Really? Which forum was that?!
Thankfully, not here but I guess it's only because they're a lot of complainers here compared on the other forums I was, imo.

For all those who found their game broken, like myself, I devised a way to roll back to a pre-patch state.
It worked for me, and I hope I can help someone.
First of all, if you installed the patch, do not make any new savefiles and do not overwrite old ones. You will not be able to load them once your game is back to its pre-patch state.
- In your Programs folder, open the Origin folder and find the Dragon Age Inquisition folder.
IMPORTANT: back up your Dragon Age Inquisition folder in case anything goes awry.
- Right-click the folder and choose the Properties tab. Click “Previous versions”.
- You will now see several dated previous versions of the folder. Choose one from BEFORE you installed the patch. Select it and choose “Restore”. This will take quite long - 30+ minutes or even more if your computer is slow. Be patient and wait for the process to be complete.
Now Origin will try to make you update the game again and won’t let you play unless you apply the patch. How to avoid this?
- Open Origin. In the menu, click Origin -> Application settings -> Updates. Make sure all options are unchecked. Restart Origin.
- Now click Origin -> Go offline. Start the game. You will be prompted to sign into your account in a different, non-Origin window. You should now be able to play the game.
There is also a way to get rid of Origin for good, but I don't know if I'm allowed to talk about it in this forum.
^ The benefits of system restore, one I was foolish to ignore
Its an issue with the licensing server
Not impressed that the game is insisting on re-activating itself, not being able to do so and locking me out. It's bad enough that I didn't get any of the extra content I paid for, but to be locked out altogether is totally unacceptable.
Apologies if that sounds stroppy, but this obsession with DRM is getting really out of hand.
It is DRM. Its not actually biowares fault but the Origin Server. I went through an Origin log before the patch & after. It seems the game is being denied access to the digital licensing server.
License Request Server HTTP response code = 404
License Request Server Response state code=4
(that repeats 4 times and then finally, it reports)
404 error encountered obtaining license.
The dreaded 404 strikes again!

Fanboys eh? Heh
Curious, since Deneovo has already been cracked apparently, is there much of a point to it existing at all? May not be much but I'll take those extra 2 or 3 frames per sec with that thing gone.

Wish I'd seen this before I reinstalled
And my system restore apparently doesn't like keeping anything for more than a day *sigh*
They've definitely put this patch through QA, but not everything gets picked up during QA. I wish there was some sort of official response from EA or BioWare, but they're undoubtedly doing the best they can. Just be patient.
"but not everything gets picked up during QA"
EXCEPT THIS STUFF IS PRETTY DAMN HARD TO MISS LOLOL

ETA on hotfix?
We better not have to wait a week for bioware mistake.

I'm pretty sure there's an option you can modify to change this, but I can't remember where it is off the top of my head. Any Windows expert who can help?
By the way, one day would have been sufficient, since the patch came out less than 24 hours ago.

Bioware gave a work around, I hope it will help you : http://forum.bioware...9#entry18031083
Yeah but is a problem that we have to fix or we just wait until Bioware or EA or whatever fix it?

That's nice and all but how does that fix the crashes and other non-graphical issues that are now popping up for people who had no issues beforehand?
Right. It doesn't. All I'm saying is I better get some DLC for this amateur hour BS.

They were behind SecuROM and the rootkit debacle that got Sony in hot water. It is in the best interest of the company to deny any potential flaw in the software.
For those who may have missed it, here's a temporary work around

Then try the tip o the girl above about how to rollback if the work around didn't help you.

Oh god, I hope we don't have to wait that long. I'll be devastated. I finally have some time for gaming since I am am taking this semester off to do volunteer work and get some experience. This was my most anticipated game of the year. I really do hope I can finish playing this game before I start school again.
it's working for me now. Hopefully things will start to smooth out for everyone.
