EA needs to get its act together. I mean you would think that a game as anticipated as Mass Effect 2 would be cause to make sure you had your problems sorted out before you launch.

I'm trying to but it is still not working.  It logs on, laptop is close, if I connect, it prompts for the network activation code.

I sent an email to EA.com. Going to post here also just in case it's faster:

I purchased Mass Effect 2 Collector's Edition through Amazon.com.

I registered my game at http://social.bioware.com and it was registered fine. I tried to redeem my Cerberus Network card and the Collector's edition armor and gun both in game and at the website and I get a message saying both of the codes are in use.

Have restarted game a few times and Cerberus terminal still doesnt come up.

What do you mean use the same login as you used before?  The game automatically logs me in and shows the Connect button for Cerberus network.  Then it only gives me the options of entering a Cerberus code or Purchasing a new code or Cancel.  This is still not very clear at all.

try going into the options menu, and turning off auto-login.
after that, then restart the game. your login prompt will once again come up. enter the credentials from the social site.

Same problems as posters above. Purchased ME2 CE from best buy today. My Cerberus activation code was 'already in use', as was the CE code for armour/weapons.

Nope, still nothing working for me either. The first time I tried to redeem the code it also said that it was in use. Same for the Collector armor and rifle. Very, very annoying.

I am still having the problem. Each time I log in inside the game, it asks for an activation code.

Note: I haven't activated Cerberus on the website because it gave me the same error as well. This is also the case with the collectors edition code (for the collector armor).

I would appreciate any help on this.

Okay, I just tried that.  Turned off auto-login.  Restarted the game.  It did prompt for login and password.  Entered both exactly as what I used to login at social.bioware.com.  It then only game me the options of entering a Cerberus code or Purchasing a new code or Cancel.  DID NOT WORK.

For the record I pre-ordered a CE from amazon, and am unable to redeem any of the codes included with the box. Re-logging into my social/ea account in the game just now did not allow me to access cerberus.

Just got home from work and installed the game. Loaded up the game and tried the code and it didn't work.

Looks like I was posting in the wrong thread about this issue. I'm not sure if you guys already have a record of the broken codes for each person, but mine is reporting as in use already as well. PC version, collector's edition.

Having the same problem. Cerberus code and collectors edition code both give the 'already in use' error message. Collectors edition purchased through EBGames.

I just want to thank the Bioware folks for the quick fix! I was having issues with my Cerbeus code being in use, played ME2 for 3 hours, went to bed, woke up, tried again and the Cerberus laptop/network works perfectly now when I auto-login. Thanks again! I have to say I LOVE how the laptop authenticates your code then opens up. REALLY cool

I just turned the game back on, and it seems that the auto-login has connected to the Cerberus network. Very happy to see this issue has been resolved in a relatively quick manner, thanks.

Still no luck for me. When I log in it asks me to enter the code for Cerberus.

I spoke to an EA rep (EARepAustin to be precise) via live chat and he told me that the codes that came in my box were already registered to some guy that is not me .He gave me new codes and enabled my Cerberus access.



So it looks like either duplicate codes were printed in some boxes, or people somehow got the codes early.

He kept insisting however that the inferno armor was the collector's edition armor and wouldn't give me a new code for the collector's armor.
