Okay, my banters are out of control after patch.
So far Ive had two different conversations repeat over and over and over and over again. Anyone else with this issue?

I may be a bit late to the party here, but is there a fix for the shiny hair? Pre-patch I fixed it my turning mesh quality or whatever it was to high, now it appears that doesnt work. Dont know how they managed to f*** up this badly, because now it looks even shinier than it did before.
I mean its blinding. My inquisitor could stop traffic
Also, I'm going to have to create a new character because my warrior had a post-patch makeover where she had a different hair colour and looked 900 years old. Would post a pic, but its far too tragic
And I deleted the save files in anger. After a reinstall. Before realising origin auto-patches. *Sigh*. I was attached to that character, too. First decent looking FemInquisitor I ever made haha.
Seriously, I have to laugh at how much they dropped the ball here. I originally had the PS3 version on launch. Took that back to EB Games (Australias version of gamestop, same sorta thing), argued with them until I got the PC version instead, because at least it didn't have missing textures. And now this? Patches are never perfect, but what in the world happened?
Maybe this should be a lesson for most of us, don't pre-order games for launch. *facepalm*
Also, as many people have reported, my game was fine until the patched. Now it stutters and pop ins are ridiculous.
Oh.. That wasn't a good idea. The complexions were broken cause of the mesh mismatch problem which there is a work around for now. If you made a new character now it would look different again once they fix the complexion problem. So... pretty much you shouldn't of deleted your character and you should of just waited for the hotfix or use the work around and your face would of reverted back to normal.
It's amazing to me how people don't click on "show bioware posts", the BIG RED BUTTON. That was literally the first thing I did when I got to this thread.

Lol! I know that now, but I was impatient.
Heh. Doesn't matter, I've been wanting to do a Mage playthrough anyway. And thanks for the replies, I'll check out Bioware's fix and see if that works. Fingers crossed.
Huge thanks to players for testing this awful patch and being so patient towards EA business practices.
I'm not yet infected by this patch, since luckily I play in offline mode, takes ~2 mins until Origins gives up trying to go online mode - then asks for password, then the game starts slowly, until there's a crash sooner or later, and all starts over. I still struggle to "play" this once - unpatched, with pain inducing controls & "endless clicks" UI - terrible game... But some landscapes are amazing on ultra settings, and the story writers deserve all the praise. That "Once we were" song in the tavern is beautiful, just can't make that NPC sing again, it's bugged (except that one time at Haven). That's it: story, landscape, songs... the rest is dreadful: ugly characters (except Leliana, and very few others), poor clothing, endless struggle with the controls and UI, laggy DRM and poorly optimized sytem use (I play on Ultra, it's OK, but it's not smoother on low... all the same), and forget the combat (since no way to control properly, delayed reactions, very poor UI feedback, terrible AI).
I no longer hope that this can be fixed, I gave up already. The game autosaves without allowing me to turn autosave off ("they" know better...), same with controls" no way to remap or turn them off (some of them). Origin wants to go online, no matter what... insists. Bad taste attitude, all over the "product" - UI based on this same concept, on knowing better what the customer wants -- or should want. Invasive takeover business practices - no more respect, no more freedom. We still expect from them to communicate what's wrong - they can't... no human being likes these, but they are not allowed to speak against. We all are just slaves of a system that tries to squeeze money at every step. The balance is always fragile - how far to go, without going too far?
No ETA for the hotfix, right?
For all those who found their game broken, like myself, I devised a way to roll back to a pre-patch state.
It worked for me, and I hope I can help someone.
First of all, if you installed the patch, do not make any new savefiles and do not overwrite old ones. You will not be able to load them once your game is back to its pre-patch state.
- In your Programs folder, open the Origin folder and find the Dragon Age Inquisition folder.
IMPORTANT: back up your Dragon Age Inquisition folder in case anything goes awry.- Right-click the folder and choose the Properties tab. Click “Previous versions”.
- You will now see several dated previous versions of the folder. Choose one from BEFORE you installed the patch. Select it and choose “Restore”. This will take quite long - 30+ minutes or even more if your computer is slow. Be patient and wait for the process to be complete.
Now Origin will try to make you update the game again and won’t let you play unless you apply the patch. How to avoid this?
- Open Origin. In the menu, click Origin -> Application settings -> Updates. Make sure all options are unchecked. Restart Origin.
- Now click Origin -> Go offline. Start the game. You will be prompted to sign into your account in a different, non-Origin window. You should now be able to play the game.
There is also a way to get rid of Origin for good, but I don't know if I'm allowed to talk about it in this forum.
Edit.
Nevermind, just did the command promt change and it fixed my characters apperance. Tho the game still feels abit choppy (lag stutter here and there).
"do not make any new savefiles".
I got multi saves from before patch 2, and a new save with buggy patch. Will folder restore still work?.
I rather wait for a proper fix, don't want to mess up my stuff.
They screwed this up didn't they? I was wondering why my game looked so... washed out. It started when I saw the beard of one of the walking NPC's in the courtyard. It looked like his beard had a nice time with a Yogurt.
Maybe Adan learned how to mix hairgel, and it sort of caught on? ![]()
I've noticed that my performance is way worse then prepatch. Prepatch (55-80 fps), post-patch WITH work-around (38-60 fps). Shaders put on ultra again.
I think this is driver related OR the patch f*cked something else up, on the previous AMD beta drivers it seemed to run way better, i should test this when i have the time.
Either way, bioware please optimize for the new AMD omega catalyst driver.
http://support.amd.c...=Windows 7 - 64
...noooooooooooooooooooooo
Is it possible to deactivate this in the menu ? (T3 Sulevin farming FTW)
Just don't hit "F" again when the loot window is up ??? Problem solved.
Considering all the issues ppl are having with this patch i decided to cancel download (for once i'm glad to have slow ISP) and pretend no update exist.
Funny thing is everything works just fine i can play SP even log into multiplayer (even though cant seem to find anyone for match might be patch issue xD)
but can start solo run and use store just fine.
The patch did nothing for me, in fact I think it crashes more often both in-game and during conversations, without the card even struggling.
I have ATI XFX R7900 with the new drivers from today, used ATI tool to optimize for performance (since no way can I run with the optimized graphic settings since it will crash the game almost immediately)
I have run the fix at the start of this thread.
What I have discovered is that -do not pick up loot. Do not get enemies or trees up-close (switched to archer worked better) save before talking to anyone, click on something random before buy/sell. Move slowly (especially in battle or into a new area). Disable certain abilities from companions. I'm playing on easy now just to get through the game but it feels like playing hardcore...
Command line workaround has done the trick for me. No shine, smooth gameplay so far, improved search function, all settings ultra/fadetouched. It's a shame the patch was messy, but I'm pleased a workaround was found so quickly ![]()
I could care less about the graphics because i run all on medium (Meshes on high) but i would like to know if we can deactivate the "take all in container" that got added in this patch
Why do you need a "deactivate" For it ?? When you are in the looting menu just don't hit "F" and you can loot how we always have before the patch. There are multiple people on here asking about an option for it when you don't even need it >_> BIGGER PROBLEMS WITH THE GAME ARE AT HAND ATM IF YOU HAVE NOT NOTICED! Lol.

using now patch2 with hotfix and the omega driver and got a big fps boost and nearly no stuttering anymore. did you a proper uninstall of previous drivers?
I'm not sure if this will help anyone, but I was having really bad lag, conversations out of sync, really slow combat. I fiddled around with the resolutions and found one that reduced all that quite a bit. Now it's nearly back to the way it was before the patch, mesh and shader on high so not a lot of shine either. The resolution I found worked is 1280x768 75.03hz in case it helps anyone else.
I can confirm workaround works for me as well, game has returned to looking the way it used to with a bit of improved performance(nothing major for me since it was runing good enough before as well with everything on ultra), i played for about 3 hours now after applying the workaround can also confrim no sttutering,CTDs or laging issuses so far(than again game has been runing good for me prepatch as well with 2CTDs in well over 100 hours of gameplay so i am probably not the best judjge on that).
Other than that some things i wud consider minor glithces and anoyances have been succesfully patched(voice change bug for example), and i do like the improved search and pickup functions.

Playing with an AMD card? I have an Nvidia GTX 780 and its unplayable because of stutter every 5 seconds even in menu using latest drivers. Bevore the patch no problems at all. How is it possible, that this patch passed qa? Really Bioware with a performance like your's with that patch, i had already lost my job. There is no excuse for let that piece of crap go online.
Sorry for my bad english

No, I have a GTX970.
Update: Hotfix in the works for PC
We're working on getting a hot fix out for the PC graphics issue as soon as possible. In the meantime, here is a workaround you can try:
To start, make sure the quality setting you choose is equal to the setting set for Mesh Quality inside Options>Graphics
You will need to add a new command line parameter. To do this:
Through Origin:
- Right click on the Dragon Age Inquisition title
- Go to game properties
- Type the command line parameter in the Command Line Properties box.
Through shortcut:
- Right Click Shortcut
- Go to Properties
- Under target go to the end of the field and type the command line parameter into the box
Once there, add the following command line parameter: -ShaderSystem.ShaderQualityLevel <quality setting>
In this instance, <quality setting> should be one of the following:
- Ultra
- High
- Medium
- Low
An example of how to set your quality to high would be: -ShaderSystem.ShaderQualityLevel High
Please note that once the hot fix is out, you will need to go back in and remove this workaround from your command line.
It’s also important to note that pre-patch 2, all users on PC were being forced to use the Ultra shader quality. This means that those of you playing on lower settings will notice a decrease in quality, particularly players using low or medium settings.
To achieve the same visuals as pre-patch, users on lower settings will need to change their settings to Ultra, which should likewise be used in conjunction with Ultra mesh quality. Mismatching the mesh and shader settings will result in other visual artifacts like overly shiny hair.
Please be aware that changing settings to Ultra may impact performance on some machines.
Sorry about any frustration this may have caused.
Patch 2 notes are now live

i left clicked on shortcut & added parameter in the end of "C:\Games\Dragon Age Inquisition\DragonAgeInquisition.exe" in properties (but nothing changed) Target "C:\Games\Dragon Age Inquisition\DragonAgeInquisition.exe" parameter, & after that i right clicked on DAI shortcut & i got straight in game & changing setting in game still had no effect, seems it does not work for me
i also tried "C:\Games\Dragon Age Inquisition\DragonAgeInquisition.exe" parameter: -ShaderSystem.ShaderQualityLevel <quality setting> & result same
by default after installing the game all settings were medium Mesh i swished to high to get rid off plastic hair, i did it after installation when i got in first time, so even it it would worked changing all to high to get mesh high mite not be good, unless it gives option to change each settings like in game
Erm, my character's scars are gone...as are the ones in the CC
not even showing.
I play on low graphics but before the patch, they showed just fine on low...
Just wanted to add that I'm also experiencing the freezing issue. Sometimes the game would just completely lock up for a couple of seconds. It happens during combat or just exploring. This was not present pre-patch.

Okay, sorry for the stupid basic questions which you've probably already done anyway - but are you running any background programs (Origin/Steam overlays, MSI afterburner, Riva Tuner, things like that?) It seems that background stuff can interfere with the running of the game.
Both you and Sugram - are you sure you applied the workaround correctly? Like, leaving a space after the last quotation mark after .exe". Again, I apologise if this comes off as patronising, I'm just trying to help ![]()
So C:\Games\Dragon Age Inquisition\DragonAgeInquisition.exe" -ShaderSystem.ShaderQualityLevel Ultra
Also, they made a mistake Hollerboller mate. It happens, we're all people, no matter our jobs, and none of us are flawless, and no-one should be fired here. It sucks that the patch has broken things for people, but they're doing their best to fix it.
@Ex-Paladin - have you tried the workaround? That fixed the scar issue for me.
