A patch is supposed to fix things, not make them worse.
Who thought it was a good idea to put this patch out? Surely nobody tested it, because this is awful.

Holy butt cockles, I had to sign in just to reply to this. First off they did do testing on the patch it would not have been released otherwise. I for one have no issues, no graphics degredation no crashes. If it works on their pc and works on mine the problem is usually the customers pc. It can be any number of things. When a new patch comes out for any game you always make sure you have the latest graphics driver and sound drivers. Aside from that make sure you have the latest .net installed with patches, this is important because the code in the game is done with libraries from .net and others. A company cannot account for everyones pc and the drivers and other software they have that may conflict with the game. Thats on you to keep your pc straight.
Yeah, you are either lying, playing on low, or the lucky exception. The overwhelming majority all has the same problems. All my drivers, win updates & .NET framework libraries are up to date, windows also cleaned & checked for malware automatically every week (wrote a script for it). Needless to say this isn't caused by my config but because of a faulty patch on their end.
This patch ended the graphical quality of the game. Even in low quality there are constant falls fps and textures are very bad...One month to do this?
I love this patch, if you have a problem with optimisation, force the quality and effects to low modSeriously, texture is poor, and grass is horrible. Please, fix quickly![]()
I can't play !!!I have a PC, not a console, and i was able to play with ULTRA quality. Plz let me play like before
Yeah, it's horrible. Looks like the patch locked graphics settings on low/medium.

Please do not assume all people complaining are donuts playing with outdated PCs. We have the latest drivers, we have the latest .net. We had zero issues on Ultra settings prior to the patch. All the DAI forums, here, reddit, are exploding with people complaining about the exact same issues. Good for you if you don't. Could've saved yourself a registration, but hey, welcome to the BSN.

EA literally lowered the quality of the game in multiple areas. Secretly at that. There are no lines covering this in patch notes yet is was intended (not a bug). Textures were replaced (just look at your armor you can notice on some of the higher visual quality armor that now looks like crap and the grass as well), and the lighting effects quality was lowered globally. I assume they did this because people complain their game was crashing so they lowered the strain on the CPU/GPU to potentially help avoid crashing. I think it was a horrible mistake the gear i crafted using limited use masterwork materials and high tier materials while at the same time choosing to lack in stats for a more appealing look in choice of material now looks like crap and I wasted all those resources, but on top of that there are obvious bugs also incorporated in this patch and by the look of it that's why people are posting here.
I have had issues since Launch with DAI and I was really hoping the Patch would alleviate my issues. But wow did Bioware go backwards on this one! All I have to say is...
HOLY ANDRASTES TITSICLES!
@fingerboxes. Ah, I see. Takes me awhile sometimes. I've got no issues with someone using a controller with their PC. Matter of fact I've lured more than a few people who play Skyrim on their consoles over to the PC with the modding community banana and the ability to use their controller.
To those who are planning on uninstalling to do a fresh reinstall, my advice would be to just wait; remember that there was a 'day one' patch that was released along the game on launch date. What this patch 'fixed' or 'broke' is anyone's guess. Personally, I don't care to find out that way.
Just bring the hotfix in the next couple days, BileWare
My graphics drivers are up to date (as of this morning actually) along with everything else. Played this game on Ultra settings without a stutter, never had any CTDs or anything of that sort...the only problems I have encountered is an occasional audio hiccup (during dialogue) and very much disliked the camera controls. Didn't even have a party banter issue (party talks quite a bit actually) like some have reported. Now post patch the game looks awful...
Was the voice fix not retroactive? I logged in after getting the patch, and my originally deep-voiced Warrior still sounds like the default voice.
wow, glad I'm still in offline mode on origin and haven't had the patch install automatically
I feel for those having issues. I've only had very minor ones (on PC using KB+M btw)

There is no reason to think that this was intended. A more plausible explaination is confirmation bias during QA, where tests were performed which would expect a positive result (Running on a potato-machine to test the upgraded hair mesh for 'Low'), but not a test where a negative result is expected (Running on a non-potato-machine to test the prior 'High' & 'Ultra' meshes).
Well I got patch 2 but I wasn't ever all that annoyingly buggy in the first place, though two of the bugs that irritated me are still present. The one where my characters don't appear in their place at Skyhold is the worst. Though not sure if it's my graphic settings or not. My card is not as good GTX520, so it could be that. The less shiny hair is much better. And clicking on the text when speaking to someone. On the latter I still have to go into the circle and right/left click until the text will highlight. The crashes were few and far in between and usually only occur after several hours of playing, random at that.
If you have freezing issues at "Click to Continue" screen and afterwards, and if you have AMD Graphic Card,
do below:
Download "Catalyst Software Suite Omega" from AMD's official web site (for windows 7 64bit)
http://support.amd.c...=Windows 7 - 64
thats fixed my horrible problem and literally I can FINALLY play DAI without freezing, I hope this works for you too.
By the way: when you launch the AMD exe you downloaded: select everything except "AMD Gaming APP"
dunno whats that so I didnt downloaded.
You dont have to restart your PC unless setup asks you
NOTE: Dont forget go offline on origin before launch the game
hmm not sure will that for me

Does someone who didn't update the game on pc can PM me? (someone who bought the digital version would be nice).
I have a favor to ask.
I assume they did this because people complain their game was crashing so they lowered the strain on the CPU/GPU to potentially help avoid crashing.
You assume wrong. This is a bug, probably caused by bad pathing in either the .exe or a configuration file.
There's no reason Bioware would keep the high/ultra textures on your hard drive if they were never meant to be used, and there's no way they would have forced all settings to low for the entire spectrum without informing the community in advance.
Seriously, some times I wonder if you literally think Bioware is the spawn of Satan.

And my logical conclusion would be that you will not be installing this day one patch along with your reinstall.
Wasn't this patch supposed to also fix the party banter and dialogue freeze-ups? On my PS4, it doesn't seem to have addressed either. My party still rarely banters, and I had to press the "skip" button during a dialogue with Cassandra back in Haven because it just hung up on my character with no dialogue options for me to pick from.

I'm surprised you can even run the game.
In any case, since I assume you play on lowest settings, you should count yourself lucky you weren't subjected to the graphical fiasco that the patch gave us.
And my logical conclusion would be that you will not be installing this day one patch along with your reinstall.
You'd be wrong. Fresh install off Origin gives you Game + Patch 1 + Patch 2 in one download, no way to revert.
Don't do this. All you're doing is redownloading 30 GB for nothing. The patch gets applied during the download/install process, there is no way to stop that from happening. Origin always puts you on the latest version automatically.
if you bought the physical version and uncheck keep my game up to date in Origin THEN install from the DVD's it might not update.
And of course MP also have shiny hairs and of course lost connection is not fixed. Horible.

Overwhelming majority of whom? People who complain? Well, obviously the overwhelming majority of them have problems, that's why they complain.
