Judging by some of the posts here, I have a feeling a LOT of people are going to disappointed by this patch.

Oooh Origin updated. Went into game and I haven't noticed any difference yet. No "Auto Attack" in Key bindings anyway
This was just an update of origin itself, not the game.

It says 1 of 1 - Installation Complete (Dragon Age Inquisition)

You're at war, and you were already attacked once at your home base. I'd think if you weren't sleeping you'd be in armor. There's no chilling!
I can see your point but have you seen the color of Skyhold's stonework? The current ensemble is camouflage, my friend! Stand against the wall and the enemy will run right by.

Sadly if you check for an update is says that even if nothing updated.

That's because you clicked "check for updates" and after Origin realises your game is up to date (with prepatch version) it'll come up with 1 of 1

Ah well at least that explains why I didn't notice anything different lol.

This message always pops up when you search for updates, so it doesn't necessarily mean that it was patched recently.
And it wasn't just yet, I'm pretty sure.

auto attack in DAI?
i don't think it's possible. In this game you fail attack only if your position is bad (too far from enemies). if they add auto attack you will ALWAYS hit enemies. DAO and DA2 had auto attack because we had attack/defense stats and you could miss.

Today I learned an "entire month" is precisely 21 days long.
If you're going to be bitter, at least be accurate in your bitterness. You have waited three weeks.
I love how you just zero in on the fact that he exaggerated on how long he had to wait. As if that's the point of his post at all. Oh and yes do jump all over a CUSTOMER that expects to GET WHAT HE PAID FOR. The nerve of some people, expecting to get what they paid for!

If you pay for a game with no bugs or bad aspects to it on release than you have never gotten what you paid for when buying a game in your life.
I would also wait before starting to insult bioware even more for being late...most companies don't release patches at 7 am pacific time..

He paid for software.
Software inevitably has bugs and needs to be patched, no matter how good your QA is.
Get over it.

This is the problem with this gaming, people like you who just suck it up like paying money means nothing. Yes I did get games with no bugs or problems on release, only now in these last few years has it been a problem constantly from AAA developers, it has been especially bad in 2014.

It is too much to expect communication from someone who you constantly **** on any time they give you information you don't like. Entitled is a buzz word for a reason...many gamers are starting to embody the term.
Good straw man, Tsunami. Because that's exactly what was happening, right? Right?
While I agree in general with your sentiment, I think his point was not necessarily "hurtful or threatening", but more "polite" and "communicate like an adult". If we can change the buzzword of "entitled", we can also change the paradigm of "make so much noise they have to fix it and/or respond". The latter is, in my opinion, way worse than calling someone entitled.
What recourse do gamers have?
Communication does not and should not require additional conditions; the conditions were set the moment this business accepted our money.
The behavior of a community like this one is the responsibility of community management--a team that EA/BioWare appears to have, but does not use. They ignored the community on this forum following Thanksgiving, and despite early voices being "polite" and "adult," the community was still ignored. The longer the community went without communication--even simple information--the louder the voices got, the more tense the situation became.
I was there for the SimCity disaster. We know how EA operates by now; their MO in a storm is to quarantine and go silent. Their belief seems to be that if you ignore a problem, it ceases to exist. But as always, they're forced to come out of their holes and engage with their fans because this is a transaction. We don't owe them anything anymore; we paid for their product/service and it's up to them to make good on the deal.

Ya cause the main problems with DAI is bugs and not the horrible UI, tac cam and bullshit anti PC design decisions when the advertised the opposite....

The ones who got the patch, could you answer this: does our beta test ends today, does it fix CTDs at least?

No one on PC has been patched yet so we can not answer you.

This. I don't expect zero bugs, that's just ridiculous. But that doesn't mean we should expect major features or critical things (like PC controls) to be buggy on release. It's not the fact that a game has bugs, all software has bugs, it's a matter of HOW BAD these bugs are. And missing features that were promised but excluded because the developers "ran out of time"? Lol, that's unacceptable. Do you buy a car with a missing wheel because they "ran out of time" during the assembly process? And then do you THANK THEM when they finally add the fourth wheel, weeks later?

You got the point man.
Your example explains very well what it's happening.
Im glad too that the patch is imminent, but we don't have to forget that some of us couldn't play the game at all for 3 weeks

Nope. You take your wheel and you give them the evil eye on your way out.

every game has bugs, every game has a dealine and they run out of time before they can add everything they wanted. If you can't accept the reality of the word then by all means call it "unacceptable" but it's not going to change.
