Basically what the title says.

 

Patch 2 turned the game into low graphics even if you crank settings up to high/ultra quality...

FPS increase you say? Well you are running on Low graphics even if you select Ultra..

 

This affects the grass, surroundings, trees, hair (first thing most people noticed), overall look of the game, which all looks bad now, even if you play on high/ultra settings.

 

 

I expect this to be hotfixed ASAP.

 

 

Update: It also seems like the patch messed up the different character complexions, changing the look from "young" to "old and wrinkled" etc on savegames/characters already created.

Noticed this as well. Need to wear sunglasses, my super shiny hair is that blinding.

There's also a bug where a lot of characters are being set to the wrong complexion so they look elderly.

 

If you start a new game and go into the character creator you can see why.   There's only 4 complexion options in there now with several being repeated multiple times.

I noticed it too. My rogue's blades used to be silver but are now a glaring bronze colour.

There's also a bug where a lot of characters are being set to the wrong complexion so they look elderly.

 

If you start a new game and go into the character creator you can see why.   There's only 4 complexion options in there now with several being repeated multiple times.

 

I guess this patch broke a lot more than it fixed for PC players.

My character's complexion entirely changed; he had freckles, they're all gone... :|

Besides the graphical issues, I have another problem with the char creation. Everytime when I make a new char he/she is stuck in the fade

I know this is an old issue, but in the past I deleted my char and than I could make a new one. Now I have no chars anymore and I cannot create a new one ... but I can stare at the main menu (this is the only thing I expect from a game ... looking at the main menu )

I honestly think people are overreacting.  Sure, does it suck being stuck on lower graphics settings when your rig is capable of more?  Yes.  Does it need to be "hotfixed ASAP?"  Not really.  It isn't game breaking.  Believe it or not, I'm still playing the game perfectly fine, it just doesn't look quite as good as before.

 

Don't get me wrong, I want it fixed, but there are literally people stomping their feet and demanding the patch be reverted just because of graphical settings.  Talk about first world problems.

things I noticed since the patch:

-the ICE in haven looks like a horrific texture instead of the beutifull 3D stuff we had before

-hair became incredibly shiny for some weird reason

-I get huge random framefrops to about 1/2fps

-still getting DirectX chrashes about every hour, as before the patch

-I get no noticable stability improvement whatsoever.

-Scars aren't visable in the character creator, thus it's impossible to apply them to your character.

to me it appears nothing has improved, and only new issues occurred..

 

I really want to be proud of Bioware, saying "thanks for patching it and improving the game", but this truly disappoints me...

It may not be unplayable, but I share people's frustration. When you're playing and RPG and your carefully constructed character (to say nothing of anything else) no longer looks like your character, it erodes the emersion quite a bit.

Don't know what happened to the grass. Now it has kinda bright gray-green colour. Looks ugly. I don't know if it's because of the patch or my PC.

Im wondering how they gonna fix this. I mean if the character creator broke with patch, and the new patch applied new complex etc on your current characters (including your saves). How they gonna fix everyones character?.

That's a good question. I hope they will be able to fix this. There must be a way... I don't understand this stuff much, but maybe something like changing the code of current complex to match the old one?

It won't have changed the data in the save files, just the way that data is interpreted by the game.

 

Just to be sure, though, I would keep a save from before the patch.

That's a good question. I hope they will be able to fix this. There must be a way... I don't understand this stuff much, but maybe something like changing the code of current complex to match the old one? 

I would hope that when it was fixed the complexions would match back up to what they were before.  Maybe.  Hopefully.

I would imagine that as long as you don't make a save with the patch applied, everything should be back to normal once the patch works as intended.
