The tooltip says that you gain focus by dealing damage in a fight. But a lot of times I'll be whaling on the bad guys, but my focus meter doesn't move. Eventually it starts filling up, but it might take half a minute or more. What's happening here?
This is with a human warrior, S&B champion.

You don't really see the Focus building up. It builds but rather slowly. If you want to increase Focus gain get the Skill and trigger combos in combat. Focus Belts also work.

If you grab the focus building perk and play with a Rift Mage (Weaken + Shocked = Sleep primer on everything), you build it up extremely fast.
