Hey. I just finished this mission and I can't help feel I fucked up and want to do it again. My question is, can you ally with those bad ass Elves you meet after completing the ritual AND have Morrigan drink out of the well AND have her NOT kill him? (The Elf badass)?

Or do you have to choose the "We need that Well" option?

Thank you for reading. PS I've stopped right after this mission so no further spoilers please!

I allied with the elves, Morrigan ran off, did all the fighting and killed Sansom, we had a speak with the elf leader, I said we needed the well, asked him to join us, he said no and ran off, Morrigan drank the well and we escaped.

I did exactly what you did my first playthrough. Human male rouge, had solas, varric and cassandra with me. Solas has a lot of lines here too that explore lore, but I think he also impacts the elf bad ass too.

You need to do the ritual. That is a major bonus. I also think it's what allows you even the chance to talk the guy into not fighting. Solas was a choice to speak to the guy down, and he managed it. I also think I had the ability to use the 'ancient lore' knowledge perk I got to talk him down. You know you're at a stand still with the guy when he gives you a guide for a secret path that skips a lot of the fighting, goes through a few areas that have a great amount of codex things on the wall and some ok loot to boot.

When it comes to the well, I think you just have to say i'm warry of the damages it could do, but destroying it is not the way. Solas said some things as well, then the bad ass just walked away peacefully.

Another question. Someone mentioned if you DON'T DO the ritual and jump straight after Calpernia you get some HUGE background lore but if you do do the ritual you miss that lore. Anyone know what it is?

I think that is backwards as you get a major lore bomb if you talk with the elves (which requires doing the ritual).

About what? Because nothing really struck me as "OMG" if you get what I'm saying. I didn't have Solas in my party and couldn't help think the Abaleas (Elf dude I think) looked exactly like him, bald head, high cheekbones etc. I take it Solas is one of these ancient elves?

Is that the lore bomb?

Oh! I see. Can I ask you one more question? On Burning Wings. "Recruit a Powerful Ally to Even The Score". How do I go about this? Don't want to start a new thread. You've been awesome so far btw!

If you are asking about the achievement, I have heard you have to drink from the well to get it. Seems silly to me if true since that would be the only choice related achievement. So it might just be that it is currently bugged.

The enemy has a dragon, so you need a dragon to even the odds. If you are familiar with the DA series you will know that Morrigan's family is quite talented in that regard; depending on your choices Morrigan may learn this skill, or you may have to go looking for another dragon.

Okay, I have read on the internet that "On Burning Wings" achievement is gained by drinking from the well yourself. I did that but I received only achievement for being first in the temple.

Could anyone put an insight to this? Maybe it will be awarded later near the end of the game?

On Burning Wings will be awarded on the step right before going after the main bad guy, and only if you drink from the well.  If Morg does it, no dice.

Yeah. My dorf did that.

Did ritual (NOT chasm).

Allied with elves.

Respected Abelas's desire to 'keep well unsoiled' - Corypheus was the goal.

In the end, Abelas notes you have proven yourself worthy and have earned it, whatever he thinks, and leaves you to do w/e. If Solas is with you, they have a few partying words.

At that point, you make your choice as per you or Morrigan.

You get the lore bomb doing the ritual if you talk to abelas.
