"And on the one side of the ring, weighing in at nearly...however many pounds, the 'Massively Dissapointed,' stands ready to fight, a collective consciousness of the negative reviews!"

"On the other side, filled with rage and illiteracy, the famed fighter 'Zealoutrous Defense' stands tall, at nearly something-something pounds-a-whada!"

"This, is a fight to go down in history, a fight that will stand the test of--"

And then, a Pizzadog (domesticated of course), came in and nuked the ring. The end.

Koopman this is what happens when you dare to raise your head above the parapet and express an opinion that isn't a 100% positive. You will be hounded, derided and generally bullied.

I haven't played the game yet but I thought you raised some valid points in a fair and reasoned way. The reactions you're getting from some people are just ridiculous.

Really? How so? Please show me where and how I've insulted anyone for having a positive opinion of ME2 in this or any other thread.

Nice. People post massive reviews filled with bullet points of everything they don't like and why they don't like it and there are no devs in sight. Someone posts a pointless butt-kissing thread with no real information whatsoever and Chris comes out of the woodwork to chime in within 5 minutes...

Which could also be construed as you calling the man fickle...

;)

There's also the insinuation that anyone enjoying the game, also enjoys anus to mouth action.

Bashing everyone of being "fanboys" for expressing their opinions on your opinion. The quote above you're basically accusing people of being hyper-defensive but yet you aren't? Please don't make me laugh.

"yo guise i think dis game is not dat good"
"yo man i disagree this game is real good stop being unreasonable man"
"yo ur me2 fanboy stop "liking" this game bro i hate it lololool raging in the internet so hurdcore!!"

That's what your thread rolls into basically.

im still yet to play the game (damn bioware and no love for Aussies), but im not sure i care about the OP points about dumbing down the game. i do believe all his points are valid in terms of his first impression and he should be allowed to have those without being flamed etc.

some just please tell me they let you run when youre not in combat? i hated that in ME1 more than anything else

i dont have any complaints against the system, its the story telling, which makes me mad....

Why is everything so simple?

ok, i died, so screw my old friends and part with the garbage of galaxy, thats what paragons do, dont they?

Why stick with cerberus, listening to that crazy mans orders?

Love the game, story just feels wrong to me.....

Well the poster of this thread is entitled to their opinion.

As am I, and I highly disagree with that opinion. Graphics look great, the lighting is supposed to be dark like that its how they wanted.

I agree with the obscure portrait placement they kinda just sit their for no reason.

No complaints on the health bar since it only shows up after your shields have been knocked out.

Great game, different kind of game from the first one, but then again nobody ever said it was going to or had to be like the first game.

Not to mention the most judgmental game reviewing companies have given this game a 10 out of 10. And bioware doesn't buy out reviews.

To the original poster:
Despite all the hostility from the fanboys, you have raised all valid and fair comments and opinions based on your own opinion.

I didn't pre-order for the CE as i'm still waiting for my paycheck.. But after reading couples of confirmed points which i do not like: dumb down of RPG elements, no inventory management, no keybindings, shallow skills/specialization really DETER me from buying.

Clearly, i felt Bioware is making this game for console. It's not PC game anymore.

Really the only thing that pisses me off is how the hacking minigame where you have to play connect the hidden dots make me want to kill something. Half the time you click one of the dots to try and connect it to a previous selection but instead it makes it the new selection. And they only give you about 10 seconds to do this.

Hopefully when I play it on the Xbox 360 it won't be so bad. I think its just the folly of the mouse.

I would say that most, if not all of the OP's complaints are very subjective.

The graphics look much better. Just remember the shadows. Oh god, the shadows... I haven't read the thread, but I'm not sure if the OP is playing on PC or 360. For me it looked excellent on both platforms, and I daresay that it should be played on an HDTV. It's about twice as awesome as on PC (unless you've got a 30+ inch TV as your screen), since the game is meant to be cinematic. It does in fact resemble an interactive movie, even more so than ME1.

The minigames are a subjective thing. I see reviewers mentioning them, but not rating it down because of them. I actually like planet scanning.

As far as I can see there are no complaints about the game itself, just technical details. I'm puzzled by the fact that these can generate such a strong negative reaction...

Personally, in all the time I've played it (and that would be around 30 hours on one playthrough and ten-twelve on the second one), the only blatant mistakes I have noticed were:
- ammo does no replenish after you return to the Normandy. I refuse to believe that operatives would go in battle with their ammo almost depleted (it happened to me a couple of times);
- in a couple of cutscenes my Shepard was shown in his armour, but with an assault rifle, whereas he is an Infiltrator;
- once the camera was at a wrong angle during a convo;
- sometimes it's better not to run into tables, because you might find yourself in the air, but I've only had this twice.

It's unfortunate that these got past the testers somehow, but they'll get fixed.

I find myself hugely disappointed. I am trying, really trying not to be so angry at the game. I remember I had a tough time when I first got ME because I don't play shooters, but I do love Bioware games, so I gave it a try. After the learning curve, I enjoyed the game despite its many flaws.

The so-called tandem development has got to be a joke. ME had some vestiges of its console origins, but they were nowhere near as glaring on the PC as this one is. The space is literally driving me mad. I adored the old cover system, and this one is going to cause me to break my keyboard in frustration. The power system has been immensely simplified as opposed to fixed, leaving me actually bored every time I level up. I think the graphics are great, but the interface is just utterly terrible. I would love to have the squad attack and move commands in the pause menu.

Also. Key mapping. My god, You cannot access your: squad, map, journal, codex with keystrokes. This is freaking terrible.

Also, the blood dragon breaks immersion, since the helmet stays on.

EDIT: Also, don't my squad mates get armor? They are going to war in their scivvies. Even retarded Batarian mercenaries are armored up.

Yea, the controls and UI are atrocious for PC. It may be a better than average port, but in no way a good one. To add to others statements, why can't you double click on anything, or use the enter key to acknowledge selections? It's such a pain in the ass to do anything now. I don't want a streamlined/minimized interface, because the PC shouldn't be restricted to it.

Yeah that was indeed a freaking joke... you can't access journals, codexs, maps, etc. via keystrokes..

You really have to rethink if this is a console port.

I totally feel you here on the "WAI?!" angle - I love the story, but my paragon self [and Shepherd] are just NOT liking that we had to team up with an obvious crook, more so because he "brought us back to life" - though getting chances to bring his people over to your side IS fun.

The hardest part for me was the reaction of one of my former crew when I ran into them. Man that hurt to have to be like "Yeah, I'm working for Cerb because it's the only way" and they're like flipping out at you :?

Sad panda. I'd say these choices only serves to make the story stronger - and if anything, ME3 should be where we TRULY get to flex our fingers and say "I'm building MY squad back up from the old crew" - for those who are still able to.

I'd say the handling of the LI's from ME1 are weaker then I thought and that twitched me just a tad, especially when you bump into the new LI possibilities and realize "Whoa - hello diversity/depth" on some of them.

@ Rylor - I don't agree with everything, but respect the opinion <3 I DO however second the grumbles about the interface. I keep wondering how we went backwards on that part - double clicking/hotkeys were so prevalent and well done in ME1 and I'm sitting in the upgrade menu spamming the button going "WAI NO WORKY?" - thankfully, that's easily fixable via a patch but it should be done. There's no excuse for it to be missing.

The Mako wasn't the issue to me - the planet design was. I don't mind the new system, but I think it should be redone a bit for ME3. Scanning is tedious, it's just less "throw my monitor at a wall" irritating like driving the Mako up a terrible planet face.

My original shepard was a diplomatic do-gooder and working for human terrorists just doesn't sit well with me. Which is probably a bit of an understatement considering I quit the game after 30 minutes in sheer disbelief. But after I got over the initial shock I got into the story and I guess it's not too bad.

Technically I'm pleased. It both looks and runs better than ME1. I just finished up ME1 and I had to run it on poor settings, not so with ME2. But I guess that's what you get when you develop for the platform instead of porting? :P

The combat system dosn't bother me as much. I miss the RPG "friendliness" of ME1 which made it possible for me to play an adept and an engineer where you were controlling the squad, using tons of powers and moving/shooting. But I'll just play a more combat orientated class instead where I'll only have to use a few "in combat" powers that I can map on my extra mouse buttons.

The actual combat gameplay is a tad boring though. It feels like enemies just keep on coming until you move to the right locations, maybe there are just too many for my taste? But it kind of ruins my old school ME1 methood of outlasting the baddies from behind cover. I miss that, it might sound boring to you but it never bored me, unlike the new system which bores me on the larger encounters.

The ammo system is the nemesis of ME2 however, it's the reason I've spend the past 3 hours whining about how terrible it is instead of actually playing the game. It's just that bad. One of the big annoyances in ME1 was being out of medi-gel in the early game before you pick up a medical armor upgrade or get high enough shields <- and that annoyance is exactly what they've added to EVERY single fight of the ENTIRE game.

I don't know if I'm disappointed though. I was certainly disillusioned coming right from ME1 into the scary start of ME2's story. But the ammo system is the only thing I hate about ME2.

Nah, there is a finite number. Just more of them
at once, and they are smarter/more aggressive it seems.
