Hope they fixed the bug where certain abilities don't work like Stormbringer.

There's really no indication from the patch notes that any of the broken abilities are patched. I asked for a "known issues" list an hour or so ago. Hopefully Colan will pull one together so at least we know they know stuff is broken (regardless of if/when it'll be fixed).

The only thing that caught my eye on abilities is the Spirit Blade "nerf". It would be nice if instead of just saying "Spirit Blade no longer triggers combos" we got some context for the change... but that's probably pretty low priority given the issues with the patch and the need for an asap hotfix. :(

After installing the patch every character has shiny hair except my quizzie, whose scars are now missing. Very odd. And yeah, the graphics have generally taken a turn for the worse. Hopefully Bioware will be able to patch... the patch... soon.

PC games are often played by PC gamers using controllers on their PC.

Which means jack nothing until PCs start coming with Xbox 360 controllers and until the majority of games are designed around using them it will continue to mean nothing. If the Batman Arkham series and shadow of Mordor can control excellently with a mouse and keyboard then an RPG like Dragon age that isn't half as intensive as either of those games should work flawlessly as well particularly when bioware has managed to make extremely massive keyboard friendly games in the past like oh I don't know previous Dragon age games in the entire mass effect series.

That is the most frustrating thing about the whole issue with the keyboard and mouse in Dragon age Inquisition is that it is not as if bioware is a fledgling company that has never made a PC game before they have consistently made very good PC ports but somehow this one managed to fall flat on its face by not implementing PC friendly features that have been available on previous bioware games.

Bioware would do good to ignore this thread now. The amount of useful feedback approaches zero here.

But at any rate, can anyone tell me the state of Battlefield 4 right now? It is the only other Frostbite 3 game that is out, right? I heard that the game was drowning in bugs in the beginning, now I dunno (Just thinking is it the engine that is bad, or Bioware programming team).

Hey guys, after the patch my game simply crashes without any error message right after the loading screen fades out after loading a save.

Anyone encounter the same problem?

That is apparently BioWare's "fix" for all the other problems.

If you can't play ... they're not a problem!

Wait a minute. I just got a look at my drives and...either I deleted a huge chunk of date from my SSD or 4gigs appeared out of thin air. I'm pretty sure there was less space left before the patch. Anyone can take a look and make sure the patch didn't actually delete the higher textures?

Tac cam still jumps to party members when selecting them (at least add a toggle to disable it).

Agreed - Mike Laidlaw even admitted several weeks ago (November 18th) that this was a bug and said it would be fixed in the next patch - i.e. this one.

"Tactical view force-centering when switching party members is a bug and will be addressed in the next patch. Continuing to monitor feedback."

So BioWare, was 3 weeks not enough time to include a relatively simple, yet incredibly important bug-fix like this?

Ok, how about this? I am pleased that BioWare took the time and effort to release a patch to try to address some problems. I am less than pleased that whatever issues they addressed in their patch also made my game something that was not entirely stable and crashed regularly to something that looked like I never updated my graphics card specifically for this game and crashes right on cue every time I enter a cut scene making it pretty much unplayable.

I am now in the lengthy process of uninstalling and reinstalling my game as soon as I complete the 5 hour download, and I am hoping I will be able to convince Origin to let me play it in its previous, unpatched state where I could at least count on advancing through a few cut scenes before I crashed. If not, then today's patch has successfully rendered my significant monetary investment into this game a huge waste.

Is that a pre-patch profile pic? It looks exactly the same as in the screenshot.. unless you were playing on lower settings to begin with.

Nope profile pic was on high with meshes on Ultra

People complain that the patch is taking too long to come out. Then when it does come out, they complain that it didn't get enough QA and some new things are broken.

This forum really is an utter cesspool. I don't blame devs at all for avoiding this place like the plague. If it were up to me, I'd burn it to the ground.

Excuse me? Were not allowed to be outraged when BioWare fucks up the game by downgrading everyones graphics settings to Low and introducing bugs of MASSIVE epic fail scale?

Crawl back to your fanboy hole please. Not everyone has money to throw around at games, I want my moneys worth and this is not it. They should rollback globally ASAP.

Are you effing serious???

Yeah, thanks for the patch, Bioware! Now I have to re-install my game and NOT install the patch, because it is BROKEN! Good job!

Wait if I reinstall I can avoid this patch?

Cause I will do that.

@fingerboxes, since for some reason my "quote" button isn't working.  I've got decades of muscle memory for k/m control.  At 58 and a bit, my reflexes are NOT what they used to be and being forced to use a controller (I've got a 360 one around here somewhere, I did TRY) is a deal breaker in whether or not I'm going to buy a game.   I also have some issues that make using a controller for any length of time pretty painful.  If it comes down to it in the future, I guess I'll just be playing the older games that didn't try and shoehorn PC players in with the consoles.

Anyone know how something like this happens?  Like seriously, the wrong version of the patch got uploaded to origin, or something went wrong when the final version was compressed?  Surely they had to have actually tested the patch before uploading it right?

I'm exactly the same as Zylenn, never used a controller on PC.

And how can not having a very specific input method be considered silly? Especially if it comes to personal opinion. It's not like a monitor/TV, it's not something you NEED to play games.

You're right, saying it's silly might be overstating, I just think you might be missing out on a lot of games that plays a lot better on a controller. I just think it's an excellent tool for many games.

And this is why I make backups for the whole game. I had zero issues with graphics before but this patch makes it to crash in every few minutes for me, not to mention the textures and meshes. Well, I didn't expect this kind of patch to drop but what a relief to be able to revert back... Madness would be close if I had the digital version and no way to revert. For the sake of the Bioware I hope they just take the patch out of Origin.

Definitely some weirdness going on.  The blondest hair is super shiny and has illumination or something on it.   Underside shadows are overly dark at the roots which looks very strange considering the "Tussauds" effect that my Inquisitor has going on now.  LOL

Also, graphics are taking a very strange amount of time to load.

Note: the resolution of the before and afters are different.  Top before row is my usual 1920x1080, second "after" row is actually increased to double that.  (which by the way, prepatch was BEAUTIFUL effects during battles @ over 3000x2xxx + res (can't recall exactly offhand).  Downsampled just for some scenery shots...highly worth it despite the battlelag...not so much today with my quizzies Tussauds-make-under.  lol   I don't know, I would never expect the after row to be at the higher graphics settings...

Did they console the pc patch?

Wow, can I just say that that is probably the most gorgeous female inquisitor I've seen yet. :applause:

Woah that's... shocking. I should count myself fortunate that I didn't have this happen to my Feminq.

I play this with controller.

You mean DA:I? I'm playing it with kb+m and have no problems with it. Feels like Guild Wars 2 without the automatic standard-attack and an ugly as **** UI to me.

Thanks for the patch.. sadly still no fix to get Dorians Last Resort of Good Men quest to trigger though from Mother Giselle. :(  Looks like I will be restarting my playthrough after over a hundred hours.
