Dear Bioware, please at least fix abilities that do not work first. These are far more frustrating than any balance problems which you don't seem to know very well anyway. That is all.

I completely agree - all of the documentation I've come across lists Spirit Blade as a detonator.  The wording used in the patch notes is misleading, since it implies a bug fix, rather than a nerf.

As many others stated, with all of the known glaring bugs, BioWare's prioritization seems questionable at best.

Indeed. The game has only been out for a couple of weeks - things like rebalancing taking precedence over skills that are completely broken doesn't make sense.

Probably because they don't know how to fix what's broken but it's easy to "fix" what they now see as unbalanced.

Woah there buddy, watch your tone! Stopping the abuse of doing a regular run of the mill combo with a KE is very broken. They HAD to fix.

Think about it, can you not understand how doing a tiny amount of AoE damage, in a game were wizards can auto-attack dragons to death at their leisure, warriors take 1 damage from dragons, and rogues can kill dragons in seconds, is completely out of line?

Balancing priorities my good man. Priorities.

^ This...sadly.  The patch notes mention "Fixed a few DA Keep world state import reactivity checks".  I certainly hope that means my post-patch HoF will be correct.  Although I am not sure if this fix would be retroactive or if I would have to start over.  Almost 98 hours in and I am not starting over.  So far, everything else from my Keep Import has been correct.  Such as....

Spoiler

Even though everything in the above Spoiler is accurate, for some reason the game thinks my HoF was a Male Dwarf Noble instead of a Female Elf Mage.  The Keep State I imported definitely had my HoF as a Female Elf Mage.  IMHO, fixing something like that (and PC control issues, tactical cam issues, quest bug issues, etc.) should take priority to fixing SP mode balance issues.  After all, a player can choose to exploit / not exploit balance issues.  A player cannot choose not to have a quest breaking bug.

There are MANY things that broke the balance in the game but there are NONE addressed in the patch

1. Like everybody said, Fade Shield is what broken with KE, giving it unlimited barrier uptime

2. Stacking armor and defense can cause tanks to taking 1 damage to physical attacks

3. Limited enemie aggro range can be used to cheese even dragon to death from far/high locations

4. Using Flask of fire give you unlimited focus

5. Hidden blades mastercraft can proc in every hits, turning multi hit abilities into enemy blender, can kill dragons in seconds

6. Many combos, primer and detonators didnt work

7. 2H Warrior is the weakest class in the game, highly dependent on Reaver specs in higher abilities, need buffs

8. Flashpoint didnt have internal CD, can proc multiple times granting instant CD to spells

9. Weakness debuff bug

10. etc

Just read Stuff that didnt work thread

Funniest part is that this is true despite the fact that most of the armor boosting abilities are broken and don't work from the front. Poor Dragons just can't catch a break.

Speaking of imports being wrong, my imported Hawke was supposed to be a rogue but turned out to be S/S warrior in Inquisition and most of her missions were bugged and I had to hit skip a lot through cutscenes and dialogue. It might be fixed now but I'm not replaying that, lol. I play really slowly and have apparently somehow have over a hundred hours in my playthrough, Don't ask me how! I guess it's all that time looking for damn shards, mosaic pieces, and growling as I play connect the dots astrariums over and over and over till I get them right.

Kinda off-topic but, a tip about Astrariums:

1. Start the puzzle with a dot that has an uneven amount of lines connecting to it (1, 3, 5...)

2. Profit

Has patch 2 killed the SB as a combo finisher?

Has patch 2 killed the SB as a combo finisher?

And that is the stupid thing. SB is not broken because the damage, but because of synergy with fade shield.

SB damage is mediocre, so acting as a detonator give more incentives for other party members to do some combos instead of swinging it all day. With this, KE become even more boring to play, and that quite a feat

I usually defend Bioware for many of their allegedly flawed game designs, but this just out of touch with reality

They can die, it's just much harder than other classes. If built correctly you can do the exact same thing with a Warrior. Hell, Cass has probably died about 3 times total for me in 70+ hours of gameplay.

You said it yourself, "if built correctly". You don't need to do the same with KE, you just need to take an early skill and everything is automatic already. Moreover Cassandra is a warrior and a warrior (given the role) should be given the possibility to mitigate damage. But since we are talking of warrior, let's compare Shield Wall against Fade Shield, want we?

Shield Wall depletes stamina - Fade Shield doesn't, Shield Wall requires activating the skill at the right time - Fade Shield doesn't, Shield Wall builds up stamina on a base standard - Fade Shield instead works on percent of damage done that's MUCH more powerful, and yet Shield Wall is a skill for a Warrior that SHOULD be able to mitigate damage better than anyone else and Fade Shield not but Fade Shield is at skylevel above Shield Wall. How can someone insist that the skill is not totally broken is beyond me. Moreover Barrier is much better than Guard for what it concerns damage mitigation because it stops also elemental and AOE effects, Guard doesn't. There's simply no comparison between Fade Shield and something like Shield Wall (even if the latter should obviously be more potent given the role of a warrior), it is a totally broken and overpowered skill.

As for "KE can die", sure, they can die if you just stand there not using anything at all and letting a barrier deplete, elsewhere there's no way. Ffs people are playing with the spec solo on Nightmare with a Tier 1 armor set for all the game, do you understand it? Try to do it with a warrior then we talk again...

I don't understand why people care whether KE is overpowered or not.... If this was a vs. multi-player like star-craft, that would make more sense, but this is a SINGLE PLAYER FANTASY. If you don't like it, then don't play that class. You can go the entire game withought even having it mentioned.  Warriors have great abilities, take out KE and warriors easily become the most OP class, but I don't like warriors so I don't play as them. I don't have to face my fellow warrior inquisitors in the field of battle, so I don't care that they are powerful, make sense?
