Blackwall you kiss first, too. But it works for the scene.

male romances in DAO
1)Morrigan leaves you with or without child
2)Lelianna use and then leaves you so she would be with Divine
DA2..who have only 1 human hawke noble
1)Isabella is a pirate and sl*t of the half of Thedas ports, literaly and have disease...and yeah she will leave you to become a "admiral"
2)Merril is a elf and apostage nonandrastian dalish mage(yeah she is "really suited" to be a lover for a human noble)...and she will leave you for dalish and helping ciry elfs to escape from war
DAI romances
1)Josephine disney princes without any real romance for male inquisitor...just some flirt with kisses and hugs after all what he will done to her when 90% she will not noticing.....ahd thats all
2)Cassandra cheap tsundere chantry warrior...who will leave you and become a Divine or will restore/reform her Seekers
and yeah again only boring humans and nonmages andratian females to romance...females have a options and differences in romances and a damn godlike creature to romance

Maybe they watch to many drama shows and think that's what girls want?
Iron Bull is a laugh. I look forward to my romance playthrough with him. ![]()
Ugh...here I was going to romance Blackwall with my dwarfette (he's the closest thing to a dwarf since I can't have Varric)....but now I'm not so sure with such a background.

Yeah, IB's romance starts off more of a fling but develops into romance if you stick with it, and it's pretty sweet actually haha. Then there's Cullen, the ultimate safe romance. So for DAI, it's not bad. straight female characters have 2 no-drama LI's available to them which is the same for everyone else, plus more. I will agree though that in general, female players have definitely gotten much more of a share of drama-llama romances in BioWare games, especially with Mass Effect.

Well if we're going there, everyone in DAO and DA2 leaves the player character, since they're alone when you encounter them again.
I just want my girls to have happy endings too! *sad face*

Honestly, this is why I stick to my gay guy pairings. I know its not everyone's cup of tea, but its a tea that suits me just fine. And I get adorable moments...like Dorian yelling at my elf because he though he'd lost him. So sweet... ![]()
Also, since I'm chatting with a few fellow girls who've played Bioware games...what is the obsession with Thane in Mass Effect? He's to much like a humanoid cricket in my eyes...and rather creepy. ![]()

People with voice things.
I have a voice thing. I would have killed the entire noble class of Kirkwall myself for a chance to romance the Arishok.
Voice things do funny things to people.

That's just cause they were to lazy to do cameos of the heroes. Plus, it would threaten some people's head canons of what occurred after endgame. I was happy enough with Zevran (despite his weird appearance in DA2), as he was happy at the end to leave and rejoin my warden. ![]()
I really must protest this insistence by people that straight ladies have too many disasters.
The truth is that straight men don't have enough.
Small, but very important distinction.
Lol. So true in that respect.

Oooooh...Ok. I mean, I like voices to. Hell knows I LOVE Fenris's voice. But it would take more then that to get over Thane's various creep factors for me. Still, that makes some sense.

So I don't understand the point of this thread....
If your point is you don't like the 'punch in the gut twist' for some of the male romance options then surely you should be arguing that Bioware stop doing this. What you seem to be saying is that you don't like it so can Bioware make sure that male gamers suffer as much. It seems a very negative attitude. Also the Morrigan end in DAO is a gut twist for males romancing her as well.... particularly if you do the dead and she runs of with your child.

Thane was an incredible, bada* assassin with deep spirituality and thoughtfulness. And had an adorable nickname and a melting voice.
*shrugs* As I always say in life, and its pretty much my motto, to each their own.
But its nice to finally hear some explanations from people about why they liked Thane. I know I was thrilled when I found out Kaidan was voiced by same guy who did Carth Onasi from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Got I have a thing for that voice. xD

I think you guys have had your share of gut punches to. I think that's just Bioware for ya. ![]()

Yeah fair enough... I think any story that provokes an emotional response is well written... the bad stories are the ones you don't care about.

Actually, I'd prefer that everyone had a happy ending. But if others want drama, then let's at least have equal drama ![]()

I like drama. It adds a sort of spiciness to the romance that I dig. But I also like a way to overcome it. With Anders, I felt like there was no alternative to how things played out. I couldn't find a cure and I couldn't stop him or convince him to let go. Really, there was either agree with him or not. Kill him or don't. Meh.

And of course if you get through DA:O, then DA:I can leave you with an Alistair vs Hawke choice with the right/wrong import
Yep. This is what happened to me. I just couldn't leave Alistair. Just couldn't. I'm hoping Hawke is somehow retrievable in a later DLC. The game says if you choose them, they MAY die. Not WILL die. I'm holding out hope my Hawke isn't dead.

I think the point is just that it seems that the female romances end badly more often than the romances for guys. I agree. and I seem to always pick them, because the characters themselves seem more interesting and have a lot to say (Thane was by far the most interesting and fleshed out LI for women in ME2). That's why I am so ticked off at Solas right now (it's still fresh...). Next playthrough I am going right for Cullen. ![]()

I don't know! I've always been about Tali, myself. Made a ManShep puuuurely to romance her, even though she obviously had a huge crush on FemShep as well.

As someone that is a lady dwarf doing the Iron Bull romance, sure there is some humorous parts and some light heartedness. Poor poor Cullen...
However, if you continue with the romance, he will call you Kadan and there is an air that it's become a serious relationship.
