My Inquisitor char is a DW Rogue. I have AI off and micromanage her during fights, which works fine, except that she seems to be locked on a target after attacking it, i.e. if I attack a bandit in tactical view and then decide that Cassandra can finish him off while my char takes care of another bandit, my Rogue still tends to attack the first bandit. Am I missing something obvious that I should do to be able to switch targets freely?

There are orders and instructions in tac cam. They work independently but instructions get carried before orders and orders suppress instructions if they come after them.  Orders are move to and/or attack actions, instructions are skills/potions use.

So you can, for example, attack an enemy and use a skill on another to then continue attacking the previous enemy. To switch to another target totally you must put an attack order on that target. From that point it will be the one focused upon until you switch to another one by another attack order.

Examples:
- You put an order to attack target A (right click on it) and then put an instruction to cast a skill on target B (you simply select target B - left click - and use the skill). When you unpause the character will first use the skill on target B then it will continue to attack target A with normal attacks.
- You put an instruction to use a skill on target B and then put an order to attack target A. In this instance the instruction will not be carried out (it will be override by the order) and on unpause the character will simply attack target A.
- You put an order to attack target A and then use a skill on it. After unpause the skill is first used and then normal attacks. From that point on target A will be the focus of auto attacks (and skills by default if another target is not selected while using them) until you don't switch an attack order to another target.

The game seems to have a sticky targeting feature that probably makes it more controller friendly. It can be a pain in the butt if you're trying to play in real time.

Right, thanks. In my case, the issue is that I order my char to use a skill (say, Twin Fangs) on Target A. Then I order my char to use a skill (say, Twin Fangs again) on Target B - but very often (always?), she will use that skill on Target A anyway. I almost never use normal attacks with my DW Rogue, except for finishing off targets with low health. So still not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if it's just glitching.

I had been having this problem; in tac cam now what I do is make sure the red circle underneath my intended target indicates that it's my target (the circle doubles or something) before unpausing, don't think I've had the problem since then. Sometimes it seems like I have to click more than once for it to work.

My solution is this if I want to switch target when using skills: I right-click on the next target, which seems to say "attack with normal attack" and then immediately choose the skill I want to use and left-click on the same target. This way my char will switch target using the skill I want.

Because you don't first select (left click) on target B before using the skill. If you don't it will be performed by default on the attacked target (in this case target A).

Aha. OK, I think I got it now.
