I see quite a few people asking if they can uninstall the patch, revert back, not install it, reinstall the game to avoid this etc, so here's a quick rundown on your options:
If you have not patched yet:
- Before starting Origin, turn off your Internet access. Either disable your wifi adapter, pull your network cable out of your PC, turn off your router, etc.
- When origin starts, it will detect no internet access, and offer the option to go offline. Do so. You can now play DA:I without the horrible patch.
- Alternatively, in the settings menu in Origin (don't have them in front of me since I'm still at work), there is an option that says "Disable automatic updates." Make sure that option is set so games do NOT automatically update. Now you can play DA:I without the horrible patch, and should be able to turn your internet back on.
If you have already patched:
- There is no way to roll back the patch.
- There is no way to uninstall it.
- I see some people uninstalling and redownloading, and I do not recommend doing this, because all you're doing is redownloading for nothing. The patch will automatically get downloaded and applied as a part of the original install. So you're just wasting time.
- IF you have the game on DVD, or have a copy of the game folder made from before the patch was applied, or you have an image / backup of the hard disk the game is on, you can restore the game from DVD/backup/your copy whatever, and follow the options outlined above to make origin NOT patch your game, and you should be able to continue playing without issues.
If you do not have a backup of the files from before the patch, in essence you are S.O.L. You're gonna have to wait until Bioware either rolls back the patch or issues a hotfix.
Hope this is of help . (even though it'll scroll off in 20 seconds.
