Bumped for dev's attention. I've been using text chat in ME3MP ever since I (accidentally) unlocked the console, and I found it's an effective way to communicate with teammates. I hope we will be able to use text chat in DA mp without 3rd party modifications.

biower pls
Those of you who remember me from ME3 will know I was a huge advocate of text chat. In this game, the lack of text chat has now become a serious issue.
Text chat is an essential feature for multiplayer PC games. Virtually nobody uses the voice chat, so when you don't include text chat, players are unable to communicate. I've run into countless situations in which a simple text chat system would have fixed things.
Could we please get text chat for PC in the next patch, complete with muting capabilities?
this is a port from console, everything with this game is console first, this is not the perfect game called dragon age origin or the cra**y game called dragon age 2
why would they add a text chat for consoles ?
consoles give mo money !
so consoles is prio

Every game I play, text chat is only used to insult people. Never had a nice conversation with strangers on text chat.
At least I never heard insults on ME3 voice.

On the EU servers this is even more important. Because while most players can read and write english, a lot can't really speak understandable english because it isn't their primary language.
Yep, I've been trying to get that point across for ages. Apparently if you're a non native English speaker that has difficulty talking or understanding native speakers you're doomed to play blindly because you have no hope to coordinate with your teammates unless they're already friends or you stick with people from your own country (and good luck with that).
Don't get me wrong, we live in an English-centered world. That's a fact. It's up to us to get to a level that makes communication possible, and I don't expect anybody to pat us on the shoulder just because we tried so we deserve a cookie even when we fail. But text chat would be the ideal solution to a whole lot of problems that have extensively been pointed out in this thread, this is just another brilliant example.

Sorry but just have to correct the "facts" here: "We live in an english speaking of the world".
There are almost three times more people speaking mandarin, and a few more even speaking spanish... than english. Maybe you should have written "Part of the world" which is more correct, as english is the most common language in Europe that people know (If you are living in europe), but contrary to popular believes, many larger and developed contries in europe like Germany, Italy and Spain have an unexpectadly low english literacy for several reasons, but especially when it comes to vocabulary it is because they dub their television. Seriously. As for america, if one insists on calling it America (not divide it into North, Central or South) the most common language is spanish.
I know, I know - thats not what this is about. But I just couldnt help myself. Just view this post as a *bump* ![]()
