Sorry but just have to correct the "facts" here: "We live in an english speaking of the world".
There are almost three times more people speaking mandarin, and a few more even speaking spanish... than english. Maybe you should have written "Part of the world" which is more correct, as english is the most common language in Europe that people know (If you are living in europe), but contrary to popular believes, many larger and developed contries in europe like Germany, Italy and Spain have an unexpectadly low english literacy for several reasons, but especially when it comes to vocabulary it is because they dub their television. Seriously. As for america, if one insists on calling it America (not divide it into North, Central or South) the most common language is spanish.
I know, I know - thats not what this is about. But I just couldnt help myself. Just view this post as a *bump*
True. As far as my experience goes though English has always been and still is some sort of 'common language'. I'm Italian, but when I have to work with China, France, Spain, Japan or Brazil, the language I speak with my foreign colleagues is English. It's true that as far as numbers go English isn't the most spoken language on the planet, but you're not gonna go far if you don't speak it, especially in a professional setting.

Sure. Though, in some schools in my country they have started teaching mandarin at an early age, recently.
I used to work in a language center, for a company that shall not be named, in Madrid. It was quite interesting to hear the differences in English, and the ability to speak it - between people who came from countries where they dub their TV and countries where they don't - for such a simple reason as budget.

I maybe discovered another reason why bioware doesnt want include in-game text chat. They dont want YOU to know this!
I discovered: For example you have 3 players:
Player A
Player B
Player C
Player A can host both player B and C
Player B can host only A
Player C can host only A
If <A> host a game invite trough origin <B> and <C>. They can play normal game BUT:
<B> doesnt hear that <C> is speaking (even doesnt see sounds icon at his name)
<C> doesnt hear that <B> is speaking
<A> can hear all and speak to all, and have great fun, that they doesnt hear each other.
Experienced this as <A> and as <B>....Text chat would be great.
This problem sometimes is NOT happening at PUG game. At Public PUG <C> can join game hosted by <B> with no problem trough finding a game. They even hear each other...i think Pug games uses maybe different ports...
So if you wondering why some ppls doesnt react at what are you saying...maybe its because they doesnt hear you ![]()
ARg if we had Text chat...the communication would be at different level.....

I would love to have text chat in the lobby right before and after the game, but not when we are in the match as I do not want to be bothered when fighting demon commander.
The missing thing here is that I met some really good players, I tried adding them in Origin (you cannot chat before adding them in the system), but they were not aware of the notification and I had no way to communicate further without getting them into the friend list. Sometimes its also just nice to say "good game folks! Goodnight" before you leave after hours of beating bad guys together...
Hopefully this will be implmented soon...

biower pls
Those of you who remember me from ME3 will know I was a huge advocate of text chat. In this game, the lack of text chat has now become a serious issue.
Text chat is an essential feature for multiplayer PC games. Virtually nobody uses the voice chat, so when you don't include text chat, players are unable to communicate. I've run into countless situations in which a simple text chat system would have fixed things.
Could we please get text chat for PC in the next patch, complete with muting capabilities?
Like telling that one idiot not to blunder off from the group and get killed by DC. So that this idiot has to fade step and barrier his butt off just to get out into the fray and revive him?
I like text chat.

As a wise pony (or was it Einstein?) once said, insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Anyway, what I am trying to say is bioware, you are driving your fans insane.

Given the history of releases for this game, is it wise to request something as radical as text chat?
