Iron Bull all the way!

I've only finished one so far, I'm halfway through my Cass romance and just started my Dorian and Sera romance characters, but for now Cullen gets my vote, simply because it was soooooo nice to have a (mostly) drama free relationship in Dragon Age for once.

Solas, for me. I had originally planned for Cullen, but Solas grew on me. And I'm so sad glad I chose him for my first playthrough.

I've completed one playthrough thus far, romancing Cullen. Cullen was... perfect. The amount of thought and effort that went into that showed through, and I am eternally grateful. I could talk forever and a day about Cullen and still not get my point across about what precisely I loved so much about him.

 

BUT - the fact that Solas is leading this poll makes me ridiculously happy. I've started a second playthrough as a female elf (a race and gender combo I never would have played otherwise) just for Solas, and I think that that's a mark of a damn good game.

 

I can't wait. I'll be really interested to see if Solas makes me forget about Cullen (who in turn made me stop -for the most part- obsessing over Alistair, finally).

She suprised me in a refreshing way.

 

Since DA2 I wanted to kill her on sight for being a seeker and for behaving like she behaved ... 

In DA:I I play an evil fem-qun-mage-Inq and wanted to kill her! Sadly not possible ...

 

But ... she is far more likable when romanced!

Sera will always be my true love but one amazing thing in balckwalls romance is if you break up with him while judging him because, trust. The look of heartbreak and rejection is delicious

Only did cass's romance, made me cringe at the whole flustered book and poetry episodes. Not sure about josephine but i hear there isn't too much to it. Straight guys really got shafted eh

I think every time somebody complains about the lack of hetero male romances in this game, a straight man in real life kills himself. I say this AS a straight man. The Cassandra romance is fine.

There's been 2 hetero male romances in every single DA game to date. Morrigan and Leliana in DAO, Merrill and Isabela in DA2, and now Cassandra and Josephine in DAI. Literally no difference, but NOW is the point where people want to b**ch and complain about an issue that has never existed in the past.

I'm tied between Solas, Cullen and Blackwall. I voted Solas awhile ago, because I'm dying for more content involving him.

 

But I absolutely love both Cullen and Blackwall's romances. I didn't expect to like Blackwall's, but it turned out to be one of my favorites.

I usually post on GameFaqs and lurk on this board, but I'm finally coming out of the shadows to give my opinion on the romances. So far, I've romanced everyone but Dorian and Josephine, so I can't comment on those. But the ones I have experienced... well, I've enjoyed them ALL. I thought I'd give my opinion and rank them.

 

1. Cullen - I really loved this romance. EVERYTHING about it. Maybe I'm a sap, but it seemed like the perfect fairy tale romance.. and I wasn't even a Cullen fangirl before this. I really quite liked everything about it. I think I liked him a bit better than Alistair, and I love Alistair! 

 

2. Blackwall - he seemed a little too tough at first, but I really grew to like him. It felt very passionate, yet tragic, but still with a happy ending. I think this is easily the most underrated romance of the game. 

 

3. Solas - Like most, he surprised me. I didn't expect to like him... and I didn't at first. But it was strange... I was on my 2nd playthrough, having not romanced him yet, and I saw him leaning against the wall at the Winter Palace. He had a sort of cocky bravado and smart aleck attitude that I'm always attracted to. (Not to mention, him taking me to Skyhold was always my favorite scene) So right then and there, I had a crush on him. But when I romanced him with my Lavellan on my 3rd playthrough, I was disappointed. I'm not much for tragic endings, I guess. And I wanted more. It just sucked that I couldn't hang out with and/or kiss him whenever I wanted to, like you could with other romances. All in all, while I REALLY enjoy Solas, I personally feel it's the most overrated romance of the game. It needs more.   The actor's voice is really sexy, btw. Best one since Garrus! 

 

4. Cassandra - Really, what's not to love about Cassandra? I went for her on my first playthrough, perhaps because I felt like I "knew" her the most going into it. But being a straight female, I think I enjoy the straight female romances more.

 

5. Iron Bull - I love Bull. I mean, how can you not love him? He's hilarious. It's more of a romantic comedy than a sweeping romance, and it felt a little bit like "fooling around" as opposed to a serious romance. Still, I liked him a lot. Interestingly, he was romanced by my least favorite Inquisitor to date, so perhaps that had something to do with his rating here.

 

6. Sera - I'm finishing up her romance right now. I think a lot of the Sera criticisms I've heard are rather harsh. While I have her at #6, I find myself smiling through a lot of her romance. She's an oddball for sure, but funny. I preferred her as the best friend of my 1st Inquisitor though (the one who romanced Cassandra) I was actually stunned when I went online and read the Sera hate, because I liked her since the beginning!

 

I don't know if anyone's interested in reading this, but there's my 2 cents. I'll probably get to the other 2 romances after I've played a few xmas games.... or after I find myself suffering from severe DA withdrawal and NEED to go back to it!

although i've only completed dorian's and solas' romances (i do plan to romance more companions), i was really torn.  decided to go with dorian, since he actually made me abandon my first playthrough (which i deleted the other day, since i'm not going back to it) so i could make a new inquisitor to get into his pants.
