I saw this in the notes.

Presumably, this means that Rampage is now useable by both Warrior subtypes (as should be expected).

However, the notes specifically say "a couple" presumably meaning that there is another focus ability which is ow weapon agnostic. That makes me wonder. The only other weapon-limited focus ability was in the Artificer Rogue specialization, and I doubt they changed that... or did they? I mean, it's called "Hail of Arrows" or something.

(It's also possible this means something like "does damage independently of weapon damage".)

EDIT: Think I know what it is now. Counterstrike now no longer requires sword and shield. (I didn't know this was a requirement in the past.)

Since the arty one is called something like hail of arrows, I'm assuming it's supposed to be just tied to the bow abilities solely by design but it's not like I've ever tried it otherwise. I don't use Varric often in DAI since Sera feels much stronger to me and even when I use him, it seems sacrilegious to make him a DW'er, lol. I am a DW rogue but I went Tempest and as far as I know, even if I respecc'd, I wouldn't be able to choose Artificer to test it since I already choose Tempest, which seems silly to limit the game like that but whatever, it's done now, can't change it.

Yes, I agree. I was just trying to find a way to interpret what this remark means, that a couple of focus abilities are now weapon agnostic.

Reaver's ability was Two Hander only, probably works with shields now.

I really hope they change the artificier focus, its the only one left being weapon restricted

Imagine if it simply doubled all offensive abilities, would open up many interesting spec options with Artificier. And it wouldn't even be OP.

Anyone tested Hail of Arrows with non-bow abilities since the patch? Double daggers would be okay (still nowhere near Thousand Cuts, right?), but letting it double all skills would make it more like the other focus abilities in power, wouldn't it? Especially since Artificer's other actives generally seem to be considered the weakest of the rogue specs....
