Aldereth C on page 2 read that the patch forces everything to low settings =/.

 

 

 

It seems to be pc only, but don't take my word for it.

 

 

The PS4 is fine

Everything looks like garbage now.  Bioware Q&A failed big time.  No tessellation, low quality post-processing, lack of shadows, low quality textures, everything.  They just turned the whole game to low quality settings and locked them in.

It would appear that Origins had a patch today prior to the game . After patching Origins my game has more hitching and stuttering , but with less crashing or hard lock ups. So I guess that's better   For the game I didn't patch it as I don't have it auto patch enabled  for any of Origins applications.

Hotfix incoming, plus workaround that apparently works. Haven't booted it up myself yet.

It's not just shiny hair for me. It seems that the game looks a lot worse all around.

My bet would the bug that allows you to keep getting items from a chest if you only take one thing and leave the rest behind.

When was this a bug? When I only take one item and leave the rest behind the one item is still gone when I reentered the chest, if I leave the area and come back entire chest is empty.

Is anyone else's tactics broken? AI won't use any abilities on their own.   :/

I'm on ps4 and I haven't noticed that. But I have noticed once in awhile, one of my companions will completely ignore whatever I tell him to do while in tactical cam, from holding a position to using a spell, even during the final battle.

Oposite for me, they ONLY do stuff if i tell them to. Otherwise AI just spams auto attack and does nothing else

Just another reason it was a mistake to buy an Xbone, as if one was needed.

S***... Now I have to re-start a few characters whose voices I specifically chose so that they would flip after meeting Hawke...

EDIT: Or I can just play to that point offline, then connect to receive the patch.

Apparently the new PC Patch comes with luxurious shampoo that leaves your hair shiny and vibrant.... and removes all scars...

 

I'm sure they'll fix it...

Can I avoid the patch by starting with Origin in offline mode? Or do I need to disconnect from the internet entirely?

I know some people aren't having problems but I don't want to risk it. My game is running fine without the patch (so the only way it can go is down), and I have a digital copy so I can't revert if the patch breaks it.

if you stay offline in sp do not have to patch but you cannot  play multiplayer without it

Well my Inquisitor's hair is shiny like he put oil in it.  On the plus side, the search function is much better with the radar.

Hey Everyone,

 

We're working on getting a hot fix out for the PC graphics issue as soon as possible. In the meantime, here is a workaround you can try:

 

To start, make sure the quality setting you choose is equal to the setting set for Mesh Quality inside Options>Graphics

 

You will need to add a new command line parameter. To do this:

 

Through Origin:

1. Right click on the Dragon Age Inquisition title
2. Go to game properties
3. Type the command line parameter in the Command Line Properties box.

Through shortcut:

1. Right Click Shortcut
2. Go to Properties
3. Under target go to the end of the field and type the command line parameter into the box

Once there, add the following command line parameter: -ShaderSystem.ShaderQualityLevel <quality setting>

In this instance, <quality setting> should be one of the following:

• Ultra
• High
• Medium
• Low

An example of how to set your quality to high would be: -ShaderSystem.ShaderQualityLevel High

 

Please note that once the hot fix is out, you will need to go back in and remove this workaround from your command line.

 

It’s also important to note that pre-patch 2, all users on PC were being forced to use the Ultra shader quality. This means that those of you playing on lower settings will notice a decrease in quality, particularly players using low or medium settings.

To achieve the same visuals as pre-patch, users on lower settings will need to change their settings to Ultra, which should likewise be used in conjunction with Ultra mesh quality. Mismatching the mesh and shader settings will result in other visual artifacts like overly shiny hair.

Please be aware that changing settings to Ultra may impact performance on some machines.

LOL! I was thinking that myself. Gee, what shampoo are you using to get your hair so silky shiny? And your skin? 

 

Bioware has gone ahead and "fixed" us all.

My character hair is shiney enough to see your reflection in and he has lost all his scars. Also, scar in character creator don't work and it seems some of the complexions are messed up too.

I'm a little worried that everything got patched except the One. Usually 360 and one patches are together. Hope when it's released it's not full on broke.

At least you can play. After the patch I get an error message saying I can't connect to the servers to activate digital deluxe addition. So now I can't even play. Anyone else have this issue?

 

 

Just checked support forums.  Seems like there is a new angry post every few seconds with the same issue. I wouldn't patch for PC until they patch the patch.
