I've been playing for 25 hours now and I'm unable to find a way to do this... is there any way to do it? Thanks!

Edit: Btw, I'm playing PC version. In DAO and DA2 you could multiselect yor party members holding shift, for example, to quickly command attack. Is there any way to do this in DA:I?

No, but there is a hotkey to make them all attack your target... which may or may not help you.

You need to use the party orders to control the party. There is no support for multiple selection.

The attack order will cause your party to attack whichever enemy you've currently targeted; the hold command will instruct them all to maintain their current positions; the disengage command will cause them to put away their weapons and move to follow you; and the clear commands button is useful for undoing any previous orders (so they'll return fully to their own AI).

Outside of tactical view, you can't manually instruct a party member to attack (basic attacks won't queue, so you have to control them fully to get them to attack, and all the other characters will revert to AI control). If you have them use an ability on a target (which you can safely do while paused), then they should start attacking that same enemy after using the ability (though their AI can later instruct them to switch targets).

Thanks! I'm aware of the "attack my target" order, but I was wondering if there was a way to multiselect only 2 or 3 characters to do the attack. It is a fairly common tactic for me: keep one character distracting a big hitter while using three ranged to wipe out archers/mages.

I still can do this, but I need to issue the attack all order, move to the character, and then select again the new different target. I find it pretty tiring, and I hoped someone had found a way to map multiselect...sigh.

Anyway, thanks again!

You have a bit more control in the tactical view (you can enter and leave it using the T key by default).

This allows you to give individual movement or attack commands to the characters.

However, it won't always persist when leaving tactical view, and as mentioned their AI will decide on its own when it wants to change targets.

There's no way to selectively issue orders like you want, though. It's all or nothing in this game. :(

sadly some elements like the one you mention or tactics are absent... they should not.
Varic getting someone sleeping only to attack him again in the next shot is maddening....
Oh well.
