Since patch 2 is out, does it address the voice change glitch? Or do I have wait?

If so, I want to recreate my male human to have an American accent.

Just checked, and this glitch is not fixed. Disappointing.

Is the patch actually out yet? Origin hasn't downloaded anything for me yet. Unless I missed it...

I've been waiting for the mad rush on here all day while at work, of people coming to announce the patch has been released, and all that it fixes.

So far, that hasn't happened.

How did you check it?

It probably won't return you to your originally chosen voice if you are loading after the "crisis point" since the choice "value" is most likely permanently reset after it.

You'll need to load before the "crisis point" (even this might be not true) or start a new game ( safe bet).

Restart Origin if you want it but you may be better holding off as it seems to have broken some things as well fixing some...

The bug was fixed by the patch.  The people saying that it wasn't are those expecting the fix to correct their already affected characters, which probably isn't possible.

But has Bioware confirmed that this patch addresses this bug? That is what I want to know.

I do not want to create a male human with an American accent only to find out later that the bug was not fixed and my character will revert back to the soft English accent.

It's in the patch notes.

The patch is live now, but if you're playing on PC, you do not want to install it.

Currently, it destroys the graphics. Skin effects (including scars and complexions), hair and cloth shaders, post-processing effects (including DoF and motion blur), and vegetation and water quality are all impacted (likely ambient occlusion as well, given how the grass now looks, and who knows what else).

If you've been playing on high or ultra settings, you'll quickly notice the game looks like trash now. Your voice may not change when you customize Hawke anymore (it doesn't sound like it's retroactive, so if your voice already changed you're probably stuck with it), but both you and Hawke will look like ass, so it's really not much of an improvement.

Then you should be good to go. It looks like it's confirmed to be fixed (though it's not retroactive). :)
