I adore Cole, and other than Sera and Vivienne, everyone seemed to grow more and more attached to him as time went on. He's a wonderful character who only wants to help others because he wants people to be happy. He is the most selfless character I have ever run across. I would adopt him in a heartbeat if he was real.

I love the thought of Cole slipping honey.

He has become my favorite character in the game.

Same here, though I admit I wasn't sure what to make of him at first. However, after listening to him, seeing how he interacts with others and doing his personal quest.....I totally loved him. I especially love how Varric is with him. He's very....fatherly toward him.

Cole is my favourite character in Dragon Age. ^_^

I think that if more people were a little bit more like Cole the world would be a better and prettier place. (well, that sounded less cheesy in my head)

(Also, I respect everyone's opinion on this. It's just what I think of him)

I admit I ended up not disliking Cole.  I wouldn't say I loved him or anything, but he was ok.  I don't think I've ever taken him on a mission.

Cole likes hats.

That's enough for me to adore him to little pieces.

If you ever DO decide to take him on a mission, make sure its to the fade. He has quite a bit to say in there, and had Iron Bull all concerned for him.

He wasn't what I thought he'd be, and I quite liked him in the end. I'm glad that I had him become more human and also taugt him to go with the stabbing thing just a bit less (unless it involves stabbing enemies, which I totally encourage).

Ended up liking Cole. Still chuckle over his surprise at the revelation that clothes come off.

Cole likes hats.

That little leather strap that holds up the front of his wide brim a little to help him see just cracks me up for some reason. It likely doesn't even help that much, but it kind of makes sense anyway. I have headgear turned off because most look stupid, but seeing Cole in the field without his hat, or Vivienne without the badass Maleficent horns, still feels wrong.

Huh. After a playthrough of taking Cole many places and then listening to most of it's companion banter dialogue, I came to a different conclusion.

A few, actually. For one, I think 'it' is a more accurate form of address, though I'll admit I'll lazily use 'him.' But more to the point, while it hardly stirs passionate hatred, I have a negative view of Cole and it's actions. I consider Cole's conduct, whether it's beyond Cole's control or not, an invasive and systemic violation of the rights and consent of everyone around it.

Oh,

Spoiler
But I fully admit that I only talked to in Skyhold and his companion mission, so he comes across as fairly benign.

Cole tried to blend in (don't mind the bloody grey warden armor though)

*snerk*

It's the lack of headgear, obviously. All he needs is his hat, then he will blend in perfectly. ;)

Oh,

Spoiler

Does he still mind read the unwilling and blab about their inner-thoughts without so much as a 'would you mind'?

I know he can no longer mind-wipe, which is great as far as improvements go, but there's a good deal more he needs to not do.

But I fully admit that I only talked to in Skyhold and his companion mission, so he comes across as fairly benign.

It goes past 'creepy but benign' to active harassment, and then some. His violation of consent and mental integrity would justify the phrase 'mind rape.' A very generous and soft-balled depiction to which the audience is repeatedly coached to think is great and good and that the recipients deserve it, but mind rape none the less.

You've known me for long enough to know I wouldn't throw that around a phrase unless I was serious about the conclusion.

Bull/Cole and Bull/Cole/Solas banter is the best.

"You two just work it out of your system. Like poison. Weird ass poison."

I can imagine some will feel Cole is mind raping them.

It takes a lot to throw away the way our civilisation has taught us to think, judge and respond. But none the less Cole is what I call 'back to basics', and in that matter I can only give him huge respect.

Is he lucky to be naive? I don't know. Is he naive?

Or is he pure?

I'll chalk this up to mental privacy doctrines having not advanced in Thedas anymore than political philosophy, which is why no one ever actually tells Cole that reading minds is wrong, per se.

On the subject of the thread, I like Cole a lot, except when fighting bruisers, because AOE melee is the kiss of death for Cole.
