It's hard for me to compare the bs from one Phantom to the whole Geth faction. The amount of Geth BS correlates pretty strongly with how many double and triple rockets you get in a game from single GRTs. If you aren't getting 2 rocket troopers consistently ripple-firing at you, then it isn't so bad.
What is ridiculous though are waves with 3 or 4 Phantoms when they go into hand Thanix mode. Then you are getting absurd hitscan DPS directed your way. And it is like 99% of the wave's DPS from 3 or 4 of the characters.

But centurions are way more annoying with their smoke grenades. Blinding you while the enemies maintain perfect aim, while the player doesn't have any chance of countering that effect is plain dumb. Seeker plagues are less annoying than that sh*t.

You're trying too hard, seriously. I will admit there's a lot of bullshit Cerberus routinely engages in, but compared to everything geth throw at you, all the BS marauders pull off and the crap the collectors give you... no way I can compare some smoke to that.
Then again, I genuinely enjoy fighting Cerberus, so I may be a little biased.

Scorpion is indeed an answer for phantoms. Better than even Venom. Stagger all day without charge. It also is not that inaccurate.

This....whenever i take out my destroyer, he's equipped with a typhoon and scorpion to deal with those annoying phantoms...they can't hit or stab you if you're staggering the s**t outta them and the great thing about that is you don't even have to launch a direct hit on them for them to take damage.
Or use the Chakram Launcher. It's amazing against them.
Cerberus has a lot of firepower out in the open. Very obvious when soloing. However, given a little leeway they are trivial. It is mainly the Atlases sniping across the map which suppress free action
The real phantom killer is the Acolyte Krosol. And on Platinum there are lots of Phantoms
On Platinum, properly built and with Fortification refreshed in the last 20 seconds:
Acolyte + heavy melee + Carnage = dead Phantom in a second. Some builds when Raged are done at melee.
Fort buffed heavy melee + carnage need to do >= about 2350 damage to kill everything unshielded including Marauders in one pass. Marauders have more health compared to other mooks. Carnage seems to have a bit of unlisted damage; that and presumably the Acolyte bleedthrough makes 2350 a sufficient threshold
Properly built, Carnage cooldown will be quick, which means can chain melee groups of Phantoms.
I'll just quote myself:
With judicious maneuvering one can wade through a sea of phantoms killing every one in one pass. If phantoms can be disposed of this way then of course all lesser mooks suffer the same fate.
Reverse the order for regular mooks i.e. Acolyte -> Carnage -> Fort refreshed heavy melee in order to better trigger Rage. When spec'ing keep 4k acolyte barrier damage in order to one shot Platinum phantom barriers for maximum freedom, aggression and efficiency

I don't mind fighting Cerb either, but it can go downhill fast in a heartbeat...priority needs to be taken on engineers and phantoms. I was in a game where the engineers set up turrets everywhere, everytime you turned a corner, that a$$ was getting lit up. Most games aren't like this, it's just that during this particular game, the phantoms and Dragoons did a good job of keeping us at bay while we was trying to take out those engineers.
All said and done, weapon output and kits do make a difference, my point is that you just have to make sure you get a handle on those engineers as soon as you spot them. I've been in revive parties where turrets was ripping us to shreds....kill engineers ASAP!...![]()

Today. Pugging on Tuchanka. My DAI was in the corner near the LZ, Dragoon ran in, I spent a few seconds fighting him off and taking him down. And then was taken down myself by the Turret set up by the Engineer that had spawned no more than 2 metres behind me!
Death's too good for them!
