Love the game. One of my top two favorite games of the last 3 years.
Constructive Criticism/feedback:
- some missions are boring (e.g., escorting a slow moving animal back to its owner)
- some missions are unnecessarily frustrating (e.g., spamming the sonar button to find enough hala statues to get the desired outcome in Orlais)
- Too much unnecessary traversal (e.g., why can't we travel directly to the war-room? I wanted more diverse landscapes than what was found in DA2, and you delivered! However, the exploration of these lands doesn't always avoid tedium or feel purposeful).
- Pacing. The main storyline ostensibly dies off after the section in which you must choose between a W**d*n and H*w*e and doesn't pick up until the end-game.
- Love the diverse side missions but they felt concatenated and not integrated to the main story the way the side missions were in Mass Effect 2. The ME2 side missions were optional yet purposeful. Moreover, no matter how many you did or skipped, the story seemed relatively streamlined and focused. I had some fun with DA:I's filler missions but they nonetheless feel like filler.
- I miss the ability to program AI similar to what was allowed in DA:O
- I miss the ability to switch between ranged and close combat as was allowed in DA:O.
- Timed War-room missions felt like freemium missions.
- For upcoming games, could you post youtube videos demonstrating fixes to the most common issues posted on EA's Answer HQ?
Thank you for all your hard work! Your game of the year award was well deserved!
PS
The EA help center is their Answer HQ but it's community help not customer support. When tech support beyond the assistance of your peers is needed, moderators direct you to the Bioware website. But your website's link for tech help sends you back to the community chat board. Where can we go if we're having tech issues that aren't answered by the EA chat board? For example, my PS4 cannot access the dragon age server and thus, I cannot load my world-state. My internet connection is fine (30-80 mbps), I can download the game from the PSN store, enter my keep choices using the PS4 browser and load the state, make sure my origin and PSN email/ID are the same using the PS4 browser, and play other multiplayer games online without issue. On the off chance someone will read this, can anyone help? So far I've tried the following:
- renew licenses
- wifi connection
- wired connection
- port forwarding (ports assigned were per Sony's website; I don't have any port numbers for DA:I specifically)
- assign a static IP
- only downloading DA (i have the digital copy) and the update but not the Deluxe items
- setting the date/time manually
- setting the date/time automatically
- double check PSN email and Origin email
