For crying out loud, I cancelled the update at 50% when Is saw this thread in the hopes of waiting until it was fixed but I can't launch the game without applying the patch.

Serious question from someone who has no prior experience with origin - can I do this? Like, can I disconnect the internet and start Origin and play? I thought it would have to connect to verify (and I don't think I can keep it in offline mode through restarts like Steam).

I've canceled an upload either, and turned off the 'keep my games up to date' option. Hope it won't try to download and install anything now. I'd rather play as is, the only real issue I had was random texture flickering (SLI) and few rare crashes. I won't play this game with a shiny hair! And I've also seen reports about the issues with previous saves. What a heck do they think they're doing?!

Technically, it only needs to be online when you first install and play it for verification purposes. Afterwards, you should be able to enter offline mode and play without issue. I know that's how it works for most Origin games, but I haven't tested it on DAI to tell you for sure.

I tried to play DAI a couple times while my internet was down and was not permitted to do so by Origin. Dunno if that was me or Origin though.

Well the new shine at least looks better than the previous shine - playmobil hairpiece. Now its just like hair with extra extra extra hairgel on it

For once I'm glad they held off the patch for Xbox One. Hopefully shiny hair and no scars issue will be cleared up before release.

Feel sorry for the other players, though.

Does this patch work ok with a game in progress or is a restart needed? Playing on PS4. Any known PS4 issues? It seems that the PC players have one.

Good thing I didn't patch it myself yet. Although perhaps these bugs only affect current playthroughs rather than new ones.

its not just the shiny hair, all the meshes were downgraded, and its pretty clear during the cutscenes. Post processing has also been made worse, and there are hinterlands pictures showing how the grass looks a lot worse, and even the mountains and far terrain has had huge downgrades.

Yeah, the icy ground in the prologue (which was beautiful) isn't looking so nice now either. And there are LOTS of things that are suddenly shiny that weren't before. I started a new character and scars/freckles don't show Oops, hopefully a quick fix is incoming.

Also, my Inquisitor keeps floating?
If I walk off a rock or other platform, she floats for a second before falling down. If I don't move her, she'll stay floating there.
This just keeps getting weirder and weirder.

I'm getting this with my party members too, they're floating on top of obstacles.

No. Noooo! I don't want this. I hope I can manage to start the game without applying the patch. However, until now, playing Inquisition on Origin has been nothing but a pain, so we shall see how that goes.

Also, the patch notes didn't say anything about the banter bug? Or did I miss something?

Yes he is, this is happening. Avoid this patch if you're on PC. Just avoid. Seems okay on PS4, I believe.
