I've equally had trouble trying to get serious war gamers and strategy guys - presumably not cro-mags by the OP definition- and they hate how slow paced and simplistic the combat is and the overall lack of depth of the games.

Explaining the fun of Dragon Age to a cro-magnon gamer? I don't think that's necessary - lots of people play the game on consoles.
Oh no he didn't!

As an aside OP, if you want to be pedantic google that and ponder: De gustibus et coloribus non disputandum
Or throw it in your 'friend''s face. Choices and consequences, right?

What a shocker. I don't doubt you have a hard time not coming off as insulting when you refer to your gamer "friend" as a Cro-Magnon. I certainly wouldn't want you to be my "friend" if you spoke about me like that behind my back.
Have you ever stopped to think that maybe he just doesn't enjoy games like Dragon Age: Inquisition, and none of your super intellectual lectures will have any affect on him? Maybe you should, you know, discuss Dragon Age: Inquisition with people who like it. Like on this very forum!
It's so hard to respond to posters with these supercilious attitudes without being insulting.
If you refuse to read at all you're unintelligent by default.

I find it hillarious that you think Dragon Age is some kind of intelligentsia exclusive thing. Even Origins was pretty simplified compared to the classics it was emulating, and it's been simplified more since. And cutscenes have nothing to do with intelligence. Frankly games trying to be movies is pretty dumb in the first place.
