuttering, which directly affect not only immersion but actually gameplay.

I do appreciate that Bioware is looking into it, hopefully a fix or a rollback will come soon.

Loaded an autosave on my game. I CAN CONFIRM : This patch DOES fix the voice change bug when you encounter Hawke.

But AT WHAT COST BIOWARE!?! AT WHAT COST!?! Is it just me or are the complexion sliders broken also! What happened to my Hawke! She looks like a box of dry raisinets!!!

Spoiler

Luckily I knew of the voice change bug prior to this, so I have a save before meeting her. I can easily change her complexion if need be, I was just so shocked by this I had to make it of note. In hindsight I think this is kinda hilarious. Did anyone else see changes to their Hawke's complexion or any other characters. Aside from this I noticed Harding didn't have freckles, and her chin scar was gone but as far as NPC's being afflicted with OCFS (Old Crusty Face Syndrome) Hawke was the only one I saw :/

1. All that time spent on the run has taken its toll.

2. It is arguable that the moisture in the skin has only moved to the hair.

3. Hawke drank from the wrong grail.

4. The wind around Skyhold really dries you out.

5. Hawke without makeup.

It's occasionally very difficult to identify sarcasm on the BSN.
