Do NOT DOWNLOAD AWFUL PATCH. It removes all facial features (scars, freckles) changes the complexion and adds SHINY HAIR
Yeah the shiny hair I can live with , my pc having a different skin and losing his scars....
it just sucks.

I meant short haired, not shot haired. Either way, he doesn't have ANY hair!

Aha (taaaaaaaaaaake ooooooooooooon meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee) wish I saw this post earlier... Wouldn't of downloaded it
My character has no scars or facial hair anyway... but he does have long white/silver hair... and now his and everyone elses is super shiny and ruin cutscenes... Especially the beardos.
I find it hilarious how the game for me had nothing wrong with it, until they patched it to fix things I had no trouble with xD.
Well, in my own experience, the game had very few issues to address. Pretty impressive considering the size of the game. This patch came quickly and it seems they are still looking at issues for further fixes. To me, this is good news. A pleasant surprise. I look forward to what's ahead. If there are issues that consist for many, just give it some time. Chances are things will be taken care of that are needed.
Sooo... patch, let's see:
- Crashes are gone, for now, so that's good.
- Shiny hair? Ok, strange but whatever...
- Interface and controls are the same (except the pings on the mini map when searching).
...well, at least I could finish the main story now, so: Yeah... but that's about it. The interface is still crap and the tactical camera still useless.
shiny hair, no scars and the grass outside skyhold looks a lot worse than I remember it being as well.
Is it enough to have Origin in offline mode? (I still want to be connected so I can use Firefox). Or would I need to disconnect entirely because Origin is a hobag?
I don't want to risk assuming it is, have the patch start, and then be disallowed from started the game until it is applied.

It's some form of shader problem, that's because the grass looks strange too... a little embarrassing.
So far the grass textures/meshes have changed, hair seems to be fine no shininess, black hair actually looks black instead of blueish-black so far as well, I've had the odd "game hang" for like a few seconds before I can carry on moving which I didn't really have before other than when entering Haven after heading up the step into the village proper.
Radar ping stays highlighted longer. You don't have to be standing right next to loot to get something, but still pretty close.
Shiny hair, everything goes to low res, no or little textures on characters clothing and grass looks bad. ![]()
Please don't pretend to speak for the PC community. Thank you.
Amen. Im on a PC and have no issues. People just hate change
Change your settings for the shiny hair. Tweak them around to see what works and does not work for you. Its how I got rid of the shiny hair
I see they have not addressed or fixed Sola's broken and bugged companion quest All New, Fade for Her yet.

Good for you, but you aren't "every PC gamer" either...
Everyone is a majority these days. ![]()
yea the grass definitely looks worst.
Can I avoid the patch by starting with Origin in offline mode? Or do I need to disconnect from the internet entirely?
I know some people aren't having problems but I don't want to risk it. My game is running fine without the patch (so the only way it can go is down), and I have a digital copy so I can't revert if the patch breaks it.
♪♪The hair is so briiiiiiight, I gotta wear shaaaades♪♪
Also, my inquisitor's scar is gone

'Fix to spirit blade so it no longer triggers combo's'
:'(
BS. How is that a fix? It saws right in the description it's a detonator!
If you are experiencing problems with the mesh quality , restart your system , it worked for me.

Disconnect internet
Start Origin
Start DA:I
Load Game
Minimize
Activate internet
Open browser
Make sure Origin stays in offline mode, can't remember if it detects automatically.
Should work.

In Origin Go to App Setting, Updates, uncheck Automatically keep games up to date.
Personally I always keep it like that. I dislike games patching themselves out of no where. I'll make a backup of the folder in case patch turns out full on FUBAR. Reload backup and play away.
