I would've been down for her as Divine.  She was like more chill, less naggy Wynne.

I'm surprised you can't Dark Horse her in, too.

Don't be silly, that would make sense.

Talking to her as a Mage, she has some very understanding views about Mages and doesn't come off as radical as Leliana. I honestly thought that she would be the next Divine.

Cassandra, Leliana and Vivienne all have personal agendas in becoming the Divine. Mother Giselle seems to be the only one who truly embodies the Andrastrian fiath.

Giselle is just a Mother not a Grand Cleric hence why she is not a candidate for Divine.

Leliana never got beyond lay sister and Cass is a seeker.  None of them are typical candidates for Divine.

I thought Giselle was the natural fit. Was surprised she wasn't a choice.

Vivienne is a mage and not part of the chantry yet can become the divine.

Vivienne isn't even part of the chantry, and is a mage. Literally every Mother, Sister, Brother, and Chanter should be considered before she gets a spot.

Well you know I can't be accountable for Bioware's lack of logic.

That's exactly why you can't make her Divine. That's not how choices in BioWare games work. It's not who'll do the most good, it's who'll do the least bad.

I do not understand why Vivienne is a choice. I play a mage Inquisitor right now, and asked why I could not become the Divine. The first argument against it was that I was a mage, and that might as well turn Orlais into Tevinter. So, why can't my Quizzy become Divine, while Vivienne can?

Plot devices, plot devices everywhere :P

Honestly, I don't mind so much that Giselle isn't an option - I had assumed she would be, she seems tailor made for that role as a character - but I don't mind that she's not.

What bothers me is that you can never suggest Giselle as an option. When she's trying to talk Cassandra into it there's no "Why don't you do it?" option. There's no "How about Giselle?" question at any point.

Though I have to assume that option doesn't exist because Bioware themselves couldn't think of an answer. If the Inquisition had the clout to get Vivienne elected, we had the clout to get Giselle elected.

Maybe she's kept unattached for the expansion/DLC/DA4? You know when the current Divine's (not)reforms blow in her face and they need a new one. Or in the case of Cassandra, when she throttles half the Chantry in Val-Royaux and runs away...

Inquisitor approves +100.

I'm not convinced that Cass is the best candidate, but she's certainly the most entertaining!

Certainly not someone I considered suitable for the role given the current situation.

Yeah mother Giselle is definitly not divine material given the current situation. Like it or not the chantry needed someone able to stir things up a bit and be an actual leader (meaning actually being able to wield the power given to them), which is a quality all three candidates posess and giselle does not.

To be honest I don't like the idea of Mother Giselle being Divine, she'd probably just put things back the way they were.

Ally with the Templars and let Gaspard rule alone. Those are the biggies.

Yeah, I always thought that she'd be devine. After all, she was needed early on to get support from chantry mothers.

Her views were moderate and sympathetic to both sides and her rallying everyone for morale was great.

Always thought that

1. Vivi wanted to be grand enchanter

2. Cassandra wanted to reform templars/seekers

3. Leliana to be with Warden or at least serve the next devine

Would've preferred it if Giselle was devine and Leliana and Cassandra were right and left hands.

Not entirely necessary. I made the mages allies and protected Celene and I still got Cassandra as Divine.

I'm not entirely sure what I did. I had high approval with her. I also encouraged her when she brought it up and did the War Table mission to give her support.

Also, I never encouraged Vivienne and discouraged Leliana when she brought it up.

As far as why Giselle wasn't an option, politics, even when they're spiritual politics, don't tend to be rational. Perhaps whatever the voting body of the Chantry is discounted her because she's too far down the hierarchy or they didn't find her to be leadership material.

Giselle insulted my boyfrando, no way.

...but seriously, she's not ambitious or famous enough. She's the kind of ally you need for power, but she doesn't carry enough to have it herself.

I would be lying if my opinion of her didn't sour a bit over that.
