It's obvious Champion is the tank specialization and Reaver the DPS one. But what if you want to be in the middle? Be secondary/backup tank and do DPS when not tanking?

The thing with the skill trees are is that they are flexible enough to accomodate a hybrid playstyle. There are skills in the different trees that aren't really exclusive to a 2H or a W&S. Some skills of course you might not find useful for what you have in mind might be pre-requisites to unlock those that you need. To answer question, I think 2H Templar should be good. I myself am going to go for a W&S Reaver.

Reaver. Templar can use a 2hander sure, but they don't have many DPS skills, they're basically buff bots.

They really shoehorned us into specializations here.

Champion - tanking.

Templar - support

Reaver - DPS/Suicidal.

I really hope we can get berserk back in a DLC or expansion! I don't like reaver, yet the normal 2h playstyle becomes useless on bosses. (Excluding spamming Whirlwind, but that's as boring as spamming Dragon Rage)

Full Reaver and 2H skills for DPS.   If you run with Vivienne then survival isn't a problem.

Because the game is not difficult overall, "best" is really about what you enjoy playing.

I enjoy 2H Templar. Charging Bull (upgraded) + free Wrath of Heaven (upgraded) + detonate with Spell Purge (upgraded) is something I consider very fun to pull off.

Also agree on wanting another DPS Warrior Spec, besides Reaver. Not enjoying Reavers too much.

2 handed tanking champion for **** and giggles,

Templar if you need a cleanse and don't wanna go too deep in the support tree with your mage,

Reaver is ok, but quite repetitive at the end.

Playing as a 2 handed Champion.

Well depends on what type of character you want to do, tried a 2handed with my champion and it worked great with To the Death + En garde. Every second is + 5% dmg given and taken, but with the guard generated i could keep locked on combat all the time without having to worry about HP Loss and if something bad happens Walking fortress could also keep me up ( even more because my armor had the walking fortress built in for 3 seconds).
Also Walking fortress passive + Flow of Battle ( both shortens my CDS) made my skills to be reused quite fast, including walking fortress. And for more Damage i got the

Cutting Words passive, so every time i used the aoe and single target taunts every enemy would take + 20% dmg.

Putting everything together my 2h champion could do way more damage than my Reaver if To the death was up long enough, but on Nightmare Difficulty i could be a good tanker and a good dps, fun to play but i must admit that was not as good as a tanker like shield + sword and not as good dps as a Reaver, since Dragon Rage ASPD and DMG are freaking high.

Playing as a 2 handed Templar.

My templar is more a battlefield commander than tanker or dps.

Bull charge passive negated the high cost of the Wrath of the Heavens, making every enemy to be downed from the charge, stunned and mowed down by Whirlwind, while coup de Grace  granted + 30% dmg against a load of Stunned/Downed enemies the critical hits + blessed blades made Wrath of the Heavens to up almost constantly. And of course used also War Horn to have yet another CC, and to take off Guard from dragons and disable enemies using tower shields.

So in short term is a CC machine, with lots of disables and a balanced DMG.

Only downside is facing Dragons or enemies immune to CCs, but The last sacrifice + a quick revive from a mage almost counts as a Focus skill.

To be true Reaver have that amazing dps because of Dragon Rage, if you plan using only 2 handed like me champion or templar are better choices.

All three are good, just decide what kind of character you want to play.

Templar for a support DPS, bringing great passives and absolutely destroying demons, a must for any proper Trevelyan.

Champion makes for a really good off-tank on nightmare and main tank on other difficulties, passives + to the death + block and slash makes way more tanky than most people think (also, the sound effect when blocking is the most satisfying thing ever).

And Reaver is perfect for those who are too lazy to reroll rogue but still want to think they can do serious DPS

I am currently looking for a good 2 handed specialization and build. Got it narrowed down to Champion and Templar. Currently playing a female human 2 handed, but may switch back to my original idea of a weapon and shield reaver.

I actually stopped played my 2 handed warrior when i got the reaver specialization. I wish i had saved beforehand, because it really is very boring. Yes, it has the best DPS potential from passives, but the skills themselves are nothing to write home about if you know to combo bullrush, mighty blow and static cage for insane damage. It makes me wish i went champion, or templar, because i prefer to play 2 mage + archer + Two handed.

I went champion with my 2h warrior along with blackwall as the main tank. Warriors were never meant to deal the most damage, they are meant to be ironclad bulwarks that CAN dish out insane damage with the right combos. They are about controlling the battlefield, and helping the rest of the party shine. My 2h champion works as an off tank and now I am able to play on nightmare with 95% of the time being outside of tac cam. Plus I find the champion specialization to be the most fitting for the inquisitor for RP reasons. In the end though it really boils down to preference.

Do you want to never worry about dying? Champion is for you!

Do you want to control the battlefield and act as the crutch of the group? Say hello to Templar!

Do you want to take steroids and deal absurd amounts of damage? Then Reaver is waiting for you!

Hope you found this helpful! =)

Not good at all.

Any Templar build heavily relies on the other Warrior trees to deal damage. Templar is basically ONLY for fighting demons. It's pathetic.

"Templar for a support DPS" It's not April Fool's is it? This is a joke right?

Out of all the specializations in the game right now, Templars and Necromancers are at the lowest of the low in terms of usefulness.

People tend to mistake USEFUL for POWERFUL. Templar can be useful in RPing a devout Trevelyan.

I personally just decided to go champion myself.

If you go 2h reaver and want to be the crazed barbarian should you invest skills in shield tree. Is turn the bolt an oversight and potentially going to be patched so 2 handers dont get benefit. Im not playing on nightmare or even hard. Just looking to deal tons of damage and survive more often than not

In general the warriors aren't the highest damage character but they can do some damage. Like if you choose to be a S&S Champion, you'll have major survival and what not, if you choose a Two hand with Champion you can do more damage but just less tanking without the shield. But if you want to be in between Templar are for the win, they have the best support (Off tank) in the warrior specials. But for my own taste and I want some major damage I went reaver, the highest I ever did was 11k damage. Went through nightmare with a reaver and it was really enjoyable. Plus you don't have to be a reaver that just use only reaver skills xD it's just pretty mainstream of what a reaver use, you can just do a normal attack and still do dmg (But you get the point)

Templars are a support off tank (But damn powerful with against Mages or demons, even if you went two hand or S&S, I went over 10k for both)

Reavers are the high risk/High reward 2h build (If you choosed S&S you can have a bit more tanking but not really well for a reaver)

Champions pretty damn simple, you can be really damn hard to kill but NOT immortal. But yeah damn hard to be put down.
