post processing and scars are all bugged too! and they fixed absolutely 0 about the mouse and keyboard XD. Funny thing too, they downgraded all the graphics, and the game still runs all over the place, still dips in fps, and the cinematics are still hitching and dipping eventhough the meshes and the post processing is the same as medium or low, no matter  what.

I don't suppose we can 'roll-back' by deleting the Patch folder? I tried it earlier and the game refused to launch, but if we can only delete the files added by Patch 2 and keep the files added by Patch 1...

System restore should work.

Well besides the shiny stuff i havent found any other issue yet. The game runs smoother actually, the textures load almost instantly (which didnt pre-patch, with same graphics quality options now and then), and everything looks better too, besides too much shine on metals/hair/lips, and honestly i dont think the shine looks too bad. I just think that before the patch was better because there was a way to "loose" the shine; now, no matter what mesh quality you have, you'll always have shine...

Will have to play a bit more to see if i have any of the other bugs people are talking about, but so far this patch feels like an improvement to me (not saying other people are not having issues, just saying that i am not, atm).

Well I'm on PS3 and I gotta say I like the patch so far. I can see PC players being pissed off but I've been living with those downgraded no-scars-or-freckles graphics since launch so I'm used to it. :D

As for the rest, it seems more stable. Saving takes a crazy long times sometimes. I found that deleting my old saves and saving new ones made the new saves go a lot faster but I'll keep testing.

I like the little fixes, especially to the radar. Being able to see loot on the radar and it last a few seconds longer is pretty cool. Of course being a packrat I'll be going to pick every blip on the screen now.

Origin works in offline mode for me without the patch, but you will be disconnected from the Keep if you want to create a new character. Are these things tested at all before they are let loose? Surely someone noticed the hair fix made things worse not better.

I usually don't pay much attention to graphics details, but I am upset that Harding lost her freckles. :(

Yea, it's true. I had a nice, beautiful, bug free game last night and now it's a complete mess.

Here are two before and after screens of the patch. Just tried recreating the scene from screens I took earlier. There is a very noticeable difference in grass quality and the detail in the background. Same settings. To the person above: the game does load much faster and run better BUT that is because the settings were forced down.

Loading times are awful tho :( used to take me 10seconds of black loading screen before patch. Now it takes almost 2minutes to load Hinterlands......

I can also confirm longer loading times. I loaded a save in Skyhold from the main menu and managed to get through the entire main theme song (plus a bit of the intro again) before it would load. That has never happened before.

I was getting longer load/save times on PS3 after the patch. What I did was delete my old saves and save new, and the load/save times are much faster now. Dunno if this will apply for PC.

Also on PS3 the load times on the start screen from pressing Start to the game loading is much much faster after the patch.

Maybe they gave the PC folks got the Console patch by accident?

Okay, crisis averted (for me at least):

Hey Everyone,

We're working on getting a hot fix out for the PC graphics issue as soon as possible. In the meantime, here is a workaround you can try:

To start, make sure the quality setting you choose is equal to the setting set for Mesh Quality inside Options>Graphics

You will need to add a new command line parameter. To do this:

Through Origin:

  • Right click on the Dragon Age Inquisition title
  • Go to game properties
  • Type the command line parameter in the Command Line Properties box.
Through shortcut:
  • Right Click Shortcut
  • Go to Properties
  • Under target go to the end of the field and type the command line parameter into the box
Once there, add the following command line parameter: -ShaderSystem.ShaderQualityLevel
In this instance, should be one of the following:
  • Ultra
  • High
  • Medium
  • Low
An example of how to set your quality to high would be: -ShaderSystem.ShaderQualityLevel High

Please note that once the hot fix is out, you will need to go back in and remove this workaround from your command line.

It’s also important to note that pre-patch 2, all users on PC were being forced to use the Ultra shader quality. This means that those of you playing on lower settings will notice a decrease in quality, particularly players using low or medium settings.
To achieve the same visuals as pre-patch, users on lower settings will need to change their settings to Ultra, which should likewise be used in conjunction with Ultra mesh quality. Mismatching the mesh and shader settings will result in other visual artifacts like overly shiny hair.
Please be aware that changing settings to Ultra may impact performance on some machines.

Sorry about any frustration this may have caused.

Going to try this! Does it bring back scars?

EDIT -  Yes, yes it did.
