This is not a "gotcha", this is the concept of risk and reward that was the original intent for the treasure rooms from the get-go. The intent is to make you stop and think "Is it worth it to try and get more treasure? Are we too low? Yes/No/LeroyJenkins" and can lead to a lot of fun.
Now, I love the game, I have played it lots - I really think you have a gem on your hands if you iron out the bugs and expand on it .... like a lot!
But these treasure rooms risk & reward?? I have never really found them challenging even though they can kill new people instantly, and at a certain level it just becomes a joke. You play on perilous and you kill the guardian (which is supposed to be some dead hero king or something), and what do you get? An item level 6 dagger? "Wow, thats the greatest thing I've ever seen"....You'd be better off just giving us the gold which is actually usable for something, as I have tons of crafting materials already and really nothing to use it on at the moment. It might come later, but still... I'd rather see you do something different, like make them rarer, and make them into minidungeons or challenges where, the further you go the harder they become and so increases the level of the reward.... I dont know, you figure it out
. Bottom line is that after the first 10-12 levels I played in this game I dont think I have ever recieved an item I can use for anything in these rooms, and I open every room I can (for the gold of course, duh), and I'm above 200 prestige. That either means that they are incredibly incredibly rare, or just useless. Right now I'm leaning on the latter.
Again, as an experienced gamer, I think the game is great but you really need a lot more content... and why not?
I want bigger dungeons and dragon bosses! plz
